Carolyn and Shannon are so wonderful to work with and we are incredibly happy with our home decor. My husband and I own a 1955 brick ranch in Forest Acres. After knocking out all the walls to create an open floorplan, we really needed help with the vision in our new open space. We needed guidance on how to arrange the room with fireplace at one end and make everything make sense. Carolyn and Shannon were responsive and professional from day one. They set and kept appointments and listened to us deeply to really understand what we were looking for and what our individual style needs were. Together, we collaborated on design, decore and furnishings within our budget and we are so happy with the results. Carolyn has wonderful taste and an eye for making a room 'work', adding depth, drama and texture as needed. Carolyn and Shannon are so nice and responsive too...which has been truly hard to find in Columbia. So glad we found her through Houzz!

Carolyn was amazing to work with! She helped my husband and me build our dream farmhouse in Heath Springs, SC. We worked 2 years creating an amazing barn with livable space and then the main house. Her detail and knowledge of product is fabulous plus she listens and is open to what you envision and she works hard to achieve your likes. Carolyn is easy going, accessible and promptly returns your calls, texts and emails. She's a great problem solver with very creative ideas. Her design skills are wonderful, she is caring, kind, and fun to work with. I'd have her do any project for me, big or small again in the future.

I absolutely recommend Carolyn. Throughout the project, she was mindful of our budget for our remodel. Carolyn has a keen eye for color and an innate sense of dimension and space. Ultimately, she took a house that was closed off with limited opportunities for change and created a bright and open interior within our budget. Our space now has open views and allows for flow of movement within our home. She went above my expectations in designing a space that not only felt sophisticated for adults but embraced the presence of our two young children. By adding small touches in other areas, she made the rest of our home feel cohesive with the major remodeled spaces. Carolyn is very attentive to detail, incorporates current colors and patterns, and helped us focus on the areas that would add the most value to our home. She is a pleasure to work with and has high standards for anyone she brings into your project. Our contractor, Lenny, was flawless in his construction. He attended to each detail, made every surface level and flush, and went above and beyond to give us a beautiful, finished product. We had such a positive experience that many of our colleagues have asked for her information as well.

We contacted Carolyn prior to purchasing our house about a kitchen renovation and she has been with us through the entire process helping us make sure we got exactly what we wanted. Our kitchen is now wrapping up and it’s everything we could have dreamed of! She handled all of the coordination and design and implementation and was very communicative with us about what was going on. She has also helped with taking our existing furniture and rearranging it to give us the most homey feeling where our house feels new without even having to buy anything. We have loved working with Carolyn and expect to continue the relationship throughout the next few years as we expand our family and continue working to make our house a home!

Carolyn did an awesome job. We moved into our new home in November 2019 and we asked her if she could get it furnished before Christmas. She worked very hard to get everything done for us so we could spend Christmas with our family. She is very detailed and has a wonderful personality that makes working with her fun.

Excellent designs and installations. The team is communicative, professional, and reliable. Carolyn is quite thorough in her consultations and ensures all the important details are covered and that her clients get what they want for their space.

Carolyn is excellent in what she does - she is diligent and very detailed with her work. She also excellent when it comes to working with clients and their budgets.

Carolyn did an amazing job converting our 2 car cinderblock garage into a beautiful living space. She designed and helped decorate our cottage with our personal style in mind. We found her easy to work with and very knowledgeable.

Beware. Project stated in May and is still not completed. Carolyn is more interested in protecting her contractors than the client. Our dissatisfaction with the quality of work was expressed at the time the work was completed, before final payment, and we were ignored and fed excuses. She was deceitful at the end of the project and lacked effective communication with the clients. We were told the final touch up paint would address the quality issues. She then paid her contractors, without our consent, and billed us for the total. She then exhorted payment before she would provide contact information for the painter. It has been over 2 months with no return contact from the painter, who was paid without our consent. And the poor quality finish of the shower tile job, was from her husband. STAY AWAY. I have photos and texts that support all claims. I would post photos if I new how.

Carolyn, is wonderful to work with. We love how she prepared a visual plan for us in the beginning of the process and has kept us up to date throughout the journey of updating our home. She has a true talent for seeing the finished product.

I have lived in my house for 28 years. This was my 1st home and was extremely outdated. I contacted Carolyn. She met with me and we discussed what I wanted to do. Tapping into her creativity, Carolyn redesigned my home from the inside to the outside. It is now a spectacular open floorplan modern home. I have all the things I wanted including: an open floorplan, solid surface counter tops, walk-in closets, a huge master bedroom and bath ( 3 times the size of my original bathroom). I have a large tile shower, dual vanities, and a 6ft jacuzzi tub. I love my home! You can certainly buy a new house or you can let Carolyn make your old home new again. The Simply Southern team gave me much more than I ever anticipated and increased the value of my home tremendously. I highly recommend them for your next project.

Carolyn did a excellent job guiding me through my remolding project. She helped me pick out floors and paint colors. She was very knowledgeable about different products that would meet my needs. She went over all the options available and I was able to make a informed decision. Dealing with Carolyn was a great experience and I would recommend her to anyone.

By far one of the most professional remodeling companies I had the pleasure to do business with! Before I had met Simple Southern at Home I had a couple of bad run ins with a few contractors that drove me into apoplexy with no hope in sight. Carolyn came in, understood the problem, developed a plan, and through her expertise and guidance put my home back together when no one else could. While they were here I had the honor of working with her partner Lenny, who not only taught me many life lessons but contracting skills as well. Between her and him, there is no one else I trust to work on my home and any that has done business with them I'm sure feel the same!

Carolyn is the total package. She assisted us from the conceptual design down to the last decorating details. Her knowledge and warm personality make her a joy to work with!
