Paul Bethel Design began sometime in 2002 between freelance commissions and graduate school with the desire to be involved in different kinds of projects from the inside to the outside. As project and construction management positions became available, so did opportunities to learn from contractors, architects and engineers. Today, collaborating with potters, metal, wood and furniture fabricators, painters, artists and designers alike makes the experience more enriching and more fun. An adherence to the client’s program, sustainability, research, economy, and an honest use of materials are just a few of the important factors in determining a successful design. Building successful relationships remains a constant goal. From consultation and space planning, to furnishings, color and lighting design, to management and turn-key solutions, Paul Bethel Design offers interior and exterior design and implementation for the residential, commercial, corporate, hospitality and healthcare professions.

Paul Bethel was a wonderful professional designer to work with on my bathroom renovation. I hired him to take and old 1973 half bath , and create a full modern bathroom with a claw tub in it. He expertly listened to my thoughts on what I wanted it to be, and it turned out better than I could have ever dreamed. We both comprised on some items which was an excellent partnership. Paul was so detailed in every aspect of this project. I was so confident in his getting it done, I went on vacation part of the time while it was being renovated. His navigation through the contractor selection process was invaluable to me. If I have other projects to do in this home, Paul will be the designer I will go to do it!

Paul is a very talented designer. He and I collaborated on the design of my kitchen renovation and I was very pleased with the relationship that evolved. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an interior designer that is knowledgeable, creative and attentive. His knowledge of the kitchen design industry is what drew me to work with him and his familiarity with all the elements needed to design a total kitchen helped tremendously in making selections and decisions. Being a designer myself, I was searching for someone with a residential design background that could work with me in developing a beautiful, yet functional design and would provide a thorough and detailed set of drawings that would be sent to multiple contractors for bids on the work. All has worked well and I am currently awaiting the beginning of construction. I am very happy!!

Paul guided us perfectly through the process of renovating a kitchen in 2018 and a loft addition in 2019 in our city condo. We are using his services again in 2022 to design the enty/hallway area for improved continuity and storage along with a redo of our master bathroom. Paul's work is top notch and very professional with his excellent design style. He negotiates obstacles that may arise in a calm manner. It is truly a partnership when you hire Paul. He listens to your needs, your likes and dislikes. He is nonjudgemental about your taste and so the process becomes fun, supportive, and educational. I really appreciate learning about design concepts and principles by working with Paul. The outcome of our kitchen and loft is stunning! I love the large island with a curved edge and mix of tile on the floor with the wood and the pendant lighting he recommended and designed. We get compliments all the time from our friends, family, and neighbors!
