We contacted Pure and Simple Interiors while in the process of searching for a new property manager for our rental cabin in Mars Hill, NC. We needed to upgrade and enhance the interior of our 12 year old property. We contacted the owner of this business and she listened to what we wanted to do and the budget we were working with. She proceeded to visit the property and took pictures and notes all in an effort to put together a workable plan. A few weeks later we met her at the property to begin the process of moving furniture, discarding the junk we had accumulated over the years and made plans for a phase two, upgrading the lighting, adding art work, and adding some accents that would enhance what was still remaining. She came to the first session with a solid well thought out plan and although it was exhausting she dug right in helping us move and rearrange furniture and accent pieces that were still usable. We would certainly recommend this business to anyone needing a competent, professional advisor who will work within your budget and limitations.

Susan was great to work with. She really listened and helped us bring our living and dining room out of the '90s:). She was very budget conscience and used many items we already had. Susan did a great job helping us edit out some knick knacks and add a more modern look with new side tables, lamps, and curtains. We went from 1990s drab to 2020 modern and bright. She was happy to use our beautiful furniture, but rearranged and modernized. She added a great art wall.

After a divorce late in life, I moved into a house only to realize that I had no skills whatsoever at decorating. I was nervous and suspicious about involving anyone else, but it just wasn't getting done. Susan surveyed my situation; some rooms livable and others more nearly resembling a landfill. She took stock of what I had and got me to decide what elements were essential and which were incidental. As the house began to take shape she moved on to the basement and we even got that squared away. For the first time in my life I know what I have and where to find it. The house is beautiful, a reflection of who I am. The basement is functional and the cost was way less than I feared. I'd recommend her to anyone.

Susan is great to work with. She came to my house to help me decide what to use and where and how to use it. We spent several hours moving furniture and art work, and talking about my items. She had recommendations for colors and other accessories. It was a small project but it made a great big difference in the look of my home. I moved into a new home in August and needed help with where to place furniture, artwork and accessories. Susan presented ideas I would never have thought of. Susan was just the designer I needed after moving from out-of-state. Her sense of design, pattern, color, placement are all spot on. I found her special talent to be working with what you have and integrating new pieces, be it furniture, rugs, etc., in ways that never seem "designed." For me, she created personal spaces that are comfortable and aesthetically cool (can't think of a better way to say it). . She listens closely and brings professionalism to all she does. I chose her company for our project for two reasons - she specializes in helping you use what you have, and her fee structure allows you to pay as you go. We had moved to a new home that was very different from our previous home. We did not want a total re-do but were at a loss as to how to arrange furniture and decorate. In our first session with Susan, she spent some time getting to know us, our lifestyle, and our tastes. After touring the house and taking a mental inventory of the furniture and decorative items we already had, she quickly had suggestions for using our current furniture and some special items/collections. Her keen eye for design resulted in a home that started to feel like OUR home! After a couple more sessions, our home really took shape, and now feels comfortable, pulled together, and reflects our tastes. We are very satisfied with her work and plan to call on her services again.

My experience with Pure and Simple Interiors has been a pleasure. Susan Markowitz has an "excellent eye" to determine a sense of space and color. Under Susan's guidance, I was able to rearrange many of the items in my home resulting in a much more more attractive and appealing environment.
