Sundance Colors

I met Rachel at Knight's Paint in Grass Valley for a color consultation. I was hoping to find the right color for my mom's bedroom. I already knew that I was looking for something along the Teal spectrum, and I wanted it to flow organically with the other Benjamin Moore colors I'd used throughout the living space. I showed her photos of my mom's bedroom as well as the other colors in the house. It took her two seconds to come up with the exact right color for the room -- a color that I would have never been able to come up with on my own: Palladian Blue. My mom loves it, and the room now has a serene and lovely feel to it. I am so grateful for her help with this project. Denise

Highly recommended. I knew Rachel from California and when we moved to Italy into an apartment in the old part of Rome, we flew her over to help us decorate and outfit it. I trust her aesthetic sense, practicality, and experience. We have a classical art collection from around the world, so we needed a designer who would have the vision necessary to tie it all together, give it unity in our space. At times I could not quite visualize the impact of her recommendations, but I trusted her, and in the end, the results exceeded my expectations! The way she put together art, color, and light made each space in our apartment both inspiring and comfortable to live in. Rachel helped us prioritize and make decisions, pointing out what was worth the investment and what was not. She worked on the colors, of course, but also coordinated with our painter, electrician, cabinetmaker, furniture stores, and curtain makers. She established good communication with everyone involved and followed up on every detail. She’s not based in Rome, but somehow managed to find and procure all kinds of treasures—antique light fixtures, side lamps, curtains, down to the smallest details such as napkins, placemats, candles, and plants for every space with beautiful cachepots! I love the Afghan rugs and unique light fixtures she found for us. Finally, looking back, the very best thing about our experience with Rachel was that she was able to help me and my partner get on the same page and develop a shared vision. We hired Rachel for our new home building process. Initially for help with paint colors her knowledge and help with the building process went far beyond. Rachel (pronounced Ra-kell) was the most amazing consultant I used in designing and building my new 1550 sq. ft, 2BR2BA straw bale house. At first I was a bit resistant, but my contractor prevailed that I at least listen to what she had to say. I am SOOOO glad that I did. her sense of color and ability to match it to my dreams and my environment were wonderful. The most amazing part of this experience was her idea to have a custom made hanging chandelier/light fixture over the kitchen island. It was a brilliant idea and has become the fabulous focal point of our main room (living, dining, and kitchen: a 27' diameter octagon). Every time I turn it on, which is almost all the time, I marvel at how much it has added to the warmth of the room. Do not hesitate to have her be your Consultant. You will NOT be disappointed!!!

Raquel was easy to work with and helped to bring some life to our veterinary hospital. She came to us with many color swatch choices and worked with us on colors till we were all happy. I also used her for my house residence recently!

After 20 years living in our Grass Valley home my husband I decided to sell and move out of the area. At the recommendation of Knight’s Paints in GV we hired Rachel of Sundance Colors to help us select the best color to paint our home. On site she considered every aspect of the house-size, lighting, shadows, tree coverage, curb appeal etc and the final color selection was given to the painters and the home colors turned out GORGEOUS!! We then hired Rachel to help us with staging our home. As we took notes she meticulously went through every room, closet and drawer telling us exactly how to organize and declutter the home. Ie. placing hanging clothes in the closet in color order, placement of towels in the bathrooms, using essential oils to help the home smell fresh and welcoming, Placement of furniture, which pictures to take down,etc We then went outside and continued with the outside of the house!! Most importantly. she explained WHY these changes she was recommending would help our home sell faster and for more money. We were convinced that the 4 hours she spent with us was WELL worth the fee she charged. We buckled down and did everything she suggested. When we were done the home looked spacious, clean and uncluttered. The yard looked colorful and inviting. The curb appeal was pretty and inviting. The great news is that our home sold in ONE day for over the asking price!! There is no doubt in our minds that Rachel’s staging is what helped it all to happen. We highly recommend Rachel to anyone in need of help with colors or staging. And personally, we totally enjoyed our time with her. She is thoughtful, kind, thorough and funny. We felt we had made a new friend!!!
