The Strandemo team is a pleasure to work with! I have completed a remodel of my home with them and we are currently working on building a new house. In just one example, I was remodeling my house and Terry told me my contractor had suggested to her that so much more could be achieved in the architectural design. I am working with Terry Strandemo on my home remodel. She has made this journey almost stress free if that is possible. Everyone loves her- from contractors, vendors we bought materials from, to our family. She is Mimi to my children and the reason I wanted to become a designer. She made ripping apart our home fun instead of a headache. If you live in San Diego and looking for a designer, working with Terri is a privilege. She knows her stuff- and you can relax and know that you're in the best possible hands. She introduced us to the most amazing custom tiles to hand dyed textiles which all made our home what it is today, and have helped shape the way I design now.

Terry has a great eye. I am so happy with how our project (master bath, closet, bedroom) came out! The design was perfect for our limited space-- the layout along with the cabinet design. The materials and colors are beautiful.

Terry and her team have been instrumental in the design and construction of our life. Her extensive experience and knowledge with construction and architecture, Lord with color, fabric I can't even tell you what else except everything helped in directing us from start to finish with products that are wonderful. She understood our vision for our home (probably before we did) and added different touches and features to bring that vision to life that we didn't even know we wanted. She worked closely with our architect on our first project (who was who suggested we interview her) and contractor on every aspect. She was an integral part of the design. Terry and her staff were always available to us as well as to our construction team, which make projects really grow. Our first project was a second home out of town, where my husband and I were visiting every month or so while it was being designed and constructed. Her team worked closely with the AIA and contractor/superintendent to follow through on things we had said were important. The quality of the end product was perfect. From there, we asked her to come to our home town to help us with a teardown of our main home and we ended up bringing our original AIA here (now he was out of town) and produced an incredible home. We had an odd lot on a bayou that both ASID (Terry) and AIA worked out an incredible plan. Both worked with our local contractor to help and revise the project as we moved along to produce an incredible home. What I have appreciated is that Terry came into our jobs trying to make our household work in the new one: she didn't insist (as many designers do) that we get rid of this and that, but worked to incorporate our things into the design of the project. One of her greatest attributes is in advising us that we don't need to necessarily do all that we think we do. She is very cost conscious and will many times advise that we don't need to spend on X because it won't be worth the money spent. Or, conversely, if you do Y you will get a maximum bang for the buck. Yes, a husband who enjoys a new project invited her to come check out a very modest "Fish Camp" and Terry recommend the minimal effort. Alas, we are working on that one now. She is a hard worker, a diligent researcher and produces whatever direction one seems to fly. I can't recommend her any further than that. She has an innate ability to pull out the result one doesn't even know one wants as well as realize the dream one has had.

Terry and her staff are an absolute delight. Terry is a very talented designer and I have greatly enjoyed working with her. She gets along well with our architect and builder, and her network of artisans is amazing. I would highly recommend her and it will be the best decision that you will make for your project.

My husband and I were living in NY and building a home in CA. We desperately needed someone who was experienced in every detail from the design process to the build. We loved her ideas and options offered; her responsive communication; her respect for our needs, budget, and style; her honesty; her experienced eye and her patience; and the fun she offers while the project is being completed. I do not know how many stars can be given, but whatever that may be I give the maximum, plus a few more!

I have been working with Terry for the past 2 years. She has been our Interior Designer on Spec Homes we have been building and selling in the La Jolla neighborhood area of San Diego. Terry came into our major remodeling project when we had a number of challenges in the construction process. At this time, the project was on the verge of falling apart; guidance and cooperation was needed. When Terry joined the team, her expertise in a variety of areas really pulled the various contractors, and overall project, together. She was able to culminate our vision, the architect’s plans, the contractors‘ assignments, and her talents into one cohesive and beautiful home. Terry has been such an important part of our extensive remodel. She has a great deal of experience with all design styles and easily adapts to her clients desires. When one of the trades has a detailed architectural question, Terry knows exactly what is being said and what is needed. When we have had a challenge she has several different solutions to suggest. She and her firm do beautiful detailed drawings for which the trades are very grateful. How many times have I heard her respond to a question with "Just look at the drawings. It is all there". She is truly a master at her craft. There are Interior Decorators and there are Interior Designers. Terry is a star in the latter category.

Terry took my husbands and my custom home home project on with the skills of Artist, Advisor, Team Player, Humor, Patience, Listener, & more . She masterfully helped to integrate our collection of Carved doors,& ceilings, furniture, Art etc. with new purchases. As clients who are Very Hands on with definite ideas she gracefully guided us to be a Team, with her @ the Helm to insure the outcome was beautifully Harmonious, elegant, timeless yet very warm & inviting.

Terry helped me with my remodel and decorating. She has a great architectural background so could really oversee many things. She drew out cabinets etc. she is much much more than a decorator. She is easy going, kind and in the end she wants you to like the final product. She never tries to push you a certain way but listens, suggests things but doesn't mind if you choose something else. I am sure I will be using her again!
