My Husband & I recently built our new home. Lyla was referred to me by a couple of people I know and I can't express how happy we were with the results! Lyla listened carefully to my ideas and got the job done BEYOND my expectations! Absolutely beautiful! She didn't waste anytime and definitely knows her stuff! I can't imagine doing it without her! Professional and reasonably priced! I wouldn't hesitate to refer to my friends and family!!

We have worked with Lyla and her colleagues on various renovations at our home over the last 15 years. She has always been a truly knowledgeable professional in every aspect and has seen all our projects through from start to finish. Her drawings along with written instructions have been very helpful to the contractors and the sub trades thus making our life life much easier in dealing with the headaches of renovating.

True Colours Design Group is very professional and always stands behind their work. They have done numerous projects in our home, including choosing paint colors for the outside of our home. May of 2017 we renovated our powder room, all with the help of Lyla and True Colours Design Group. It turned out amazing. I personally have referred True Colours Design Group to at least 4 friends, who have all been thrilled with their work and had them back for numerous projects.

I have worked with Lyla at True Colours design on many projects on our home over that last 18 years. The largest was a complete remodel of our main floor completed over 6 months ending in 2009. She has ultimately worked on every corner over time. Lyla is an extremely knowledgeable professional, and a pleasure to work with. She has always been very responsive to our requests and her guidance over the years has been invaluable. Our most recent project has been this past winter and we intend on continuing this trusted relationship.

I recently renovated my entire first floor of my home including kitchen, family room, office, bathrooms, laundry, bedrooms, etc. It was a renovation that I dreamed of doing for 15 years. The result exceeded my expectations and I am so happy with my new home! I hired Lyla Van Dam, True Colour design as she was referred from a trusted friend. Lyla was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the architectural design and construction which made it extremely comforting when working with the contractor. She provided such great ideas and options while always respecting our budget and timelines. She included my tastes and suggested new ideas, and gave such great advice. Lyla thought through the entire flow of the home and paid great attention to detail. She saved us so much time and money with her advice and options. Picking tiles took only 30 minutes...and were perfect fits for our home. I don’t know what I would have done without Lyla!

We have had the team at True Colors on several projects from lighting and color consults to a fully supervised kitchen renovation. They were able to work well within our personal tastes to deliver work that not only we loved but has been most favorably commented on by our friends and family. Over the past 12 years I have engaged the services of this company for several home renovations. Lyla has provided me with superb service and advice. I first met Lyla when we were renovating our kitchen; the contractor steered us to her. Thank goodness! She helped us find the right flooring, counter tops, tiles, colours and furniture. We have a truly stunning kitchen and I credit Lyla with that. Our next project was renovating our two upstairs bathrooms. Then she helped me update our family room and then the downstairs powder room. She has helped me with projects ranging from $15,000 to well over $100,000. Lyla started by asking lots of questions to understand what we like and do not like to get a feel as to our vision. She provided us with a variety of options or directed us to various stores to look over products (i.e. fireplaces). She is very knowledgable about construction and knows whether something is “doable” or not. She knows and works with top quality suppliers, such as upholsterers, furniture manufacturers, tilers, painters etc. Every contractor has been superb. Lyla is very current with new trends and designs yet made sure anything she put forth would suit us. I trust Lyla’s advice and never once have I been disappointed with any aspect of a renovation. I would highly recommend Lyla for any interior design project. She is currently helping me with the design of a new kitchen for a new condo and will be helping me furnish our new home. Lyla is very professional, knowledgeable, pleasant to work with, a delight, actually. I have referred others to her and would do so again.

We recently hired True Colours Design Group to help us in designing the renovation of our kitchen, family room, laundry and powder room. Basically the entire back of our house. Lyla was excellent to work with and her knowledge of colours made this project very easy. She could see how all the samples would blend, even though we couldn't always see it on the small samples that are commonly provided. Several times throughout the project she would jump in to alleviate any concerns we had or to make alterations when timelines would have been stretched. We would highly recommend Lyla and all of the companies that she is associated with. They were all a pleasure to work with.

I first met Lyla about 7 years ago when we did a full home renovation where she provided design advice and services that included choices of all renovation materials, from floor to ceiling. She was involved with a complete kitchen re-design including all new cabinets which we love. Lyla was a joy to work with and respected both our budget and our desire to reuse as many existing furniture pieces as possible. Recently, I reconnected this spring with Lyla once more to help me select a new custom couch and chairs as well as dining table. I appreciate Lyla's genuine, honest approach and trust her to help me find great pieces and make good design choices.

Lyla is absolutely amazing!!! We can not say enough. We have built a house and she was part of the design process from the architectural design to the pictures hung on the walls. The end product is fantastic! We have people stopping and taking pictures of the house. Our friends can’t get over how beautiful it turned out. Our trades were hesitant to work with a designer until they worked with Lyla. They couldn’t say enough about how knowledgeable she was and how realistic she was. Our contractor asked for her contact info for his other clients because he had never met such a great designer. She really listened to what we wanted and to our budget. Not only were her design ideas beautiful but they were so practical and cost effective. The prices that Lyla was able to get us on such products as lights, tiles, blinds etc were unbelievable! True colours is amazing!
