In the fall of 2013 we embarked on a renovation of our 45 year old split entry house. We had talked for years about doing a renovation, but were a bit apprehensive about moving forward with such a big decision. We had some general ideas about the layout that we wanted (an open concept) but had no idea how to get there. We met with Pam Tower of Tower Interiors and showed her our house. She actively listened to us, looked at our kitchen, dining room, living room and bathroom and asked us questions to determine our needs and wants. Within a short period of time, Pam provided us with architectural drawings that laid out several options. Her drawings allowed us to envision what the rooms would look like, what changes would be required, measurements, and the drawings provided specific information for our contractor. When it came time to choose a contractor, Pam suggested several contractors that she had worked with in the past. The contractors commented on the attention to detail in the drawings which made their job much easier in terms of providing an accurate quote. One of the key features that Pam included in her plans was LED lighting. We wanted to make our new space as energy efficient as possible and we were pleased to learn that Pam’s plans always integrate LED lighting. Pam also guided us through the process of choosing insulated exterior doors which will help reduce heating costs for years to come. When it came to flooring, Pam walked us through the pros and cons of various options, providing reliable information about what materials have worked well over the years, what flooring would function best in our space, and the best options for maintaining cohesiveness from room to room. Pam also gave expert advice on paint colours, cabinet choices, backsplash and countertop coordination, solar shade window coverings, furniture design and colour, light fixtures, appliances, and general layout. She even helped advise us on artwork and finishing decorating touches. Pam has a vast network of suppliers and she provided us with several options at each meeting to help us work our way through the decision making process. Pam has a unique ability to ask the right questions that helped us work through our confusions, determine our likes and dislikes, and not be overwhelmed. There were so many decisions that had to be made, that the process could easily become overwhelming. Throughout the entire process she maintained a calm, professional demeanor, was patient with us, and made sure we understood every part of the process. We learned so much and by the time we were ready to start the construction stage of our renovation, we had a comprehensive and detailed plan. Her attention to detail meant that no change orders took place during the construction stage, which was undoubtedly a big plus for our contractor and his crew. The difference between what our house looked like before and how it looks now is like day and night. We have a beautiful, modern, warm and inviting open concept kitchen/living room/dining room. Our dining room and living room hardwood floor has been extended seamlessly into the kitchen, our bathroom has been brought into the 21st century, and we have more storage space in our kitchen than we ever did before, complete with an 8 foot island. We truly feel like we’re living in a new home. 2 1/2 years later, we still sit in awe, looking around us and marvelling at the transformation. It really is incredible. When we embarked on the process we could never have imagined how beautifully it would turn out. We are truly thankful for the hard work that Tower Interiors and MacFarlane Homes did in creating such a wonderful space. Pam and Mike MacFarlane were both readily available to meet with us and patiently answered all our questions throughout the entire process. We are so happy with our ‘new home’ and highly recommend Tower Interiors and MacFarlane Homes. We know who we will call for our next renovation!

I have used Tower Interiors twice, first for a new home I built ten years ago and recently for my new home which was gutted and completely renovated. I used Tower Interiors to design the layout which they added several extremely crafty and significant features in regard to the floor spacing which I had not thought of. I also used them for helping design colours, tiles, granite, floor design and wood as well as floor and deck pattern. They did an excellent job bringing the entire home together. I also used them to provide custom drapery and some furniture and lights which they provided options and selections to fit some unique spaces. Pam and her team are very easy to work with and are extremely helpful in pulling everything together to make a house a home.

Tower Interiors has been a saving grace many times as we have updated our home, and as we built our cottage. The Ladies at Tower Interiors are current, insightful, easy to deal with and always go the extra mile for us. There have been times when I didn't know where to start or was overwhelmed by choices. Pam, Nicole and team helped me organize my thoughts through professional design strategies. They have helped with new build lighting plans, kitchen, bath, bedroom, office remodels, efficient storage solutions and the pretty stuff (comforter, throw pillows, drapery and bench cushions).
