Sophia and SCS designs helped me redo a small powder room and our main living room. Sophia really payed attention to how we used the rooms and what our needs were. She came up with a design and decor that fit our taste and needs. She really helped by picking a great line of furniture with pieces that were appropriate for the size of our room She set up our meeting with the furniture store to look at pieces and select fabrics-- and we ended up spending less money on furniture because she steered us to this specific line of furniture.. She helped with final paint color choices at the last minute as well. She facilitated a lot with samples and where to get tile etc. She came to the house and is easy to work with. She was also very flexible with how much you want her to do-- just design-- to pick everything. She has amazing taste and was super to work with. I heard about her from other clients who were so happy with a large kitchen remodel. I would enthusiastically recommend to all- she can do large or small projects.

Sophia was recommended by the broker who helped us buy our new house. This broker admitted she never works with interior designers, but if she did, she'd only work with Sophia. I had never hired a decorator before and was wary, but one year into our project, I honestly can't imagine working with anyone else. From our initial meeting, Sophia struck me as someone with an unusual background and skill set that combines scientific/visual analysis and an open-minded, endlessly creative outlook. She sees space in a way that many decorators simply do not. She is also focused, honest, down to earth and high energy --qualities I have come to rely on and draw from. I initially hired Sophia to decorate two floors of a hundred-year-old house to give it a more vibrant, stylish, mod look. She's more than delivered, and the house has been transformed. When we discovered that the third floor needs to be ripped out and redone, I knew I could only proceed if Sophia took charge. Selfishly, it was also an excuse to continue our collaboration. All in all, Sophia (and her miraculous project manager, Mary) is a delight to work with -- a consummate professional who makes you feel as if you're her only client.

Most recently we called Sophia to design the interior of our new house. Previously she had created an inviting, serene and one of kind home for us in Naples, Florida. Sophia has a gift for crafting spaces that are both comfortable and uniquely beautiful. She uses an interesting mix of color, pattern, and texture in her designs and has managed to seamlessly integrate our existing artwork and other important furnishings. She always takes time to find the best piece for the space and the budget and pays attention to crucial details . She also successfully managed the sub-contractors involved in our design projects. We love our home and will continue to use Sophia for ongoing work.

Sophia has transformed our house into a bright fresh open living space. She suggested widening some spaces between rooms in our 37 year old traditional colonial. This openness, choice of new wall colors, light kitchen counter and backsplash has given it a fresh new look and feel. Sophia drew up the design and helped select new furniture, curtains, carpets and accessories with our taste and budget in mind. She has been a pleasure to work with. We would highly recommend her services.

We presented Sophia with the challenge of modernizing a master bed and bath in an old victorian home; these rooms have windows/stained glass/steam radiators at every turn making it difficult to use walls and creating a great deal of wasted space. Sophia was able to make these rooms functional structurally as well as magazine beautiful esthetically. My husband and I were impressed that Sophia could come into our home, and listen to the differing wants/needs of the husband and the wife, be pleasantly direct about suggesting her ideas, but still hear both of us. She picked up on our esthetic very well. We used pinterest and houzz boards to communicate ideas. She worked on all levels -- the finances, the design and our needs -- and heard us,and guided us. We had challenging sub- contractors and Sophia was our advocate. Sophia managed a myriad of personalities; she was able to communicate well and knows how to work with contractors, vendors, etc. Sophia is truly one to trust in designing a home project and we will happily work with her again in the future.

Sophia has vision beyond what I, as the client, can define; she thinks beyond the project. We asked Sophia to update our kitchen, but right away she said, ‘You need a mudroom.’ We didn’t think there was space, but she created the space, and opened up the walls. She knew that everyday life with kids is messy, and a place to store all our stuff would be crucial. It really did change our lives for the better. She is so talented and a pleasure to work with. We are excited to be working with Sophia again on additional projects.

SCS Design helped me with the renovations of 2 home projects: a family room and a very small bathroom. Both went very smoothly because of Sophia. She is very knowledgeable about styling, design, architecture,... She came up with flooring and tile in my bathroom that would have bogged me down with decision-making. She found the special vanity I needed for my tight space and saved me time and money on having one custom built. She basically saved me time, stress, and money on both projects. Definitely worth hiring!

I am very impressed with SCS design. Two years ago, my kitchen was destroyed by a fire. Sophia was recommended to us. She created a large kitchen feel in a small space, with all of the modern amenities. but with the style blending well into a 115 year old house. The old kitchen never worked and was not a pleasant space; the new one is our favorite room. Because of her excellent work, we have engaged her again, this time to design a deck and outdoor living area in a limited and unusual shaped space.

Whether you need a whole new interior, a new kitchen, or an incredible source for fabrics, wallcovering, flooring, etc., Sophia knows that successful design is a feeling, not just a look. She understands the process of design as well as any designer I have worked with. She sees the big picture first and can give you a clear understanding of what will and will not work in your space. In addtion to being able to listen to her clients, she has analytical skills, and experience managing budgets and contractors. As a product designer, I am incredibly impressed that she has sourced EVERYTHING! Fabrics, wallpaper, building materials, etc.- from small boutique studios to the big manufactuers spanning all budgets.

SCS design provided floor plans for a complete redesign of a kitchen/full bath/ laundry room into a kitchen, mudroom, and half bath. This included moving windows, entry ways and walls and creating an incredibly beautiful and functional space. They also provided assistance in choosing color scheme, fixtures, cabinets, tile, granite and accessories.
