The Design Shoppe

Working with Michelle was the best decision I could have made. We have an open concept home and I was a bit daunted by the redesign of all of these connecting rooms (entry, turning a formal dining room into a lounge, kitchen and den). New tile, trim, interior doors, front door, paint, wallpaper, lighting, bar and furniture. Whew! She really nailed my style (eclectic?) and helped me move a bit out of my comfort zone, in a good way! Our house is definitely unique and better than we could have envisioned.

Great direction to go in when doing a renovation on a budget. We weren't sure it could be done without breaking the bank, but after working with Michelle at the Design Shoppe we found hope. I will choose them for later projects.

We're sure there are other competent designers in the Tulsa area...but why would you take the chance and go anywhere else? We had never worked before with a designer, and Michelle put us completely at ease. She is so very knowledgeable about the various schools of design, and thinks of things that would never cross your mind. She LISTENS to what you want, asks appropriate questions to help get the final product you want, and monitors all aspects of the project from start to finish. She always provides at least three options in the price range and style you're seeking. She has a wide range of subcontractors and trade professionals. All of them worked as true artisans, cleaned up after themselves, and had no concerns about ANY of them being in the home unsupervised. Although in many aspects we were like the old man who wore a size 10 shoe, but an 11 felt so good he took a 12...Michelle always stuck to the budget when presenting choices. It was our decision to sometimes change choices to more costly materials. We would encourage anyone looking for a designer to head up your project to work with Michelle and her assistant Alex at The Design Shoppe. She made this entire process so enjoyable. And, we firmly believe that had we searched for and contracted ourselves the painter, trim carpenter, electrician, tile workers, stone masons, wood floor refinishers, etc....we probably would have spent more than we ended up paying, and that would be without her expertise and guiding hand to see us through. We would strongly encourage anyone looking for a designer in the Tulsa area to save your time and just make one trip to see Michelle. You will not be sorry you chose her. Our thanks to Michelle for taking the old adding the new and updating our home, with color, beautiful beams and so much more. We had a enclosed patio room turned into a sun room we are now able to thoroughly enjoy. The vendors were respectful, very neat and professional. We highly recommend The Design Shoppe.

I cannot say enough about Michelle. I could not have done the remodel without her. She was there from the start and it was the best decision I made. She helped me with colors and materials including walls, cabinets, floors, window coverings, furniture and more. The end result was beautiful. She matched my budget spot on and we were able to accomplish everything we set out to do. Her ideas were very creative and also in line with my tastes. She has a knack for picking out beautiful, interesting pieces. She even had a piece custom made for me. Her installers were very professional and did top notch work. Michelle worked well with all the contractors and vendors and was well respected everywhere we went. She was readily available, easy to reach and flexible with my crazy schedule. My experience with Michelle at the Design Shoppe in Tulsa, Oklahoma was top notch. Michelle and her associates are talented, professional, and can work within any budget. She has the ability to visualize and refine designs for a broad spectrum of tastes and design types. We had a living room that was difficult to furnish due to the layout. She tackled it effortlessly and transformed it. We look forward to working with her in the future!

Michelle and Sarah recently created an amazing living space for my family. They took a few pieces we had and loved and created answer amazingly beautiful space while also taking into consideration that we have two small children and that it needed to be family friendly. During the process they were always available to answer questions or give guidance and patiently provided multiple options if we asked (although we went with their first choices every time). They are both wonderful to work with and we plan on using The Design Shoppe in the future when we are ready to complete other rooms in our house.

My husband and I were building our first custom home, which was also going to be our "forever" home. I had never worked with a designer before, and was a little intimidated by the idea. The Design Shoppe had excellent reviews on Houzz, so I set up a consultation. Michelle (the owner of The Design Shoppe), has a very warm and outgoing personality. She is very easy to work with and she has impeccable taste. She assisted me with picking out everything from exterior stone and brick, to hardware and fixtures. We were also purchasing new furniture and decor for our home, and Michelle always seemed to know what I would like and would look good in our home. My husband was even impressed with the furniture that Michelle picked for us! Our home turned out beautiful, thanks in large part to Michelle and The Design Shoppe.

My husband and I downsized from a large suburban home to a small urban apartment. Michelle, owner of The Design Shoppe in Tulsa, has been great with furniture placement and choosing furnishings and accessories to enhance our space. She is the nicest person, very easy to work with and has gone the extra mile for us several times. And of course she has great taste! I highly recommend Michelle!

Michelle met with us to discuss what we wanted in a new bathroom. She met with us later and presented her ideas for the renovation. She took care of the ordering and saved us hours of shopping for the fixtures, etc. She oversaw all aspects of the work. Even with some changes to the original plans and most cost in some areas she kept us right on budget. Her contractor and his crew were very good and knowledgeable. Job was completed in a timely manner. Only think left at the end of the project was the shower glass and due to it being an oversize piece of glass that will be installed the end of next week. Thanks Michelle!!!

Designed comfortable and functional home. Scope of work included: new color schemes for interior paint and processes (which were awesome), hardwood floors being refinished with modern touches, window treatments including drapes and plantation shutters, floor coverings, furniture and accesories. Basically a complete home makeover and update. All workers were scheduled and supervised by Michelle in a very efficient and satisfying manner. We were esceptionally pleased with her performance, energy and expertise.

Michelle did a great job listening to what we wanted in my daughters room and working with her style and what she liked. She was fast and efficient and knew what would work and what wouldn't which was great because I wanted to job done quickly. Her crew that she brought in for painting, tile etc. was detailed and efficient , friendly and neat. Cant wait to use them again for my next project!
