About Us
Rochelle Rubin Design Resource (RRDR) is a fully integrated design studio offering its clients complete design service. Beginning with the planning stage and supervision through completion of the project. RRDR was founded by Rochelle Rubin and has been in business for over 44 years. Ms. Rubin attended the Parsons School of Design, the Traphagen School of Design and is a graduate of the New York Fashion Institute.
While Ms. Rubin is the designer of a project, she is supported by a staff design team that works closely with her and is aware of each project. RRDR projects include new residential construction, residential rernodeling, commercial tenant improvements, commercial office buildings, banks, public buildings, as well as designing and furnishing professional and executive offices.
Rochelle Rubin believes that teamwork makes for a successful project and therefore works closely with owners, architects and other specialists involved in designing and implementing each design project. In addition to its design services, RRDR is a licensed contractor and can offer competitive bids for carrying out design concepts. Over the years, RRDR has established relationships with carpet mills and other vendor resources for most products used in their projects. RRDR uses competent subcontractors with whom we work closely (including carpet layers, tile setters, electricians, cabinet shops and painters).

Rochelle Rubin Design Resource works magic. I had seen two homes she designed before I asked her to work with us. One home was more modest than the other, a larger, more elaborate one. I was buying a beach house across country from Rochelle's business and asked if she could undertake my project...more modest than elaborate, but thousands of miles away in a totally different kind of area. My husband and I told her things we liked (menswear fabrics, candy colors, the color coral, etc.) and asked her to incorporate these disparate and random preferences into a "together" and comfortable environment. And that she did! We loved her work, her responsiveness, her resources, and how she made shaping our home a totally pleasant and joyful experience. She and her staff are talented and committed to making your home lovely and welcoming.

Rochelle is fantastic! She is definitely one of the most creative people I've ever met. She took our newly purchased house, built in 1934, and transformed it into a beautiful contemporary new home. Regarding design and decorating, she is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. She opened up our living room and created a more contemporary living/ dining area, which looks spectacular and works great. She took the old dining room and turned it into a great office space.
She is fun and easy to work with and is always open to my preferences and ideas. We ended up by expanding our budget, after realizing what a difference her ideas would make to enhance our home but she was always conscious and respectful of the budget. We plan on continuing to use Rochelle for any future projects.

Working with the interior design staff led by Rochelle was the best experience I have had with a professional interior designer. Rochelle spent time getting to know me as an individual, she valued my existing furniture and gave me choices appropriate to my budget. Her knowledge is vast and Her ability to deliver all aspects of design from construction, painting, remodeling spaces, to hanging photographs. All of her workers were highly professional. My kitchen cabinets were completely updated and Rochelle offered advice on all aspects of my home, even areas where there was not a financial gain. A fireplace was built out in beautiful black granite-a real show piece. I was surprised at the quality of the furniture versus the cost. Rochelle is more than a professional designer. She becomes family who cares deeply about creating that special space that gives me joy each day.

I have worked with Rochelle for many years and through a number of homes. We started with her in 1999 when we added considerable space to our home. At that time we also redid some of our existing home and she did the design work and followed through to completion of the job.. . She then did the design work for our apartment in San Diego and even came out to help us unpack. When we bought a larger apartment, she did the design work and helped us through that transition. In 2006 I bought a condominium in Lenox Mass. and she did the design work long distance. It is one of the most beautiful places ever.
Obviously, I believe that Rochelle is one of the most talented designers I have ever met. I would never consider working with anyone else. She works within budget and projected schedule and the results are always amazing.

We have worked with Rochelle Rubin twice over the last 13 years, after seeing the work she had done for many of our friends. Rochelle "LISTENS" to her clients, in terms of their taste and their budget. But she always has wonderfully creative....and practical ideas that we would never have thought of. Her taste level is excellent, but she doesn't have just one "look".
The most recent time we hired her it was to update our house and she only focused on what needed to be done....nothing unnecessary.

Master bedroom/bath redesign & remodel. Rochelle listened to us, she heard that we wanted to increase closest space & larger steam shower. By changing the entry into the bedroom we design a much larger closet allowing us also to increase shower space. Rochelle shows enthusiasm for the job, great visualization & creativity! Another key feature is that she is not pushy!
We started the design about a year ago, we have not started construction, hopefully this fall.

Rochelle Rubin Design designed and decorated a remodeling project of theA kitchen, den, and living room of my then existing home. An aisle was placed in the kitchen den area, and a very large entertainment unit built at the end of the den. The results were beyond our expectations.
