Still a work in progress, but Chris and Hector have really transformed our mid-century house. They were very patient and reassuring as we’re not very good at visualizing the proposed changes and now we’re so grateful for their ability to see the potential in our home. They had so many great ideas for our new siding, doors, windows and even the idea to top the pickets on the fence made a huge difference. We absolutely love our new yellow door with the frosted glass that brings in so much extra light! We love that now our home is now one of the best on the block! We’re now working on the interior of the house and we can’t wait to see the transformation! We highly recommend Chris and Hector – they’re a great team!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Hector and Chris. Our project turned out amazing and we took out all the things in our home that had no use any longer including columns, fireplace, and master bathroom tub. We have a timeless design that will take us through many more years at our home. Although our project was in Texas, we had no issues with Hector and Chris being in California. They knew what we needed even though we did not realize it. I would recommend Hector and Chris again and again. They redesigned the entire bottom floor along with the guest bathroom upstairs.

My husband and I decided a few months ago that we were ready, after 15 years and raising 3 kids in this house, to finally decorate our home the way we wanted. Hector and Chris spent a considerable amount of time with our family learning not only our decorating tastes, but also getting to know who we all are and how we hoped to use our space. They then successfully transformed our house that was previously terribly dated and full of awkward and unused spaces into a home that is current (yet timeless), welcoming and flows seamlessly from room to room. They found high quality painters and helped us select beautiful paint for our walls and cabinets that brightened every inch of our home; they sourced a beautiful counter top and back splash material that easily updated our kitchen; they designed our living spaces so that each room became a usable space; and then they furnished the home with a mix of new pieces (that you will not find in any furniture showroom or your neighbor's house) and some of our existing pieces to create a home that is beautiful and truly reflects our family and our tastes. We love our "new" home, but if the time comes for us to move on from here we would not hesitate to hire Romero + Obeji again.

My wife and I purposely resisted purchasing any furniture when we moved to our new home as we were waiting to meet the right design professional who could make our home special. From the initial meeting with Hector and Chris, I knew we were in good hands and the result is beautiful. Hector and his team are professional and helped us express my love of color and my wife’s love of whites and neutrals in the design. With their direction, practical sense of style and keen eyes they helped us create our beautiful home, including our young daughter’s room which she loves! His attention to details is evident; he was even able to have a wonderful custom work of art created for our living room. My fiancé and I loved our experience working with Hector and Chris! They got to know us, understand our taste and translate that to a design & feel in our home of exactly what we had envisioned in our minds. This was able to happen because of how personable they are to be around and work with. Interior design can seem intimidating to a novice, but they handled and helped our decisions with ease. We are excited about all of the timeless decisions we made and know we will love them for years to come.

My wife and I bought a townhouse located just out side downtown Houston in the summer of 2015. Great place, but needed updating badly. We wanted a modern look. We needed help with not only the design, but also someone who could coordinate contractors to get the job done. Luckily, after an internet search, we found Hector Romero Design. We met with Hector for an interview, and immediately felt comfortable with him, his ideas, and what he told us he saw as possibilities for the place. We hired him, and now looking back, we certainly made the right decision! He sat down with my wife and I individually at the beginning of the project to find what each of us liked. He then took that information to formulate different ideas for us to consider. In the end, he brought compromise, where each of us (my wife and I) had aspects incorporated that were important to us as individuals. This was a good size project. Kitchen, three bathrooms, re-tile of 75% of the house, re-finishing of the hardwood floors, glass windows replaced on the front(2nd & 3rd floor), as well as all new furniture, appliances, and rugs. In a project that large,a lot of things can go wrong. It could not have been smoother! Hector gave us a timeline and stuck to it, which was very important to us. Also we knew exactly up front the costs for each phase, so no surprises! His organizational skills were outstanding, both from our side as well as keeping the contractors in line. I think he was as proud of the completed project as we were. It turned out more beautiful than even we had anticipated!

Hector Romero is a fabulous designer. He's smart and creative and is honest about what he thinks will work for your space and why. He works with you to develop a vision and shares his experience and insights as to why something will or won't work. He understands color really well! He understands balance of color and light and shape and form. Look no further - you will be very pleased working with Hector.

I’m a creative person with a definite aesthetic, but interiors are a huge challenge for me. Hector and Chris created a plan that captured my style, which they installed in a way I never could have done on my own. Every detail was masterfully orchestrated – from the positioning of a chair to the way the towels were folded on the counter. They’re total professionals with an amazing eye for design -- but most importantly, they listen. And when a designer is coming into your home that’s a VERY important thing. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Hector and Chris are experts when it comes to design and I cannot begin to say enough about how incredibly talented they are. They completely transformed our family home into a space that is so perfect for entertaining as well as day to day living. They have such an ability to find pieces that reflect the specific feel of each unique space.
