About Us

Are your rooms in a rut? Let Michele Bobb help you create just the right look with color and design advice that will make your home a warm, inviting space. Design to live or stage to sell - Room Therapy has the answers to all your decorating dilemmas. Whether you are just starting out, refreshing your space or ready to move to your next home, your home’s personality can shine through with a little creativity and encouragement. Many clients often sell themselves short. They actually have a great sense of what they like, but lack the confidence to make the decisions to pull it all together. About Michele: My love of interior design dates back to junior high when I spent hours poring over my mother’s latest issues of House Beautiful magazine. My idea of a fun outing was to take the bus with my best friend from New Jersey into New York City to see the wonderful furniture displays at W.J. Sloane on Fifth Avenue. Today, I have to smile when I think of the sales staff wondering what to make of two twelve-year old girls spending their time visiting each floor of their flagship store. In 2002, Room Therapy was born. The concept of redesign was just taking hold and I loved the ideas of sharing my passion and helping others find happiness in their homes using what they already owned. The first step in the process was to polish my skills at a professional workshop taught by industry leader, Joanne Lenart-Weary. Her 5-day training workshop in Erie, Pennsylvania, gave me the confidence to start my company. Since then I have participated in other workshops including a six-day color workshop given by Joanne Day of the Day Studio in Oakland, California, in 2009, and a three-day workshop focusing on the undertones of colors given by Maria Killam in Toronto, Canada, in 2012. Because of the ever changing nature of the design world, I participate in workshops, attend seminars at The Washington Design Center and new product introductions by Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore and Hunter Douglas, whenever I can. As a member of the Interior Redesign and Staging Association, I continue to collaborate with other local designers each month as we explore new resources and participate in non-profit projects with local charities including Habitat for Humanity.
