My wife and I are so happy with our redesign and so glad we hired Jonathan and Jess. When we moved in to our new home in Silverlake we loved the location and the yard, but the house felt dark and dated. We didn’t want to spend the money for a full remodel with designers but knew the house was worth an investment. Jonathan and Jess came in and helped us find an aesthetic that fit the house, the setting, and our (not always consistent) preferences. They were wonderful to work with and so considerate of the challenges of living in a house while it was being renovated, during COVID, with two busy jobs, a dog and a cat. Their whole team was wonderful and have impeccable taste and a great attitude. They were flexible as the design needs evolved and had so many beautiful suggestions that led to features of the house we now love. I, in particular, wasn’t always capable of seeing the potential end product in the midst of construction, but now living in the house I am so happy with the result and grateful to Jonathan and Jess for being there with us every step of the way. Our friends are all jealous of our house which is truly beautiful, unique, and functional for the way we live. I couldn’t be happier with the result and highly recommend Taylor + Taylor!

It is wonderful when you are in a place to purchase a home that fits your practical needs and it is beautiful and personal to boot. Unfortunately, we were not that couple. The home we bought in relocating to Los Angeles represents a lot of compromise in location, space, and size over a living space we loved. The Taylors have helped us navigate the process of reinventing a home that is invariably bland, occasionally unattractive, and reimagined it as a home that has a compelling look and feel. To date, we have renovated the main floor - kitchen-living-dining and a pretty expansive outdoor space with a covered patio, dining, living and outdoor kitchen. The results have been stunning. The spaces integrate in a seamless fashion, and are just a joy to inhabit day in and day out. In working with designers in the past, we found ourselves frustrated in renovations by designers who either impose their vision to the exclusion of our preferences, or don't push us far enough out of our comfort zone. The Taylors have found a way to balance the extremes and the result is a home that both feels like it is absolutely us, and yet is a product we could never have imagined.

We are so incredibly thankful to have found Jess and Jonathan. We moved into a house with a very old kitchen and bathrooms, all of which needed renovation, but also did not have a huge budget to knock down walls or do a ton of restructuring in the house. We were also going to be living in the house during renovations! They tackled the entire challenge with such enthusiasm and grace from day one, listening to all of our preferences and incorporating it seamlessly into the most gorgeous design but--maybe even more importantly--coordinating it all by sourcing everything, recommending and working with the best contractor ever, working out timelines and logistics, and problem-solving every step of the way. They were continually responsive and gracious with all our questions, responded to emails and texts at all hours, tackled all problems that arose, and were so patient with us as we juggled our kids in a house under renovation and all the unforeseen things that come up during these kinds of things. We really, truly could not have done it without them and now are living in a house that is so much more functional and beautiful than we could have imagined when we purchased it. We cannot recommend them more highly.

Jon and Jess are the absolute BEST! We cannot recommend them highly enough! We bought a very old craftsman in Highland Park that was built in the late 1800s, and in much need of renovating. We hired them to help us redo the entire downstairs, which included a complete gut of the kitchen. They were such a joy to work with, I don't even know where to begin. They walked into the space, and immediately saw it in a way that we never could have. They also have amazing taste. They held our hands through an incredible array of options and ideas. A process that could have been frustrating and overwhelming was fun and collaborative. They were honest and up front about cost and stayed within the budget we gave. Whenever a problem would arise, as they inevitably do, they immediately communicated with solutions and new ideas. Also, the contractor they recommended was fantastic!! We love our new home and that is in large part due to Jon and Jess. We will definitely be working with them again soon.

Jonathan and Jess are an absolute pleasure to work with! With impeccable attention to lush detail and care in everything that they do, they balance style with practicality in their reimagining of interior spaces. We hired Taylor and Taylor to renovate a 1970s duplex in rough shape (it hadn't been touched since it was built in the late 70s). Jonathan and Jess were able to transform the dated spaces into sleek modern living areas with thoughtful period touches. We appreciated that they were able to work with an eye toward durability, since the units were intended as rentals. The result was an unbelievable success from the inside out. We received many competing applications from renters, and neighbors continue to stop by to compliment us on the transformation.

My boyfriend and I bought a Craftsman in Hancock Park that had been totally denuded of its personality. There was a lot we wanted to change about the house, but we were on a fairly strict budget. Jonathan and Jess worked with us to update select features of the house to maximal benefit. Every lookbook they put together was filled with beautiful pieces and concepts that were continually adjusted to our tastes. They understood better than I did how to find the middle ground between my taste and my boyfriend's. Right away I saw their gifts: the right doorknobs, floor finish, light fixtures, and window treatments alone made such a difference in warmth and style. Over the two years we've lived in our house, Jonathan and Jess have taken on countless projects for us -- from a custom-made couch, to retiling an imposing brick fireplace with GORGEOUS Heath tile, to turning a truly hideous guest bath into a clean, dreamy little space. Most recently, they've transformed our backyard by staining our whitish-cement pool a dark charcoal, and re-landscaping the yard to make it look wild and inviting. They have the best taste, great relationships with craftspeople, and beyond that, they are an absolute pleasure to work with: warm, brilliant, honest professionals. Couldn't recommend they more highly.

Wow. I don't even know where to begin! I purchased a home in Silverlake and was in desperate need of a kitchen and master bath redo. Right from the start, Jessica and Jonathan made me feel completely at ease with a project that initially felt pretty overwhelming. They asked me all the right questions about what I look for in a space and painted the PERFECT picture of what my home could look like. Right from the start, I knew what to expect. It felt like a comfort putting the entire project in their hands. Their network of contractors, carpenters, painters, plumbers etc were such incredible people to work with too. This is my first home and they understood that in many ways was...my baby. They nurtured my home as if it was their own. The time, attention and care is something I will always be grateful for. HIGHLY recommend Taylor + Taylor!! Now I want them to do my downstairs ;)

We’d purchased a 1930s Silver Lake farmhouse that needed a total gut renovation. After beginning construction, we quickly fell behind schedule and ran overbudget. We were incredibly lucky to find the Taylors who saved the day. They came into an incredibly difficult situation - no design planning, no ordering of materials or fixtures, and no organized path for a way forward. The Taylors righted the ship almost immediately. They spent countless hours discussing our aesthetic and the way we wanted to live in the house for years to come. They then come back to us with design ideas at all price points. They brought a thoughtful, meticulous eye to every detail in the house - from the wood we chose for the flooring to personally aging the brass handles on our kitchen cabinets. They project managed the construction and got us back on track in terms of budget and schedule. Because of our work schedules, we would often have design calls with them at night. They literally worked around the clock and did so with the utmost enthusiasm and care. We are picky and mercurial clients -- and they came up with inspired designs within our budget. They also always take into account function as well aesthetic. Most importantly, they incorporated our strange idiosyncrasies and made the house feel like a reflection of both our personalities. Beyond their professionalism, work ethic, and creative talents, Jess and Jonathan are an absolute pleasure to work with. They're fun, positive and kind to everyone in their orbit. The renovation process can be maddening at times. But they made it as delightful as it could be. After complementing construction, we asked them to tackle all the furniture. They dove in with same energy and continued to blow us away with their unique style choices and solutions to the more challenging spaces. We have spent almost two years on this project with them and we love our house thanks to their tireless efforts. They’ll be our first call when we take on another house (hopefully in many years from now). We can’t recommend them enough.

We cannot recommend Taylor + Taylor enough! We just completed an up scale playspace in Northern California, thanks to their amazing work. They helped us with the design of our custom play structures and the overall aesthetic direction of the whole space. Jess quickly caught onto our vision through images we showed her and what we explained to her, and then elevated our ideas. Her work is gorgeous and her skill set wide. Not only can she pick the perfect color palette, but she can do technical drawings of large structures. Not only can she be professional and deliver outcomes, but she can be warm and down to earth on the process. She was quick to affirm our artistic and design direction and also add in her own to make an complete picture. Her ability to space out the different sections of our space was so central to us being able to pull this off. A huge bonus: she had great tips for managing the build out side of things. Do yourself a huge favor and invite them into your project!

Jessica and Jonathan are the perfect duo. They masterfully took a vague concept and turned it into a space I don't want to leave - which is a lot to be said given that it is an office space. We tasked them with creating a work environment that inspired creativity, collaboration and thoughtfulness. They not only achieved exactly what we wanted, but also allowed us to present a space to our team members that showed them how much we cared. Since moving in, we can feel the energy and enthusiasm and get compliments daily on the design!

We moved into our house 2 years ago and felt lost decorating it until we met Jess and Jonathan. Together, they take into account our taste and lifestyle to create spaces that are both unique and functional. They've been excellent at presenting us with a range of options (for both design and price point) and have been hugely respectful of our goals and timelines. They also carry a huge repository of resources, and have connected us with carpenters/ contractors/ metal workers/ reupholsters in ways that have made the decorating very streamline and organic. We've come to regard them as friends, and feel very grateful for the guidance and detail they've demonstrated as we've navigating building this home together.

Taylor + Taylor rescued our project. We got part way into an update of the entire home (kitchens, baths, flooring, paint, windows, etc.) only to discover that the project manager we hired (who brought on the contractor) was not being straight with us. We knew we had to let him go, and we were at risk of the entire project stalling. Jess and Jonathan at Taylor + Taylor quickly assessed things, pulled together a comprehensive design within our budget range, and even found a way to save the century old hardwood floors that the project manager said were unusable. They connected us with a skilled licensed contractor who helped us complete the project. They literally saved the whole thing midway. Their work is honest. Their designs are beautiful. They are a delight to work with. I would highly recommend their design and project coordination services. I will be using them again for future projects.
