Since founding Touijer Designs in 2012, Sara Touijer built her business by creating one-of-a-kind spaces, reflecting her clients passions and dreams while significantly impacting their lives. Sara has an experienced, highly qualified and dynamic team of Interior Designers, Architects & Project Managers specializing in multiple aspects of design. The combined skills of the team and their extensive network of professional and highly skilled artisans, consultants, construction experts allow them to offer the consummate design experience for their clients. Sara's love and knowledge of construction and its processes make her the perfect advocate and guide during your renovations. This depth of knowledge has allowed her firm to undertake a wide variety of projects with varying budgets and different levels of specifications and intensity. I worked with Touijer Designs to remodel my loft apartment in NY. Sara was extremely professional and easy to work with. She gave me great ideas and and even made us some custom art pieces that really pulled things together. Our place is fantastic and everyone who sees it raves about the design. We have already engaged her on 2 additional projects - she exceeded our expectations on both. We had a short window in which we needed to furnish and design 2 houses and she did it on schedule, within budget and we couldn't have asked for more beautiful spaces. We are about to engage her on a fourth project which is the gut renovation of a 5 bedroom house. You can't go wrong with Touijer Designs.

I had never worked with a designer before hiring Sara, and I can't express how pleased I was with the results. She provided great options, was very respectful of my budget (and lifestyle - three kids), and we are delighted with the pieces (and placement) she suggested. She worked on four rooms for us (living room, dining room, family room, study/home office), and some of these were tricky spaces (e.g., walls of windows, fireplace, open entry, etc., so hard to figure out furniture placement). Again, we could not be more delighted - best money we spent setting up our new house.

Moving from a Manhattan apartment to a home in Westchester was daunting. Sara immediately gave us a framework for setting a budget, floorplan, and action item list. She was a great "referee" to ensure that the designs we chose were not out of place in the home (or with our differing aethetics). We were really impressed at her ease mixing woods and metals, which added a richness to the design. She was instrumental in every element - paint color, stairwell rug, fireplace tile, fixtures. Sara's visits were also very memorable. She would exclaim "WOW!" at how much we had done since our last visit...then get right to work. It was a great benchmark given when you live the day to day, you don't see how the small changes add up to a big difference. We set an agenda for every visit - I would have paint swatches ready for her, rug samples for the stairs. She was decisive and upbeat. There comes a point in any project where you reach decision fatigue, or at least spending fatigue!! I attribute SO much of the progress to working with Sara, who was focused and encouraging over the year we worked together on four rooms.

Sara did an amazing job creating a "big girl" room for my daughter. She worked quickly and efficiently within our tight budget and time parameters. We did not want to re-paint our blue built-ins for cost reasons and so we were able to blend our manly office into a perfect girly space for my three-year old. Sara was a pleasure to work with and always had a smile on her face. She came in on budget and never pushed us to do more than we were comfortable with. She really listened to our needs and wishes and made sure we were part of the design process. I can't wait to do another room so we can work with her again!
