We believe that interior design is an art form that involves all of the senses. Sylvia Beez, principal of m.a.p. interiors, is a European-born designer who takes her inspiration from travels around the world. Her approach is international and eclectic as she blends world cultures with a variety of design styles in order to create a vibrant and timeless atmosphere. My husband and I recently worked with Sylvia at MAP Interiors to furnish and decorate our new home, including wall colors, furniture, art work, lighting and other design elements. First and foremost, Sylvia has impeccable taste. After consulting with us to gauge our wants and preferences, she worked with us to design and execute a living space that we absolutely love. She was very open to listening to and considering our input and preferences, but really embodies the confidence, experience, know-how and maturity to execute a large scale project. She really gave us the entire package to truly transform our space, including several personal touches that we really love - our personal bookshelf, a reading nook, and a gallery wall of family photos that we simply love to look at. Sylvia has such a positive energy, and was really wonderful to work with. She was a reassuring force in what could have been a stressful time. Our only regret - not consulting with her at an earlier stage!

If you envision decorating your home in a contemporary style, Sylvia Beez of m.a.p. interiors can make your dream a reality. She has a genius for blending color and shape, which she used to translate our vague vision into a beautiful living room and dining room in our downtown San Diego condo. The look incorporates both our personalities and the personality of the space, and is modern, sophisticated, comfortable, and warm, not stark or industrial like some modern designs. She charges a flat (very reasonable fee), so her choice of furnishings is influenced only by the best choice for her client, not how much commission she receives from a particular vendor. (Savings on our furniture purchases from Sylvia’s designer discount probably exceeded her designer fee.) Sylvia is a lovely person, easy to work with, detail oriented, and replies quickly to questions and feedback. But when we made suggestions that did not work for the design, Sylvia was not afraid to say “no.” We are so pleased with the outcome of our initial project, that we are hiring her to decorate the rest of our condo.

I should be ashamed of myself that I didn't leave Sylvia a review sooner. She redesigned our family room for us. It was a clunky space with a large TV, no decoration what-so-ever and an asymmetrical fireplace that just looked out of place. Sylvia came in, listened to our ideas, and then delivered a wonderful design, along with tons of examples of what furnishings would go where. She was also quite prompt in getting back to us with suggestions and ideas when we ran into some problems/questions with the contractors. What I love about Sylvia though? She was not afraid to say "no" to some ideas. I like a designer who sticks to her guns, is patient and professional, and is quite easy to work with. I would recommend Sylvia to anyone.

Sylvia created a wonderful mid-century / contemporary plan for our condo in San Diego. It turned out beautifully. Sylvia's vision and knowledge paired well with our own views on style and taste, and the comfortable environment we sought. She worked with sub-contractors to make sure those jobs were done thoroughly and as planned. She worked closely with us to truly understand our likes and dislikes in order to create our beautiful living spaces. She knows how to work with a budget, and where spending more vs. less should occur. We highly recommend m.a.p. interiors for projects such as ours. EF & GD

Sylvia Beez from m.a.p interiors is really an amazing designer! She took my dull and sad condo and literally transformed it into something straight out of a magazine - all on a budget! It honestly took my breath away. Her design process is professional yet personal - she takes the time to really understand your functional needs as well as your personal style and incorporates both into the final product. She is able to mix elegant and high end pieces with more affordable ones creating a very inviting and harmonic space. After the remodel my apartment felt both brighter (thanks to the new color scheme!) and bigger, yet intimate and cozy. Her persistence and perfectionism will ensure that you end up with that one-of-a-kind design that really reflects who you are with great style. I will now be able to enjoy living in and entertaining at my condo. I highly recommend Sylvia as a designer to anyone looking for an elegant and stylish design transformation. I'll definitely use her services again in the future!
