We were so lucky to have found Ruth Axtell to rehab and decorate our new home. She has excellent taste in decorating and design and managed the project professionally. Ruth was always available to us, even though we were living in another state 1,000 miles away. Thanks to Ruth’s skills and hard work, we were able to move into our home exactly when we wanted. We love it!

We couldn’t be happier with Ruth Axtell Interiors! Ruth directed the design of the remodel of our home which was under a very tight time schedule. She listened keenly to our thoughts and adopted our design aesthetics and implemented it perfectly with very minimal time available and kept us on track. Ruth made suggestions that were both fiscally responsible and perfect for our home. She designed and made custom drapes for our bedrooms and shades and valances for our kitchen and dining room. Our amazing experience with Ruth Axtell Interiors led us to seek her services again for a separate project. She again managed perfectly to our taste. She has a terrific eye for color and space. Ruth was truly a pleasure to work with. I have a contemporary home that was modern looking when it was built. It was in desparate need of a revitalization. Ruth helped me set the tone for the living room by working with me to design the fireplace tiling. I sat with some samples she supplied before choosing. That dictated paint color and again she brought samples and we placed the cards next to the fireplace and I sat with them for a while before choosing. In addition it is worth noting that Ruth’s sister works in the antiques business and so I was able to sell off quite a few pieces of furniture, lamps, and paintings that were no longer the right fit for the vision I have for the house. The even helped me figure out the best way to restore the luster of a mid century modern piece I have and continue to use it. Ruth comes with great recommendations on reframing paintings which was very valuable. This is just the first phase of a major rehabilitation of my home. I am glad I chose Ruth to be there as a trusted advocate along this journey. It has been a pleasure to work with you Ruth!

Ruth was fantastic! I had my bathroom, hallway and stairs remodeled. She not only made what I had imagined a reality, but she made it better than I ever could have imagined. The whole process was truly collaborative, I was a participant from the beginning, and Ruth always made me feel like I was her only client, responding quickly to my questions, and adding her own thoughts and experience, to take the remodel to the next level. Ruth Axtell is a true professional. During our bathroom remodeling project Ruth was always on top of any problem that arose. Due to the pandemic, Ruth and her general contractor had trouble finding a plumber that was free during the remodeling project. Ruth took the lead to identify a replacement plumber with her general contractor and ensured the plumber was on site when he committed. One of her greatest assets is that she listened to what we had to say whether it was about the total remodeling or the smallest of details. Ruth spent as much time as was needed with us, meeting with various venders, offering ideas, support and professionalism. She was always available to address any concerns and/or answer questions we may have had. Ruth is very friendly and very easy to talk to and always has a smile on her face. Ruth is a lovely person who's main concern is helping her clients achieve a final result that they "love" through her many years of experience, knowledge and professionalism. We were so impressed with her support and management, we worked with Ruth on another home project, and will use her in the future.

Ruth is wonderful to work with. As a busy professional, I knew I needed someone I could depend on and trust to oversee all aspects of remodeling my kitchen, 2 bathrooms and flooring. Ruth made sure my project remained a priority, even during a pandemic. I highly recommend her and would definitely hire her again.

My wife and I struggled for years about how to refresh our first floor. We could not come to agreement on colors, window treatments, paint or wall coverings and so on. I had met Ruth through work she had done at the hospital where I worked. A short chat later Ruth was visiting us at our home in Needham, MA. From the moment she arrived, she immediately began getting an understanding of our particular leanings with color palettes, style, and was developing a plan of action. Within 20 minutes we were selecting wall coverings, and paint colors. Ruth brought an incredibly craftsman to the renovations of our dining room, living room, family room and kitchen, Ruth coordinated the recovering of dining room. chairs, sofa and loveseat. Crown molding was created for the dining and living room and in the entry foyer. New window treatments and shades throughout the first floor, A new mantle was built over our gas fireplace. We purchased art from several area artists and had a stained glass window created for an internal passageway. We could not be more pleased with the final outcomes. The work was two projects completed over the course of about a year to accommodate the talented crew that Ruth brought to the jobs. We highly recommend Tout Le Monde Interiors and Ruth without reservation. She is great to work with, does not leave a single detail unattended, and is so talented bringing ideas to us that we never might have considered. Ruth at Tout le Monde made my shower renovation go smoothly and beautifully. Her wonderful ideas and suggestions are spot on because she really listened to us. Ruth sent us an excellent carpenter and plumber who were very courteous and highly skilled. Ruth is as lovely as she is talented. OMG What a great designer, Ruth did it all. I needed a bedroom, bath and family room for my elderly parents. Ruth came to my home, with contractors, to best figure out what the possible solutions would be. She drew a plan, hired the contractors, coordinated them. She was professional, had great knowledge, and eye for detail and quality. Not only that, she was on deadline and budget. She really was just wonderful. We completely remodeled the master bathroom and decorated the master bedroom. I found Ruth very easy to work with. Her guidance in selecting materials and colors was extremely helpful. Great company! The whole team was efficient, helpful, and made us feel special as we planned top redecorate our Living room and make updates to our Bathroom. We had some ideas and the designer listened to us and shared honestly her concerns and suggestions. Well, we couldn't be more pleased! The wall and woodwork colors she had us sample really changed the whole feeling of the space. The carpenter came through on very short notice to repair and replace some woodwork before the painting began. Tout le Monde was in charge of remodeling our master bathroom and guest bathroom. Ruth Axtell, owner of Tout le Monde Interiors, not only contributed to the design of the bathrooms, but hired an experienced, well-qualified contractor that essentially gutted both bathrooms and rebuilt them to the specifications. We hired Ruth to redesign our 1941 kitchen and dining room. We wanted to remove the wall between the two rooms to give us a more open, usable space, as well as upgrade the cabinets, electrical and appliances. Ruth was very easy to work with. She treated our smallish remodel as if it were her biggest and only one, which, I can assure you, it wasn't. She responded quickly to all phone and e-mail communications, and, kept all our appointments as promised. There was no hesitation when we asked for an opinion as to a particular detail. Her answers were immediate and confident. We took that as someone having been in the business for a long time. Having no experience with any contractors we asked Ruth for a suggestion. She suggested Anthony as someone she worked with many times in the past, so, we used his services. It's obvious by his attention to detail and craftsmanship that she works with only the best. Since completion we have had many friends and neighbors visit us. When they first laid eyes on the new design, to a person. they were in awe. The word "wow" was used a lot. We highly recommend Ruth to everyone who sees our new dining room/kitchen space, and, to anyone planning a future project.

We hired Ruth to expand our master bedroom and add a bath to an older home we had just purchased. She was fantastic to work with from design to finish. The work done was above expectations - load bearing wall was removed. All other contractors/quotes said I would have a beam in the middle of the room, but Ruth's builder Paul recessed the beam and you cannot tell there was ever a wall there. Custom bath came out perfect. They were also great about arranging the schedule so they could begin the work while we were away to minimize down time for us. Ruth and Paul did such a great job I had them back to add a new deck and new doors. They had no problem taking care of my desired customizations and everything came out great.

We paid Ruth to decorate three rooms in our home, and she only completed one. She left the job after we paid her full fee, and when she told us it was her last day, she also told us that we needed all new light fixtures and cabinet knobs in one of the rooms (shouldn’t she have told us that on the first day and not the last…we are still baffled by that one). Perhaps we were too indecisive or demanding for her tolerance, but if that was the case Ruth lacked the communication skills to tell us whatever her concerns were. Ruth also pressured us into buying expensive window treatments from her “preferred vendor”, which we did not really want (nor do we care for the ones she pushed on us for our bedroom). Since we had to hire a new decorator, we also learned where Ruth really failed. The new decorator we hired used picture boards and modern software to show us what our rooms would look like before we purchased anything. Unlike Ruth, our new decorator also went to school as an interior designer, was more professional with her communication, and was even less expensive. Ruth’s services are amateur, unprofessional, and overpriced. There are other decorators out there who are better.

My husband and I had just moved into a retirement cottage with white walls, high ceilings, an oriental rug that wouldn't fit, and furniture needing upholstery or replacing. We met with Ruth and found her friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to listen to what we wanted. We showed her pictures of our previous homes. Initially we planned to "do" the living room, entry, and sunroom only. In that first phase, she helped us trade in our oriental carpet for a better fit, pick window treatments, new upholstery, and select artwork for the room. She was willing to bring over as many books in as many trips as necessary until we found what we wanted. She met our desired deadline of having things in place for the holidays. Since we were so pleased with the results of those rooms, we asked her to provide window treatments for a study, office, master bedroom and bath. All rooms turned out better than our dreams. As a last stage, she advised on the framing/reframing of pictures and placement on the walls. We are delighted with the results; she was on time and within budget on our projects.

I have worked with Ruth on many occasions and would happily engage Tout Le Monde Interiors in the future. Ruth has done a number of projects for my home, and most recently my office. In fact, it is hard not to take credit when guests compliment my interior design capabilities. However, I always give Ruth the accolades she deserves! My favorite thing about working with Ruth is her willingness and ability to respect ‘my style.’ Rather than pushing the latest trends or her own personal preference, Ruth always takes the time to ‘figure me out’. Ruth has amazing talent for colors and patterns. Within minutes, Ruth can look at a room and come up with a wonderful solution. Finally, Ruth is honest, thoughtful and fulfills all of her commitments. I am a happy former and current client!

I've worked with Ruth for the past two years, having her decorate my house at Christmas and will continue to do so. I had a set of older decorations that needed replacing and Ruth has been purchasing new decorations for me over the past couple of years and her taste is excellent - elegant and tasteful - and she can decorate a room so it feels full without being overpowering. She is also very punctual and reliable, not something I can say about other contractors/professionals I've worked with, and that isn't something to be overlooked. I've highly recommend Ruth to anyone.

Ruth did a fabulous job redesigning our living room. She worked with me designing the curtains, then had a fantastic seamstress sew the curtains. It was a difficult lay out and expertly done. Ruth helped coordinate the furniture and colors. Her contacts and contractors were always professional, timely and did amazing work. The room looks classy, and is still very comfortable for the whole family to enjoy.

Ruth worked on two separate homes for me. I have found her to be conscientious, professional and a very good designer. Many times she went out of her way to ensure that I was satisfied and worked with many of the subcontractors to ensure that the work was superior. I would recommend her to anyone.
