I am a local designer, and support other professionals in this field as a part time job. I have worked with various experts in this field, but none of them with Maureen’s caliber. She is creative, unique in her ideas, practical, and diligent with communication and details. On every project I have assisted with, I learn something new. I appreciate her dedication to her clients, those she works with in the trade, and creating a collaborative environment for everyone involved. You will not be disappointed if you hire her. Maureen was so great to work with! She's knowledgeable, creative, decisive, and flexible. She helped us transform our stale living room into an amazing family space that we enjoy daily. She also consulted on a bathroom remodel and stepped in to manage the project while we were away. It was so much easier to make decisions with her expertise, and we love the result!

We worked with Maureen this past year during our 9 month remodel. Maureen advised us with our kitchen - layout, functionality, decor, fixtures, lighting, etc. Beyond that she also helped us with flooring, painting of the inside and outside of our house, bathroom decor including tiles, fixtures, lighting, etc. She was an excellent resource with regards to functionality of our kitchen, we love our kitchen and the layout that she helped us to create. She also has a beautiful eye for decor and reads her clients very well. Working with her is very easy and truly takes a major level of stress off of your plate. The design process was easy. She had great ideas, and worked with me to bring our vision to life. She recommended a contractor who was amazing and completely blew away all of my expectations. Her communication was awesome. I would get a communication once a week to lay out what to expect for that week, and she followed through on every task without fail. We completed the remodel within the timeline given, and she worked with the contractor to ensure that all punch list items were completed in a timely fashion. The remodel turned out so great! We have just come up on one month living in our partially remodeled kitchen done by Simply Situated Interiors, and we are so happy with how it turned out both aesthetically and functionally! We are so thankful for Maureen’s help with improving our layout and providing much needed design updates. We are first time homeowners and Maureen made the remodeling process seamless. She was always willing to make adjustments with respect to our budget (not an easy task). Maureen is a great communicator, and always made herself readily available when small unanticipated design questions arose onsite at the last minute. She is not only a great creative, but also an excellent project manager who worked closely with contractors and subcontractors to keep everything on a timeline. Everyone Maureen suggested for the job did an outstanding job as well. Maureen's unique combination of both design and project management skills make her a perfect fit for remodeling projects large and small. I reached out to Maureen for help with interior design and a number of vague project ideas for our new (first) house. With her help, we were able to accomplish so much in under 3 months, including interior color selection and painting, new kitchen shelving and backsplash tile, an assortment of contractor repair work, selecting/laying out/ordering furniture, window replacement, etc. Without Maureen's help, I would still be wasting hours of time on Pinterest and Yelp instead of settling in and enjoying our home. Maureen's guidance and contractor connections have been invaluable during this whole process. She is able to work well within time constraints, respects style/budget preferences, and is very easy to communicate with by text/phone/email. She helped explore project ideas and provided information and options, but was totally fine with putting a few larger projects aside after I decided I wasn't ready to pursue them yet -- with no pressure at all. We recently moved into a house that was stylistically very different than our previous house. Maureen had worked with us on designs and updates to prepare our last house for listing and sale, so we called her again for our bigger projects in our new house. I'm not at all exaggerating when I say I was in tears when we moved into our new house because I felt like our furniture looked dumb and I was overwhelmed by how loud the unfilled spaces were. In addition to the aesthetics, our kitchen had very few cabinets and was not very functional for a family of 5 that loves to cook. We asked Maureen to come help us fill the space and work on our kitchen to make it functional and less noisy. Maureen and Noelli came and walked through the house to get a feel for the spaces and understand our taste and needs with 3 busy little boys. They took notes and measurements, and we had a long discussion around options for the kitchen. They were so creative and had clear visions of what we could do, and over a short period of time, Maureen put together a list of furniture and rugs that would improve our space to fit our wants and needs for the main part of the house, and she coordinated with the best cabinet contractor and our favorite general contractor to create a much more functional kitchen. The entire project was done quickly and within budget, and it looks, sounds, and feels like the perfect marriage of our taste with the style of this house. We are so grateful for Maureen and Noelli, and we 100% recommend them for any projects - big or small!

Maureen is amazing to work with. She is extremely detail-oriented, creative, and organized. She has wonderful taste and pays attention to your personal style. Maureen treats her clients and vendors with the utmost respect. We recently did a make-over including new hardwood floors, refreshed bathroom/kitchen, and updated fireplace. She helped us with design, layout, material selection, and execution. We were out of town for the entire project. She managed the entire project flawlessly and kept everything on schedule so we could return to a beautiful "new" home. When I reached out to Maureen to help us solve how to uplevel our living room, little did I realize she would be the answer to all the final problems we wanted to iron out in our home. We have been progressively remodeling over the last few years and were completely sick of dealing with contractors. The final few problems in our home were not big enough to call a contractor, but were still bugging us. Not only did she help us create a beautiful new living room, including a great idea to tile our ugly brick fireplace with Zellige tile (which turned out SO beautifully) , she also project managed all those annoying little 'bits' - a new front door & garage door, replacing tile in our kitchen & bathroom floors, painting our exterior, sourcing blinds, etc. She introduced us to good quality, fairly priced suppliers. I particularly appreciated that she used local vendors, thus helping people in our neighborhood. She was as hands on or hands off as we needed and really respected our aesthetic. We are European so have a specific simple style which she adapted to seamlessly. She was also very adaptable in terms of budget which was not a feature of other interior designers I spoke to. I wholeheartedly recommend Maureen for projects big and small.

Maureen Shaw Bravo of Simply Situated Interiors worked with us to remodel two bathrooms and our breakfast area as well as repainting the entire interior of our house in Mountain View. She worked extensively with us to understand our design preferences and the desired outcome of the remodel. She has a great eye for design and color and she steered us to materials that conformed to our stated preferences, budget and esthetic but she did not hesitate to indicate when our choices were out of date or impractical. She saved us significant time in directing us to choices that fit our vision of what we wanted. She selected the contractors for both the bathroom remodel and the interior painting and both contractors turned out to be inspired choices. She worked well with both contractors and they, in turn, worked extremely well with us. They were professional, took pride in their workmanship, completed their work on schedule and were willing to make changes when asked. Overall, the whole process was extremely smooth and much better than our previous remodeling experiences. Maureen herself was easy to work with and was very communicative and responsive and managed to stay on budget. We are absolutely delighted with the outcome of the remodel and would love to work with her again given an opportunity.

I highly recommend Maureen for her interior design experience and knowledge as well as her project management skills. I was in desperate need of help doing a complete remodel of my main common area, about 1,000 sq ft, which included the kitchen, dining, family and living room and a new powder room. Eventually I realized, it was more than I could handle on my own. Her introduction conversations were great as we were able to discuss how we wanted to work together and how much I wanted her to take on (or not) and my budget. In my case, I wanted her to take on as much as she could - I highly valued that she provided project management which many interior designers do not do. I had A LOT of ideas and she helped me narrow down my ideas, ensure everything was cohesive throughout the house and the cherry on top was helping me order everything, working with and meeting vendors, getting quotes from multiple vendors, visiting stores for me, making payments, ensuring delivery came in, receiving the deliveries, double checking the delivery for damages, working with me and following up with vendors when I had feedback on what I didn't like about the installation or questions about the finishing. She's like a miracle worker. I had an idea on adding solid interior sliding glass doors and she found a vendor who could do it. I had an idea about hidden shelf doors, and she found a cabinet maker who could build it. I had a crazy idea about gradient tiles in the powder room going from dark pink to light pink to white, and she found a tiler who could get it done correctly. I also liked that we were able to support as many small and local businesses as much as possible. I also had a lot of issues with my contractors and she handled extremely tough conversations professionally and was always fair and reasonable. There were situations where we were surprised by my contractors where my contractors wouldn't help us, and she worked with me to help me solve the problem by finding other experienced professionals to provide guidance. What could've been even more frustration situations, her above and beyond help gave me hope that our project could be finished. In short, she saw and understood my vision by asking the right questions and she helped me execute everything with such detail and care that I'm now able to enjoy my dream home!
