My complete kitchen remodel was completed in just 5 weeks. All of the subcontractors were courteous, considerate, and skilled. I think the designers were excellent in the amount of choice I was given as well as the selections made for me, I could not be happier that I used Sweetlake Interior Design,

Lori and Ciera did a wonderful job of guiding me through my kitchen remodel. Their design expertise was invaluable. They worked with me to hear my needs for the kitchen and used their considerable expertise to draw up an excellent plan. The final results are spectacular. I was prepared for a much longer time without the use of the kitchen, but the entire project took 5 weeks rather than the 6-8 they projected. This included the time to remove a wall, replace all cabinetry, plumbing, electrical, sheetrock, and painting.
The contractors they sent out were knowledgeable and efficient. Every man working in my home was pleasant, mannerly, and honest.
I highly recommend Sweetlake!

She has everything you want and need to give you the house of your dreams. Her designs are unique and individualized based on your desires. She provides you with all of the information needed to make an educated decision when selecting items for your home. If you aren’t sure what direction you should go, she will patiently work with you until you are happy. She turns challenging areas into works of art.

We recently completed a project with Sweetlake Interior Design. Our 1970’s
Contemporary home had a fabulous space to work with, but very dated. Lori and her team remodeled 3 bathrooms, kitchen with custom cabinetry, sunken den removed, new staircase, electrical, plumbing, painting, and sheetrock. Our space was opened to create a beautiful flow for entertainment and family comfort. The finished remodel is amazing. The attention to design and detail is breathtaking. My husband and I highly recommend Lori and her team. The attention and follow through is amazing, and of the highest quality of workmanship.

Do NOT use Sweetlake. Sweetlake is more focused on pictures that look good than quality designs and work. They used poor quality materials. They didn't follow our design preferences. We asked for primary colors and they insisted on installing mauve everywhere. They bought materials without consulting with us. They installed outdoor tile for inside our home and hard wall tile for our flooring which was extremely slippery. They promised our countertops wouldn't chip or stain but they do both very easily. They also make the worst quality and least comfortable furniture at the highest price possible.

Regarding your concerns, I’d like to address each point:
1. Project Completion Date: Our records indicate that your project was completed in early 2020, and you have not contacted our company since we completed the final checklist. We take pride in delivering timely and quality work to our clients.
2. Communication: We regret any misunderstanding. We have not received any direct communication from you regarding concerns since our final invoicing and completion of the project at the beginning of Covid. We encourage open dialogue and would be happy to address any issues promptly. We sent multiple refunds for approved items that you were unhappy with. This was our last communication. Maybe it was because you went into business with my design partner of seven years, plus.
3. Materials Approval: The materials used in your project were approved in meetings and selected based on industry standards and quality. We strive to provide our clients with the best possible materials.
4. General Contractor (Builder): Sweetlake was not the general contractor for your project. We were responsible for specific aspects of the design and execution.
5. Design Preferences: You approved and authorized payment for all aspects. We always aim to create spaces that reflect our client’s vision while maintaining functionality and aesthetics.
6. Color Selection: Our team follows design principles and considers color harmony. We apologize if the mauve we call raspberry color accessory accents didn't meet your expectations. Although many options were presented, these were chosen in our meetings.
7. Material Consultation: We apologize if there was any oversight in material selection. We value client input and will strive to improve our communication in the future.
8. Flooring Tiles: We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the slippery flooring. All hard tile flooring can become slippery when wet. 9. Countertops: The countertop material is designed to be durable, but all porcelain, quartz, or granite are not resistant to chipping. This usually occurs around the sink and mitered edges from hitting these areas with pots and pans with everyday use. The material used in your home can be repaired if chipping has occurred. This is standard maintenance. You can contact Siri Granite in Houston if you'd like to schedule maintenance. They will be familiar with your project. The material can be cleaned with bleach wipes to lift stubborn stains; this will not damage the surface. We discussed this during our final walk-through.
10. Furniture Quality: We appreciate your feedback regarding quality and comfort, which is our top priority. We made all requested changes to the sofa cushions to reach the expected level of comfort. These change requests were completed at no additional charge and approved after sitting on the furniture in the home.

I would like to give Sweetlake Interior Design my highest recommendation. We were looking to conduct a major renovation and expansion of a 5,000 sqft home that we had just purchased, and had contacted 5 different designers and builders back in late 2020 and early 2021. Lori and her team at Sweetlake easily won us over with their enthusiasm, deep expertise in both design and construction, modern aesthetic, and creativity. As we look back now, having worked closely with Lori during the last 21 months, we are very grateful because she truly helped us create the house of our dreams!
We go to Lori with EVERYTHING related to our property – from design plans to City permitting to structural work (wall removal, foundation repair, pouring concrete slab) to mechanical work (plumbing, electrical, air conditioning/heating) to insulation, sheetrock, interior finishes (tile, flooring, fixtures) to exterior (stucco, drainage, wood decks) – basically ANY aspect of the home design and construction process. Lori has been doing this for 25+ years, and has gained tremendous experience and know-how, as well as relationships with a number of competent and cost-competitive subcontractors. In addition, post-construction phase, Lori is a wonderful resource when it comes to furniture selection, design/construction or procurement, and even repair!
What we love about Lori is how down-to-earth she is, and how she is not afraid to do things herself and get “hands-on” to understand what is needed. One day, I found her in our bathroom on a high ladder, using a razor blade to scrape off glass glue from our wall tile. We have countless examples like this. I will also add that we have never felt pressure from Lori to spend more nor do anything more than we wanted to do. That said, since we love everything that Lori does for us, we keep thinking about more projects that we want to continue working with her on!
We have been recommending Lori to all our family and friends in Houston, but really wanted to write this review to express how satisfied we are as her clients! Please do not hesitate to work with Sweetlake Interior Design. We have complete trust in Lori and her ability to continue making our dreams a reality! Thank you Lori – you are the best!!!

I can’t speak highly enough about Lori and her team. Lori is professional(yet fun), attentive to all details and she has fabulous ideas.I had her remodel several rooms in my West U home and I was so pleased that she is doing a full gutting and remodeling of my Florida condo- including all the furnishings. Lori and Aurora are a great team! We loved how they designed our project and then continued on as the general contractors to do the work. Their subcontractors were reliable and completed the work sooner than scheduled. Lori and Aurora listened to us and worked with us each step of the way to ensure our satisfaction.

Lori and her team of Sweetlake Interior Design was absolutely wonderful. They were on time, professional, friendly and very attentive to details as it relates to their project, your home. On a personal note, we have to say that we were looking for a new bed for my husband's Raymond back and she invited us over to try her bed. Her husband, Ken was spot on and took time to show Raymond how the adjustable bed would help his back. Now she did not have to do that and that truly demonstrated to us that she really does care, She was willing to go the extra mile . Lori is very detailed, and very committed to her craft. She has an eye for the perfect design for you. We are so pleased with our new fireplace, powder room, master bedroom and bath. We have our own touch and it is absolutely majestic. It is beautiful and the Sweetlake team deserves many thanks. We are so appreciative. So THANK YOU!!

I hired Sweet Lake interiors to help me finish a new condo. Lori’s design advice was great and her subcontractros were excellent. The project was finished on time and the result is beautiful. The condo is modern but also warm and comfortable. I would highly recommend her service. We were so satisfied with her work that we also had her help with remodeling our house to get it ready for sale.

We contracted with Lori to completely redesign our master bathroom. After interviewing several other designers we selected Sweetlake Interior design because they were able to capture our vision of a modern, glamorous, yet functional master bath with their innovative and creative designs!! Lori was very attentive to every detail and was always available to address any issues that arose. She took the time to meet me at various vendors ( tile, plumbing etc...) to help select some of the finishes. Her contractors did a fantastic job especially her tile people, cabinet maker, electricians, and painters. I am so thrilled with my new master bathroom. It's like being in a spa every day!!

We had a great experience with Sweetlake Interior Design. Lori and her team remodeled our Master bathroom, 3 additional bathrooms, as well as some exterior updates and painting. The process went very smoothly and the end result was more than I could have imagined. Our Master Bathroom is amazing thanks to Lori's design ideas. We stayed within our budget and timeline. Overall, Sweetlake went above and beyond our expectations and we would definitely recommend them.

Lori and her team did a fabulous job not only remodeling my kitchen but designing the interior and choosing rugs and furniture. So much so that I just sold my house and the buyers want to buy my house with all the furniture! While it’s hard to let it go because I love it all, they said they chose my home because it was so beautifully done. A few years later and I am still able to call Lori for anything I need and she has always stood by her work.

The Artists Hands - Faux Finishes

I finally had the absolute pleasure of being able to work with Sweetlake Interior Design and the amazing Lori! I have admired their work for a long time now. I had an opportunity to refer Sweetlake Interior Design and Lori to a dear friend and client of my own. I warned Lori this would be a very demanding and challenging project. Without hesitation Lori and her amazing team set forth and designed what I call "chic - modern great Gatsby". My friend/client was beyond thrilled with the proposed design and all of the selections. Lori's job was made difficult by my friend/client having had a terrible previous experience with a major interior remodeling project. Words simply fail me when it comes to expressing my sincere gratitude for Lori and all of her talented and dedicated contractors. It's no secret that projects can have bumps in the road. With any problems that occurred on this project, I watched Lori literally dive in and resolve it immediately. Lori makes no excuses. She resolves issues. She designs the most incredible living environments that are so tailored and perfectly echo her clients personalities. Lori truly listens to her clients and delivers magical interiors!! Her passion, dedication and determination to deliver only the best to her clients is unparalleled. I feel blessed for having finally met Lori and her team. I am excited to work with them again in the near future. I don't easily recommend people, though I can say that you are truly missing out if you don't consider Sweetlak Interior Design for your next project. They will inspire you, amaze you and deliver an interior beyond your expectations!! Thank you Lori!! You gave a family that are very dear to me, an incredible home that they can now enjoy.

Lori and Aurora did a great job on our remodel! They brought great ideas to the table and really took our likes/dislikes into consideration. Our kitchen turned out awesome with a huge island! Our remodel linked into the guest bath, mater bath and dining room since they did such a good job!!

Working with Lori was such a great experience! We were in the middle of relocating to Houston from another country and we left the renovation of our master bathroom/study/closet in her capable hands while we were busy moving. It was a relief to find someone who not only came up with unique, amazing renovation ideas but who also capably project managed the entire renovation.
Picking out materials and colours was a breeze with her knowledge of suppliers in the Houston area and her trades were amazing at making her renovation vision a reality. The project was finished before our projected deadline and any changes in the budget were always communicated to us in a timely manner. Lori also gave us many options in regards to pricing so we could choose to spend more or less on each purchase for the renovation.
Overall, we could not be more pleased with how this renovation turned out and we would recommend Lori and her Sweetlake Interior Design company without hesitation!

I have been extremely pleased with Lori. She is very talented and it is extremely easy to work with her. From our first discussion, she really listened and payed close attention to my ideas for our home. She shared her expertise and a world of resources (fabrics, paint colors, tile, flooring, rugs, etc) to pull the project together, all the while maintaining my overall vision. Last fall, after extensive reviews of photos and client comments on Houzz, followed up by telephone calls and meetings with several design Professionals, we decided to hire Lori to help us remodel our master bathroom, and replace carpets with wood flooring. The results were all we were hoping for and more! Lori was great to work with on the bathroom design: new layout and materials selection. She was patient working with us to combine her vision with our desires and expectations. Workers she employed on our project were expert at their craft and easy to work with. The tiling and carpentry were beautifully done. The project was completed on schedule and on budget. We are very happy with the result. Thank you, Lori and the Team!

My husband and I had the good fortune of finding SWEETLAKE INTERIOR DESIGN by Lori Toups on HOUZZ in July 2014. Thank you HOUZZ!! We were building a home in a Del Webb community to be near our family. Even though it was a builder's home with limited choices we knew we needed professional help. The day after buying our lot Lori met us at the design center to select all flooring, counters, cabinets, hardware and paint choices. She was invaluable in the allowed 2 hour appointment. Her suggestions and advice were impressive while saving us from making costly mistakes. We continued working with Lori for the next 6 months to design and build a home office, cabinetry, electrical systems and choose home furnishings. Her work could not begin until after closing on our home and when the closing was moved forward a month Lori skillfully and cheerfully rearranged all schedules. Quite an accomplishment! She has always worked hard for us, been more than accommodating and very respectful of our budget. Her workmen have been excellent and respectful of our home. Several friends and neighbors have admired and complimented the work done and have requested contact information for Lori and SWEETLAKE INTERIOR DESIGN. Lori has a well trained valuable team that work almost as hard as she does. She is extremely talented in both design and construction. We have in the past built several large custom homes and by far Lori has to be the best interior designer/contractor we have used. She definitely has been the most accommodating! We will be using SWEETLAKE INTERIOR DESIGN for a master bath redesign in early 2015. Until then we want to enjoy the beautiful home Lori helped to create for us!

Sweetlake Interior design is an excellent company to work with. My job was very involved...completely gutting and redesigning the kitchen, new tile floors in 3 large rooms, 2 large built ins, painting almost all rooms as well as purchasing new furniture and decorating. Lori, the owner, is very professional and friendly and has the most amazing crew of contractors of whom she oversees beautifully. Each of the head contractors are very skilled at what they do and supervise their crews accordingly. Probably the most rewarding experience was with my designer Aurora. She is extremely talented and easy to work with. From the first day she listened carefully to me and very quickly understood my tastes and preferences. She designed the kitchen of my dreams, not to mention creating a gorgeous flow from room to room that is breathtaking. She helped me choose furniture and decor and made purchasing these very easy. Aurora worked very closely on a daily basis with the crew and was consistent in achieving quality in every level of construction and design. The written contract with Sweetlake was very thorough and itemized and there were no surprises. The whole job went very smoothly and was completed in less time than estimated. I would highly recommend Sweetlake Intereror Design to anyone who is looking for a desginer. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It is a pleasure working with Lori and her crews. She LISTENS to our ideas and preferences then guides us in directions we would never have considered. Our first project changed wall colors, light fixtures, added wallpaper, crown molding and tile work as well as some new furniture and accents. Her organization with the crews had the work completed in 8 days when we had expected 2 weeks. The quality of the work was excellent and done very professionally. With hundreds of books of wallpaper and fabrics to choose from, she was able to narrow it down and we found exactly what we wanted. We are now beginning on the next design project and she is just as innovative and attentive as the first one.

I hired Sweet Lake Interior Design to plan and remodel by traditional bathroom with garden tub and shower, into a modern large shower dream bathroom. Lori was able to take my ideas and wishes and transform them into reality. She was very passionate about my project. We love the results.

Lori has a keen eye for lines, scale and all the details required to bring a project to the next level. She was involved in designing the interior finishes of our new home from the framing stage. My husband and I were so thrilled with the final result, we hired Lori and staff to furnish and decorate the home, as well! Her creativity, combined with close attention to cost, helped us create a place we love to live in!

I have never written an online review but I thought it was extremely important to alert people to the outstanding job Lori and her crews did for me. I originally hired her to renovate my master bathroom and closet. As time proceeded, I had her update my son's bathroom, redesign my bedroom and add hardwood floors. Lori is an extremely talented designer as can be seen from her work on Houzz. But more than that, her customer service is outstanding. She listens and learns about what you as the customer wants. This was made clear to me when she presented to me her first design, which was was exactly what I had in mind. She worked closely with me throughout the project, and did everything within her power to make the renovation as painless as possible. She made sure that the crew was unobtrusive so that I and my family could continue our lives with minimal disruption. Despite my continued additions to the project, she finished at the time she said she would. The results were beyond my expectations. I enthusiastically give Lori the highest recommendation.

Lori has been working with me on several projects since January 2012. The projects have ranged from interior makeovers to complete home renovation. I had some old and tired sentimental pieces of furniture that I could not part with and with Lori's creative ideas, they are now fresh and new. The home renovation projects have ranged from interior design to complete interior demolition. Her ideas, & design, and product selection are innovative and have all been done with my tastes, needs and budget in mind. Here project management skills are faultless. She has a team that appreciates her and is willing to work until the job is complete not to forget to mention, they keep the worksite neat and clean at the end of each day. I have and will continue to recommend Lori for all design needs.

Before we started the complete remodeling of the new house we bought, I hired Lori to help me with the design, material selection, and construction consultation. She is talented, creative, professional and a pleasure to work with. She patiently guided me through the entire process of the remodeling including redesign of 8 bathrooms, 7 fireplaces, kitchen, cabinets and much more. She is budget minded and very resourceful. She talked me out of making unnecessary changes and helped me to see the beauty and value of the existing structure. On the other hand, she pointed out many easy modifications that add great value. Her style is collaborative. With her encouragement, I came out of my comfort zone, adopted many of her design ideas that I could never thought of on my own and they turned out great and uniquely ours! We love the results. I would highly recommend Lori to anyone who is considering remodeling. She is full of great ideas and has the ability to carry the ideas through through reality. I am looking forward to continuing to work with Lori on furniture selection next.

In 2018, I hired Lori to remodel my master suite, in particular the master bathroom. She had remodeled my master bath in 2013 and I had loved working with her! I was wowed by my bathroom every time I would come in... well, she made her magic happen again and we are super happy with the results of our 2nd project with her! I am a very picky perfectionist and see anything that is off, even 1mm off, and Lori's work is perfect! She has an amazing attention to detail! 5 years after the first project, she still worked with the same tile guys, plumber and painters and they are all very nice, trustworthy and caring. They work hard to make things as perfect as possible! Lori does a great job in her design to reconcile my transitional, a bit modern, style with my husband's very traditional style. She also very respectful of my budget and does not hesitate to find more budget friendly solutions when needed, while also counseling us well for items that are worth splurging on to get the best result! There are a few items on which we took a lot of time to make a decision (like the chandelier) and she was super patient with us! Finally, a project with her is so low stress, because she takes care of everything really well and if there is ever a problem or hurdle, she takes care of it right away. I would come home from work and text her a pic of something I noticed with a question and she would answer within 15 minutes even in the evening. For the 2 overwhelmed working parents that we are, her commitment to make the project stress free for us was huge! We plan to hire Lori again for our kitchen and can't wait to start the project!

I hired Sweetlake Interior initially to do LED Light design in my kitchen, sunroom and play room. It is absolutely stunning.
Lori really took the time to listen what my husband and I wanted and we let her get started on our renovation. She put down hardwoods throughout the first story and created a fabulous fireplace of split face stone on the outside and a tempered polished glass on the inside. I am so pleased with her professionialism and workmanlike manner, i could not even think of working with someone else. She truly is the best. My husband and I feel that our money was well spent. My family thanks you and your team for making our dreams reality.

I met Lori through a neighbor who used her and fell in love with her work at their home. She has done 2 projects for me one was my husband office and now our new home. Lori has a way of taking your ideals and putting her special spin on it and you then have this great space that you love. Lori has an eye to detail and color and she knows how to bring it all together . She is reliable and efficient in her work. Lori also is fair and honest with the cost that she charges and you feel like you were well taken care of.

We initially contacted Lori Toups Fenton of Sweetlake Interior Design to help us with the design aspect of our Master Bathroom and custom closet remodel. From the minute Lori arrived and looked at our tired, dated bathroom her creative juices started to flow. She gave us exactly what we had in mind for our spa retreat and then some. Lori is awesome to work with, we are so impressed by her energy, creativity, attention to detail and keeping within budget. We contracted Lori to manage the whole project and her team are The Best - contentious, courteous, always on time and on the job each day, which made the whole process a pleasurable experience. We have now contracted Lori to undertake our kitchen remodel - we don't want to let her go, we'll keep finding projects for her.

Lori remodeled our master bath in 2010 and our kitchen in 2011. She is a very creative designer who listens to her clients' desires and then adds the touches that make the project stand out. Her team of contractors are excellent and capable of delivering on the detailed plans that Lori creates.

Lori is a high energy personality - which is EXACTLY what you need in an interior designer. The best part about her was the fact that she charged NO money to come look at the property - which is makes complete sense - but not many designers follow this rule of ethics. She came up with an amazing design for the house. We didn't get a chance to work with her as our home deal did not go through. Thank Lori for all your help!

Sweetlake provided construction design services as well as complete interior design from furnishings, accessories etc. Lori was phenomenal. She did her homework, took the time to understand my vision and style and totally captured it in every facet of my home. She worked tirelessly and went above and beyond what was expected or required. I thoroughly enjoyed working with her and found her approach to charges to be fair, didnt feel she lowballed her bid and then added on for every small detail. She actually passed on her costs on many items which was a great benefit. One of the advantages to using Lori is that she is so creative and talented that she can personally create an item if it cant be found in the market. She also has great resources and contractors that can be tapped for specialty work and they were all very skilled. Lori required them to complete the work to my satisfaction...even when I had unfairly high standards. I have worked with several interior designers and find Lori to be head and shoulders above the rest.

Lori was very professional in every facet of her work with me. She helped me redesign our Master Bedroom & Dining Room. We discussed the style I prefer and colors I was interested in. She was quick to get back to me with material samples & drawings for both rooms. We've worked to replace area rugs through out our home, which we LOVE! Lori is very easy to work with and always has a design suggestion for problem areas. I've had numerous people complement me on our home & I love what she's done!! Looking forward to our next project...

We purchased an older home and Lori completely remodeled the interior and exterior. We are very happy with all the custom details and the new open concept she created. She was professional and timely in all phases of our project. You often here of remodel disasters but We had a delightful experience.

Lori did some work for my husband when he first purchased our home. She was very professional and the work that was completed was amazing. I have since seen other work that she has completed on her own home along with some of her other projects. She never ceases to amaze me with her abilities and attention to detail.
