She will listen to your needs and design a space for you with a talent that is both practical and passion-driven based on your personal style. Several years ago my husband and I remodeled our home, touching all of the main floor (entry, formal living room that was converted into an office, dining room, kitchen, family room, bathroom and laundry) and on the second floor, our master suite, including enlarging and gutting the master bathroom and creating a walk-in closet. Phyllis helped tremendously by helping me understand the rehab process and recommending professionals for projects, in addition to sharing her decorating expertise. Having lived with boring white walls for far too long, I wanted color but had no idea how to select colors that would work with the items I wanted to keep yet give the house a new look. Working with a restricted budget, existing furniture and lots of collectibles, she created a home that I love through her color and fabric choices for walls, furniture, bedding and draperies. Red is my favorite color and I was unsure how to use, or even if I should use, red in decorating throughout the house but Phyllis took on the challenge and created a home that is warm, inviting, and relaxing. I love the whimsical touches that she brought to every room, whether through fabric, pictures or accessories. We had a lot of fun together throughout the process, including going through and pairing down my collection of gargoyle and grotesque wall art that I insisted remain in the master bedroom. She turned my odd collection into an accent wall that pops. Not long after my project was finished I was watching a design show on HGTV when I saw the fabulous fabric Phyllis selected for my office drapes - what fun! Throughout the entire process I knew Phyllis was listening, getting to know what we liked or didn't like, using her skills to make our house represent both my husband and me, making our home unique.
