Julie is absolutely amazing. She for the most part was given “carte blanche” in transforming my 34 year old home into a showplace. Since I live out of state, she created a beautiful design in her mind when she was hired. Julie organized the project, coordinated with contractors to make sure that every detail was perfect, purchased supplies, provided a detailed accounting. She met the budget within reason and completed a beautiful home transformation. I was blown away by the finished home. She is very organized, runs a tight timeline, communicates with the subcontractors, and was always available keep the me informed. The completed home was absolutely stunning. Julie was fantastic! She responded promptly to all my questions. At our first meeting, she listened to what I wanted in the kitchen remodel and had valuable design suggestions to enhance the kitchen remodel-refresh. Julie knew just where to find the items needed to make my kitchen look fantastic. She also works with a terrific crew for construction and cabinet refinishing. She was an excellent project manager and kept my stress at a very low level!

I actually found Julie right here on Houzz. One of her reviews mentioned how she was able to guide them through the process. She was exactly what I needed! I live in Southern California, but my son lives in my home in the Lafayette area. I bought the property in "as is" condition and it needed a complete overhaul. My son is not the type to go out and search through rug samples, paint samples, tile samples ... you get the picture. Julie was the ultimate professional. She balanced out the remodel journey between my son and I. From a "fixer upper" to a "showplace", Julie coordinated wood floors, new windows, window treatments, paint colors, lighting, doors. The bathroom remodels were nothing short of spectacular from new floors, shower tile and surrounds, countertops, and all the accessories (toilet, sinks, hardware). She also coordinated the exterior paint colors and siding. Her connections with vendors saved us SO much money. We also used her for referrals for a new contractor, and landscape person. I can not recommend her highly enough. She really will "Showcase Your Place."

Julie is simply the best! If I could give her 1,000 stars I would. We hired Julie to help us with our project in Walnut Creek. I found Julie on Houzz and after interviewing her over the phone, I decided to hire Julie because she seemed like a great designer and project manager. We remodeled all of the hardwood floors in our home, our kitchen, bathroom, and living room area. During the beginning stages, Julie helped us pick out all of our materials. My husband is very price conscious and Julie always respected our choices. She would show us options at different price points and was there every step of the way as we picked out everything. I loved all of the materials Julie helped us pick out. Everyone who has come over to see our new home always compliments on on how well our house flows together really beautifully. I really credit Julie and her great sense of design as to why our home looks so great. All of the vendors Julie recommended were great to deal with. Julie has lots of contacts and gets discounts at many places, which is so helpful. During the second phase of our project where we were executing everything, Julie was invaluable. We have a three year old so we didn't live in our house for 8 weeks. Julie helped manage our project. She was our eyes and ears on the ground when we couldn't be in our home. She worked with our contractor and foreman to ensure everything was being installed correctly. Our contractor was not easy to deal with at all and Julie worked extra hard to have a good working relationship with him. She was always professional while advocating for what the best thing would be for the kitchen to look great. She communicated with us all the time via WhatsApp, texts, and phone calls. She went above and beyond to order supplies for us and pick up things when necessary. Without Julie our project would have not ran as smoothly as it did and we certainly would have not finished on time. Julie has great expertise with knowing what is happening next on a project and what steps need to happen to make sure the project finishes on time. We had completely small remodel projects before but nothing to this scale. With Julie's experience and knowledge, I never once questioned that our project would turn out beautiful. One of the things I respect most about Julie's work style is that she is always willing to respect your opinion but will also give you her honest opinion. This is a delicate balance and Julie is the master of hearing her clients' voices while giving a great design opinion. Julie also helped with finishing details like picking out artwork and furniture Everything looks great! We are so happy with the final outcome and can't wait to welcome more of our friends and family into our beautiful new home. On top of it all, my three old loves Julie! She was commenting how nice Ms. Julie is. For me, Julie being great with my three year old was just the cherry on top of everything. We will certainly use Julie for future projects!

I truly, and with great appreciation, recommend Julie for ANY project you need help with. Her good taste, work ethic, and patience (yes, with me!) resulted in a beautiful and functional rethinking of my tiny 120 year old cottage. She totally maximized it’s potential to be a comfortable loving space. I could. not be more pleased. At present, it will be used as a rental, but more than likely I will be enjoying living there myself soon!

. I CANNOT RECOMMEND JULIE GIAMPAOULI HIGHLY ENOUGH. Julie guided me through the successful renovation of a 2b/2b 1300 sq ft condo w outdoor patio in Walnut Creek over the past 7 months. She is patient and persistent; does not get discouraged; maintains focus on the task at hand; and follows through on every part of the process. I’m my case this meant beginning at the beginning— with introducing me to a respected contractor— and sticking around to complete the furnishing selection after the renovation was finished. SELECTING THE CONTRACTOR She selected and helped me manage the general contractor, whom she had good prior experience with him. She facilitated communications between us and helped keep the project on track at every turn. And the contractor finished on time, and provided accurate time estimates all along. The project was a great success. A BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE SERVICES SHE PROVIDED AND HER SPECIAL SKILLS AND TALENTS After patiently but efficiently interviewing me and seeing the indoor and outdoor space, she developed and advised me — step-by-step, on the paint scheme, including coordinating colors and textures for each room. She guided me to local vendors with good track records for wall-to-wall carpet, motorized window coverings, kitchen tile, recessed and picture lighting, indoor and outdoor furniture, and more. And she helped me make specific choices in each case where I asked her help. Julie is flexible and switches gears easily as goals shift and timing changes. Most important, she aims to put herself in the client’s shoes and makes recommendations that best meet the client’s goals, budget and aesthetics. She works with the project goals, each specific task, the setting and budget presented —whether a small or large home; heirloom furniture that must stay, etc.; a limited budget. And she is a pro at smoothing ruffled feathers among parties — critical for keeping projects on track to completion. Her extensive experience in decorating and design consulting is wide-ranging; she listens closely to each client and is brilliant at matching clients’ goals with resources and ideas she can offer. Her extensive knowledge of local resources — from where to find an expert in an unusual niche to selecting among the numerous local carpet companies (for example) — is a HUGE asset for clients. She’s honest in offering specific opinions and general guidance, and professional to a fault. ( If her specific rec is rejected, she never takes offense.) Finally, she is unfailingly responsive to questions, requests and changes of course. In short, she is calm, quick, creative, kind, skilled and trustworthy. I hope she’ll be able to advise me on future projects.

Julie is simply amazing. I am the kind of person who does not have a vision for interior design for what I want or how to get there. But I do know what I like and don’t like, kind of like “I know it when I see it” approach. Well Julie is so insightful and knowledgeable that she was my vision, knew how to turn the vision into reality producing a master bathroom that far exceeded my expectations with an outcome that I simply loved. She’s like a mind reader! On top of having a very deep body of knowledge, she has a very deep toolbox of ideas and the instant resources and contacts to make the design come to fruition very efficiently and at a reasonable cost. It is clear she stays on top of the latest trends and technical advances while incorporating your preferences at the same time. She also is very hands on and works very well with the contractors to ensure the intended outcome is produced and done well. I would highly recommend Julie for any design project in any kind of home. She will take it from blah to brilliant!!
