We asked Lisa and Gregg for help in rethinking the interior of our home. We have a nice home about 2600 ft.² in Albuquerque which was built in 1993. We have lived in it since then. We had had some interior work done 10 years ago or more-particularly interior painting with lively colors. We had grown weary of that color scheme and we had never figured out how best to use the rooms or to place the furniture or to display artwork. Lisa and Gregg interviewed us and then came and looked at our house and in a very short order came up with a scheme-informed by their refined and sophisticated taste - to rework things, including new interior paint schemes and some new furniture in our living room/family room. In addition to some new furniture, a new rug or two and new paint, they reused a lot of what we already had but what emerged was the product of a coherent vision. The work began in March and was completed the first week of August. The delay was largely attributable the fact that the furniture was custom-made, particularly with upholstery in subtle patterns and colors to work with the overall paint scheme. The wait was worth it. Our house is so much more aesthetically informed . The color schemes, the design and placement of the furniture, a few new rugs and the placement of our artwork is just wonderful. We should have done this twenty years ago

We appreciate that Samuel Design had a backfield of employees and office/showroom, so we weren't dealing with someone who worked out of her house. Design was creative and they really listened to what we liked, what we were looking for. However, they were not shy to push back and they often lead us in an unexpected but good direction. Project was pretty much on time (for a full renovation) and there were no cost surprises. After project help was great. We didn't drop off of their radar when the big work was done. To the contrary, they still help us with changes, corrections, new projects.

We moved to Santa Fe from California 8 months ago with no idea what to do with our rather traditional furniture in our new Pueblo style home. Fortunately, we were recommended to Lisa Samuels Design! Lisa and Meghan arrived, listened to our tastes and preferences, and immediately went to work. They brought us several proposals, in several price ranges, and worked with us to create the look and style we wanted. Many of our pieces of furniture were reupholstered to fit the Pueblo style, and furniture was made by their excellent craftsmen to add to the design. They helped us arrange the home to maximize the furniture and art we had and incorporate the new pieces. The final piece was put in place by Greg, who selected and planted our outdoor pots in glorious blooms. They are a delight to work with...not intimidating, listen well and respond quickly to questions. You will be very happy with their firm!

I hired them to work on design for my house in Santa Fe, NM. They have helped make our house unique with fresh and bold design elements. They have also prevented us from going too far. They have been extremely helpful with colors. They also played a critical role in structural design decisions from the beginning of the project, which is a greater role than designers usually have. They are also wonderful people who I have enjoyed working with.

I am very happy to recommend Lisa and her team. We are working on a project that includes interior remodeling and furnishing of an entire house, complicated by my being remote and them having to work in a specific order to accomodate my family member/caretaker. My adult daughter, on seeing pictures of the work, said "It looks like you mom", a compliment to Lisa and the team for getting the aesthetic. Great work and I look forward to continuing to work with them.

Lisa Samuel and Greg Purdy are exceptional to work with. Their ability to walk into a space and immediately have a design vision is amazing. Whether it is a complete room remake or a combination of new and existing elements, their ability to understand your style and incorporate in their plan is a true talent. Samuel Design provided complete design services and furnishings for our new home in Santa Fe. The entire process lasted 15-16 months from first get-acquainted session to last item/service delivered. It seemed as though anything we needed, they could provide. Their attention to service and details was excellent.

So thankful to find Samuel Design Group on Houzz! The pictures of Lisa’s work gave me confidence that this was a superstar design team that does truly personal and customized work. Thankful that Meghan answered the phone late on a Friday afternoon and helped walk me through the process and made me feel comfortable about this team taking on my job. We had a project that was small, but we needed to move fast! We wanted elegant but also practical enough to suit a busy family. Our home needed everything - floor, paint, lighting, furniture, drapes as well as bling! Taking on color choices plus the details of managing a project from out of state was too daunting for me to do alone. Lisa and Meghan helped me with the overall vision as well as the creative details that make our home very personal. Now that a majority of the design work is done, and we are very pleased and comfortable in our home. There is no question this team will be part of ongoing final “bling" details as well as helping with any future home projects. I would highly recommend this company to anyone with a need for creative as well as practical solution - regardless of project size or complexity. The pictures on Houzz say it all.

Samuel Design is presently transforming our 80 year old Little Adobe House into a lovely Little Home. Their choices of furnishings were refreshing, original and enjoyable to behold. The locally crafted furniture is beautifully designed and constructed. The fabrics they chose are excellent quality , colorful and well coordinated. They are a pleasure to work with, respond quickly and great problem solvers. They have made transforming our home into a pleasant experience.

I have never had such a bad experience with a designer. The initial 4 week time frame turned into 2 1/2 months to get an initial budget. Prices were outrageous on furniture, I saved $8,300 finding it myself. A never ending list of excuses followed by money I had paid for a down payment on furniture being used for the design fee before getting approval on the invoice. Never got the design drawings despite paying he full design fee.
