We initially hired Stylehaven Interior Design to renovate our Point Grey bedroom (we added a gas fireplace, built-ins and refurnished the room) Our second project working together involved Sylvia helping us to furnish our new home. Sylvia has an refined eye and innate understanding of how colors, textures, and the scale of furniture pieces works within a room. She was immediately able to point out what was working what areas needed improvement. She's approachable, knowledgeable and professional. Utilizing key pieces we brought to the new home she created an elegant, layered and luxurious look through the use of art, accessories, and custom furniture . After a previous successful renovation project with Stylehaven Interior Design we re-hired to redesign our home in Kitsilano. Our project involved removing walls to create an open concept and Sylvia worked alongside our contractor to design a beautiful new home for our family. Throughout the design process, we felt Sylvia really listened to our needs and came up with innovative design solutions for some of the challenges we faced. Her approach was collaborative and we are so thrilled with the results that are a true reflection of our tastes with some added design flair. Sylvia came in to my home and immediately made me relax about what had become quite overwhelming. I needed design consultancy pre renovation for a new kitchen. She listened to all of my ‘wants’ for a new kitchen and very quickly came up with a design that would look great, meet the needs of a big, busy family and work with the existing architectural features of the home. Sylvia not only drew out the design and layout but also gave color and finish options. Two years after the successful kitchen renovation I rehired her to select paint for our entire home. She listened to our needs and selected a beautiful color scheme which I know I could not have done with out her expertise. Through all of this, Sylvia was always so pleasant and patient with my personal preferences. She was very knowledgeable and clearly communicated why certain colours worked or would not work. Sylvia did a fantastic job for us designing our master bathroom. She listened to what we wanted and guided our decisions. We were on vacation during part of our remodel and Sylvia checked in with the contractor, made sure the tile was put in correctly and oversees all the details for us. We hired Sylvia at Stylehaven to help “finish” our house. We had completed a partial renovation when we moved in 4 years ago and the house looked very disjointed. It had elements of both country and modern style, but nothing tying the styles together. Sylvia sourced the perfect hardwood flooring for our entire main floor that would set the tone for the entire house. She found dining furniture and lighting transforming our confused space into a comfortable, home-y abode with both modern and farmhouse elements tied together perfectly. There are a few key things that I really liked about the way Sylvia worked: 1. Budget Sylvia helped prepare a realistic budget for the project and helped us stay on track. I really liked that she was able to suggest where to save and where to spend. 2. Online Vision Boards I am a visual person and so being able to see the proposed design vision was very helpful to me. We collaborated via email, Houzz and Pinterest, and she created a beautiful design vision board. Not all designers do this and it was absolutely key for me. I am so happy with the end result of our project and am so grateful that we hired Stylehaven to help. We are looking forward to having her back to help with our backyard project this spring.

After relocating to Vancouver from Toronto, I purchased a downtown condo and hired Stylehaven to design and furnish my new home. As a designer, Sylvia is approachable, knowledgeable and talented.
