I would call myself a tough person to work for. Kat made all my ideas work in my kitchen remodel. She worked with me and the contractors in every aspect of the remodel. She made my dream of a great kitchen come true. Her team at Topkat was always keeping me updated on the latest project. She would be highly recommend as someone with a heart that listens to her clients with open eyes and follows their dreams.

I hired Topkat Design Group to help me remodel my 2 bedroom 2 bath condo. I had no experience in such a project, and this would be a total remodel of the condo, including the kitchen, both bathrooms, flooring, removal of wallpaper and popcorn ceiling. I am so glad that I hired Topkat Design. Kat Coleman is very experienced and was with me from beginning to end. She helped me find what I really liked by talking about it, and looking at pictures so that she could understand what I really like and would make me happy. It was such a fun experience to be so open with what I like, and to have someone be so supportive and on my side. She never would try to 'talk me into' something that wouldn't make me happy, because she always reminded me this was for me, no one else.. Once we had many different pictures of rooms and styles and colors I picked, she did her magic to find real material samples to put together choices, and we refined that until she was sure it was what I really loved. So it was a combination of my dream and what I wanted, with her talent and design taste so would be beautiful. I did not need to find a contractor, I used the one that she has had a lot of experience with. I am so happy with this contractor business, they were very professional and honest and made it clear from beginning they wanted me to be happy with the work and would communicate with me closely all along the way to make sure everything was good and I had no issues.. The quality of their work is excellent. They gave me a detailed estimate listing all the project details of each room, and said that this format makes it easy to check off completed tasks, or change tasks if things change (for example I changed floor choice later on so that could be changed on that line item).. I am including this information because she is responsible for me having this excellent contractor to build it. She worked with me to pick out my major appliances, flooring, fixtures, cabinetry, paint colors and I received excellent prices on these items. She took care of ordering or having these items ordered. My condo is now light and modern and very beautiful and I will be able to enjoy it for many years and be very proud to welcome people over. Kat Coleman is so experienced in construction, products, materials in addition to design, so I avoided all those problems I am sure I would have had if I had done this without her. You can tell she loves design and beauty, and is very talented and the construction people have great regard for her choices as well. She is the nicest person ever, always with can-do attitude, and a smile and very inspiring and encouraging. She checks up daily and comes by often to check and talk with contractor so is always on top of the progress. I should mention also, for pet owners, I have 3 cats and was so concerned about this project and Kat made sure that the contractors knew what I asked in order to keep the crew and the cats safe. Before the crew would come each day, I would confine the cats to one of the bedrooms with a note on the door and the crew were not to open the door. They were so respectful of this and my cats are just fine (but love it when crew leaves, and on days that they don't come of course). I consider Kat Coleman the designer and the manager of the entire project, and it has been so successful I am very happy to write this review. I plan to use her services again to do a couple of smaller projects that I set aside.

I collaborated with Kat on a project in Downney that called for some tricky rework in a 2-story condominium. I did the drawings to get the permit. The kitchen and laundry spaces of the existing floor plan made for a cramped kitchen. She was able to expand the room and work around obstacles to make them work as a plus for the feel of the space. And there were plenty of obstacles - a huge plumbing wall supporting the 2nd story master bath, a water heater closet, unvented exhaust fan ducting, load bearing walls to header and expand which needed engineering, and more. The results came out really well as seen on this site. I enjoyed her professionalism and her timing was right on. I'll be continuing to collaborate with her as more projects come up.

Everyone building or remodeling needs a Kat in their life. We live in an old house that needs a lot of work. Kat has brought us creative solutions to update our home while keeping the integrity of our home intact. She brings, intelligence, creativity, experience and professionalism to her work. Looking forward to our future kitchen remodel.

I worked with Kat from Topkat design on a complete kitchen remodel. She LISTENED to me and worked diligently to create an incredible bigger kitchen for me. With Kat ‘s assistance my kitchen and living room has become a modern and contemporary space. She provided invaluable guidance in regards to color schemes, selecting flooring and tiling, painting and lighting and at the same time kept me on my BUDGET. She is a great person, very CREATIVE and easy to work with. I have worked as a contract an admin for Kat over the last year. During this time I have interacted with her, her vendors and her clients. She is very professional and yet warm and down to earth. Her knowledge of the design industry is vast and she has educated me on so many things while we have been working together. Her clients love her and enjoy working with her. They always speak highly of her as a person and a designer. Her vendors are always willing to help her and are responsive to her needs on her projects, so it is clear that she is good at building those relationships as well. I would say that she is a great fit for anyone who wants an experienced, professional designer, and who is also a really great person.

I've partnered with Kat many times on various projects for the last 5+ years. Every project she coordinates for me - I always hear great things back from my clients. She excels in kitchen and bath remodels as well as living space design. She is always organized, punctual and has great customer service. Most importantly, she gets everything right the first time! Kat at TopKat Design was amazing. We ask for 10 hours of design work. She went way over the 10 hours and didn't charge extra. We used TopKat design for a kitchen, 2 bathrooms and fireplace remodel. She also suggested we move in our laundry area into the house which I am so thankful for. Our house is so beautiful. We would recommend TopKat and we would certainly use them again when need arises.

I hired Kat to advise on various aspects of a one-year total rebuild of my home. Her process of helping me narrow down my many many ideas was so helpful. She really helped me to focus on what I liked most and eliminate an over-abundance of conflicting ideas. I felt much more in control and less overwhelmed with her guidance. We were recommended to Kat through some friends who were having their kitchen remodeled, and so happy they did. We purchased our dream/forever home and completely remodeled it. New kitchen, bathrooms, floors, etc. We had a vision and Kat helped us to realize it. It turned out absolutely beautiful. Kat was with us every step of the way, she made herself available day and night through phone, text, email or through scheduled meetings. I would send ideas to her and we would brainstorm on what would work best for the space, her recommendations and design skills are top notch.
