I have worked with Renae and her team for over two years having built numerous pieces of furniture for her clients and I still look forward to every project. WOW! Renae did a wonderful job redecorating my apartment. She stayed within the budget prepared before the renovation started. Renae kept to the estimate of the time required for completion. Renae incorporated many pieces I own with the new furniture and made my apartment look different and brand new. She also assisted in restoring and reframing my art work. My bathroom, living room and kitchen are fabulous. I will use Renae for future work.

I was first introduced to Renae's work a few years back when I was having a beach house built on Long Island. I thought I could pick out the bathroom and kitchen fixtures myself but quickly realized I needed help. What initially impressed me about Renae was her ability to connect with my husband. He was not convinced we needed help! Her practicality, and laser-focus on our (very eclectic) collections was enough to bring him on board. We have since worked with her on multiple projects. Renae recently made the difference between an extended, emotional move and a graceful downsizing for us. She remade an old kitchen into a working, breathtaking showpiece. She integrated modern art, woven textiles and folk art into an old house, re-imagined flooring, introduced modern materials and created new art lighting and window treatments across 2 floors. Many of her suggestions like UV window filters, specialized artisans, vendors and products, even cleaning suggestions were new to me. She works well under time pressure and has contractors and vendors firmly in hand. I highly recommend working with Renae Cohen.

I worked with Renae for two years. She completely changed the look of our apartment, which was not an easy task. Renae was responsible for our complete refurnishing of 5 bedrooms and accessorizing 5 bathrooms for our second home on Kiawah Island, SC. I had retained Renae a few years before to refurnish our common areas (living rooms and foyers on two floors) in the house and had been very pleased so when it came time to redo the bedrooms, there was no doubt who I'd call. With this project, as well as the earlier one, once Renae knows what the scope of the project is and the time frame, she develops a budget and a timeline. She adheres to the budget and delivers on time. What makes it particularly rewarding to work with Renae is that she has all the qualities you'd want and hope for in a person you are entrusting to make a space your own. Renae listens to what your needs and objectives are keeping in mind the constraints, budgetary and otherwise, you have articulated. What’s more, she remembers, and as she gets to know you and your preferences, she is able to bring options to you that fit your style and your budget. She is extraordinarily organized; she always comes prepared for a meeting and is armed with an agenda and a book filled with every decision you’ve made and options considered. She is efficient but does not ever pressure you to make a decision that you are not ready to make. She is meticulous in her attention to detail in the macro requirements such as the development of a budget, floor plans and color schemes as well as in the micro from checking the height of table lamps to purchasing light bulbs and felt protectors on accessories. She is incredibly patient whether in answering every question (and she will track down information if she doesn’t know the answer immediately) or helping in getting you over the hump to make a decision (or reassuring you that the decision you made was fine!). Yet she is never judgmental, and will never impose her opinion or preference on you and will keep looking until you are satisfied. Renae is committed to making sure you are happy with your choices and never surprised – she is up front about all costs such as delivery, sales taxes, storage, and her expenses. And yes, to state the obvious, Renae has a great eye. With the years of experience and the solid relationships she has built with vendors and those in the work rooms and the show rooms you can be confident that the product will be excellent quality and at favorable pricing that she passes on whenever available. Additionally, as you might expect, Renae retains staff who are professional, responsive and highly capable. In a personal service relationship, for me communication is critical. Renae not only keeps you informed of the process and status every step of the way, but she also is always accessible and responsive. In short, Renae is the consummate designer you would feel fortunate to have run your project.
