Deborah came highly recommended by a close friend of ours. I am so appreciative that she told us about Deborah at Transforming Rooms. When we remodeled our kitchen, she helped us think outside the box for our stove hood, hardware, light fixtures, etc. reminding us how much they impact the room. I'm glad we didn't end up with builder grade options which are overused. She is great about responding to texts and emails quickly. Her gift for color tones helped unsure the Maple cabinet stain, wall paint and hardwood flooring all blended well. We went with Transforming Rooms for furnishings, art, more light fixtures and window treatments in various other rooms. The best compliment was when my son asked for her contact information and said, "Mom, this place is beautiful".

I contacted a few design firms but their prices were astronomical. I thought I’d give it one last try and called Deborah. She did a home visit on 3/9/2023, furnished and decorated phase 1 within 11 work days, then phase 2 was delivered and coordinated 13 days later! Deborah managed to transform every room (and our downtown balcony) for significantly less than the other design firms quoted for ONE room. Deborah was a pleasure to work with. She listens and she envisioned what I wanted, which was quite a task as we transitioned from a large ranch home to a downtown condo. Deborah was also respectful of our budget. My downtown condo now has the right look, function, size and scale, in cheerful colors that were much needed! We now have beautiful one of a kind art and a unique cocktail table that I would never have found on my own. Better still, I compared Transforming Rooms to three of the exact same item numbers and brands to online (wayfair etc) and Deborah was over $2,000 less for the exact same pieces. I highly recommend a call to her to learn how they work. Hiring Deborah was a dream come true! She gets 5 stars from me!

We moved to Greensboro very quickly for my husband's job. I knew our furniture from our previous house wouldn't all work in the new space. I met with Deborah and from there our first delivery with Transforming Rooms was mid-September (only 16 days after meeting with her and the day after we closed on our house). It was wonderful. Within 6 weeks Deborah & her staff had installed new furniture, rugs, light fixtures, lamps, art, and amazingly comfortable screened in porch Furniture! My husband is very tall, she always kept that into consideration for comfort. I was craving unique, lighter and brighter, which she achieved. Their access to quality pieces with no waiting Is incredible. I enjoyed the viewing days and being able to choose from options! Best of all, as a mom herself, she understood the need for durable, she kept me informed about rug durability and fabric protection, etc. Our new home was very dark and not well lit. She helped us find an amazing chandelier for our family/living room and new wall sconces that I love so much. Our home is now bright and cheery. I can’t believe how many great pieces she found us, and I’m appreciative of their prices for good brands. I now love our new home and can't wait to entertain!

I recently moved into a new house. Our furniture was old and tied looking and decided we wanted to start fresh with new furniture. My husband and decided we wanted to hire an interior decorator to help us. Enter Deborah! We had some very specific requests. Deborah asked about what colors we liked and what our decorating g style was. Deborah then pounded the pavement and went through furniture warehouses to find us furniture, rugs, paintings and accessories. She used her connections to get us high end furniture at discounted prices. Deborah has an eye for detail and perfectly blended various metals and textures to develop a beautiful great room, dining room and entry way. We couldn’t be more pleased!

My husband was worried about not being able to furnish our new home due to pandemic delays. We had been warned by friends that they were still waiting on furniture they ordered from furniture stores after many months. Deborah had worked her magic on our prior home, so we hired her again this year in our new home. She furnished our new home within weeks! We were just as pleased this time. I always enjoy my rooms so much more after her transformations, she takes care to incorporate sentimental pieces & always keeps functionality & durability in mind. I greatly appreciate that, as a mom of two plus and a big dog. Our porch furniture is the most comfortable outdoor furniture we’ve ever sat in, and she added unexpected touches that we love: an outdoor bar & a privacy solution, which were both more reasonable in price than online. We consulted with Deborah to bring some new and fresh interior design ideas to our home. Her use of old and new with an eye for lines, colors and light transformed our rather traditional but stale rooms to life. Using art and some contemporary pieces made a significant impact in the look and feel of the rooms. Deborah started with an initial consultation to learn a little about our style, interest and budget for the project. She exceeded our expectations and worked well with us. We would not hesitate to use her again and will recommend her to others.

I was very leery of hiring a designer due to an experience we had previously with a firm in which we were unhappy with the outcome. My husband and I have different style preferences and Deborah worked hard to help each of us get the look we wanted. Deborah is very talented, highly experienced and has an amazing eye. She has curated pieces for us that we would never have had access to on our own and has made our home feel much more spacious, updated and inviting.

It has been a great experience working with Deborah! She has great interpersonal skills and a wonderful installation crew. Deborah is punctual and has kept me updated on my project throughout. She completely understood my needs and was able to communicate and implement changes to my home both through moving furniture I already had and bringing in select items which have given a wonderful update to my home. She suggested removing the upper portion of my china cabinet – which created a much lighter and more functional piece of furniture for my dining room. Their window treatments fit beautifully and were budget friendly. She has a great eye and finds accent pieces that give a wow factor. My home is now much brighter and more functional which was my goal. I am so happy to have found Deborah and would recommend her to my friends.

Our Sedgefield 1920's Tea House was going to be quite the challenge, due to expanse rooms, the need to respect the architecture, and our desire to use some of our current things. Deborah pulled together a cohesive look, with an updated fresh look to avoid a museum feeling. Deborah's impressive large art, rugs, lighting, cocktail tables, cocktail ottomans and design décor were all brought for in home viewing, which made the process much easier. She was able to come through for us by providing In Stock comfortable high quality sofas during these trying times of pandemic associated shortages. What we initially thought would take 12 months, she was able to pull together in a matter of a few weeks. All this came with savings in both time and money, in comparison to what we could've done on our own. She even provided a unique solution that we love, for a plain ugly door, as well as some clever ideas to turn a kitchen desk into our requested coffee bar. She provided beautiful paint colors for that area, which make things flow. We are beyond thrilled and will continue to look to Deborah to help us in the future.

The first designer we had called (from a different design firm) said our brand new kitchen table and chairs were wrong for our room. Thankfully, we tried Deborah instead. She came in and said they were actually perfect in shape and size and that we just needed more cheerful fabric on the chairs. Deborah was right, the new look is gorgeous. In the dining room, I almost ordered the wrong size formal dining furniture (online). Deborah helped me visualize the size and scale that I actually needed, and brought us a perfect table, that was not shiny like the one I almost ordered online. The best part is she saved us a lot of money. We compared her to online prices, for all the light fixtures, floor lamps, and our dining chairs, which added up to thousands in savings, and we didn’t even have to un-carton things and wait for hours for numerous different deliveries. Deborah helps you think outside the box, with designer tricks to our master bath that made it feel like it had higher ceilings, and by repurposing pieces, such as a bookcase we moved to another room. She’s transformed our home and accomplished more than we ever expected! She is friendly, upbeat, professional, attentive and timely. We highly recommend her. We would suggest anyone using her to just trust her judgement and stay open to her ideas and concepts!

Deborah was such a great steward with our budget. She took the budget we gave her for one room, and was able to transform the living room, and make improvements to two other rooms AS WELL! Her talent for finding quality pieces at affordable prices was a welcome surprise, as I had spent many months searching both online and in furniture stores, so I knew prices well. My husband and I have very different taste, thankfully, she demonstrated the ability to create a cohesive look that reflected both our taste. After an initial consultation, she immediately began the work of curating furniture, lighting, art, rugs, and accessories that made our home makeover such an exciting experience! As Deborah brought each piece into our home, the most astounding changes began to take place. The combination of color, materials and textures transformed our living room from a dark outdated space to a light, open and oh-so-welcoming environment! We can finally enjoy spending time in our home and entertaining! My friends keep asking “where does she find these amazing pieces?!” Deborah not only knows how to create a beautiful space, but she also maximizes its functionality by creating more seating!
