We worked with Lieve on our home renovation this summer, and she was a pleasure to work with. She delivered designs that were tailored to our family’s style and preferences while trying to optimize her recommendations for our budget. Throughout the process, she communicated proactively with the contractor to make sure the design goals were executed as beautifully as possible. Our home turned out gorgeous, and we are extremely satisfied with the results.

Lieve is PHENOMENAL! You won’t regret engaging her in your next (or many) projects. Lieve came up with a baseline upgrade for our home (floors, doors, baseboards, lighting, and overall paint) as well as designing our living room. We live in a 1970s house that needs a lot of love. Lieve came over for our initial consultation and asked a ton of thoughtful questions about our lives today and our future family. She walks the entire house, wants to understand your lifestyle, what you like to do in your space, your overall family vibe, and recommends where she could add the most value. You feel so comfortable interacting with her and instantly know you’re in good hands. With Lieve refreshing our living room, she also added small updates to additional rooms that connect so that the same style continued on into other rooms. She incorporated our personal collections (sewing machines, LEGO sets) in ways that were so creative, upscale, and we never would have thought of on our own - I honestly don’t know that many people could have come up with the ideas that she came up with - it’s incredible. Best money we’ve spent on our home. While she is costly, she truly picks items you’ll keep forever; items aren’t trendy, items are high quality, and fit your space perfectly. We are so grateful to have met her and love working with her! She’s one-of-a-kind and you’ll be blown away by what she designs for your family - it will feel so customized to you which is her specialty. She listens to exactly what you want and produces something you never would have come up with without her. It’s not over designed, it’s so comfortable, and you’ll get endless compliments on your space. Beyond her creativity and her execution, her and her team are excellent communicators and so professional - it makes the project a breeze. She’s also just a really thoughtful person - she got our sweet English Bulldog a toy (that he devoured!) when she closed out our project. I can’t say enough positive things about Lieve. Hire her! We recently had floors, eating nook, powder room and Kitchen reimagined with the help of Lieve Sather’s crew at Turnstyle Design here in Austin. The results are fabulous. From our standpoint there were three defining elements that made this relationship a smash-hit: 1.The team helped us isolate the things that were most important to us including the view out over our canyon, and a mish-mash of household culinary needs, and then built on them. 2.The design tapped into functions, colors, textures, and flow that at first glance seemed a bit foreign but proved to be beautiful, practical and an absolute delight to work in. Every detail was thought out to the point that we now wonder how we did without those innovations for all these years. 3.Ashley, the project manager talked us thru every step of the way with daily updates about who, when and what to expect each day in the process. Lieve was onsite almost every day watching over work-team, deliverables and managing expectations. We were never in doubt. What a relief.

Lieve and her team provide amazing results that aren't only gorgeous, but functional. Turnstyle did an amazing job on our kitchen remodel five years ago, so we asked them this year to do our entryway, which included three spaces and a cavernous, cold ceiling area. Lieve kept the project moving, on budget, and made our space beautiful. She incorporated our personal items, created plant walls, painted a unique mural, improved the lighting throughout, and created an overall, amazing beautiful space that we always want to be in now. Her team is exceptional. They communicate very well, are very organized, not intrusive, and delightful to be around. We would love to work with them in the future on another project!

Lieve, Ashley and team worked tirelessly to bring our fundraising event to life and to create a warm and fun atmosphere. Because of their creative genius, we raised the most we've ever done for this event making it a huge success! We are so grateful for their willingness to partner with us on multiple events including to help spread awareness. I have worked with the Turnstyle team over the past year on a few different projects and could not recommend them enough. Our family has enjoyed working with Lieve and the Turnstyle Design team over the years. They have completed 4 projects for us to date. These projects range from a full remodel design and implementation to help with less complex, but very important decisions like what color exterior paint to choose. So much to say here! Lieve is a true master of her craft. All the years of effort have led her to something that is beyond just interior design. I have had the pleasure of working with Turnstyle and the lovely team. Lieve brings so much more to the projects with her experience and style. Love what she did with our remodel and would highly recommend their services.

We gave Lieve a budget of $50,000. Her initial design fee was $7600, which we paid 50% to begin (remaining budget $46,200) We were told the process would take 6-8 weeks; the project arrived 2 weeks late. During that time, they called and asked us how big our TV was. Numerous facets of the design that were discussed in-person were either completely ignored or flat-out disregarded. Once we received the design and cost estimate, Lieve promptly left without explaining why the total cost before taxes and shipping was $84,000 ($37,800 over budget) Of this, $23,500 was her fee for 10 weeks of implementation. Her implementation fee is about 4x the market rate. For comparison, a friend of ours had a 1 story 4,00 sq ft home done in Central Texas by a reputable interior decorator for $80k - paint, curtains, furniture - everything. Final numbers were just over $91,000 (before taxes and shipping) to decorate 950 sq ft of the main floor of our home. Budget - what's that?!

Lieve and her amazing team helped us with cabinetry, countertops, and lighting design (as well as a million other smaller details) in our custom built vacation home. We were so thankful to have had Lieve’s experience and professionalism to help us navigate the waters of custom home building. The result is a decadent yet practical Scandinavian-meets-Texas-Hill-Country interior – exactly in line with not only our tastes/wants but with exactly the right amount of Lieve’s European-influenced-flair. We are so happy with Turnstyle Design –we would (and will) hire them again in a heartbeat. Lieve walks into a room and design challenges you thought were a big deal just disappear. After months of trying to remodel our kitchen on our own, my husband and I were ready to give up. We couldn’t pinpoint a style that we wanted to live with and I was constantly second guessing all of our design ideas. What if we put the stove in the wrong spot? Do we have shiplap energy right now? How many chandeliers are too many? Will we have to spend more money in the long run fixing our mistakes? Thankfully, I’m really good at wasting a lot of time on the internet and found a glimmering beacon of hope. One night I was browsing Austin kitchens on Houzz--and boy, I nearly spilled my bowl of unsalted peanuts. I found it. The kitchen. The kitchen that screamed out ‘I’m what you’re looking for!’ It was colorful, eclectic, and just really cool… And it was created by Turnstyle Design. I reached out to them right away and have never looked back. Lieve and her team designed an amazing kitchen for us that took a lot of aspects into consideration: the utilization and functionality of the space, the overall aesthetic, and how we would feel in the space. Best of all, they really took our thoughts and concerns to heart. I was really adamant about not tearing down a wall that another design team had suggested. Lieve not only made it a point to keep the wall but to design with the wall in mind. This meant we got a beautiful corner dining nook that we get to enjoy every single day. During the project, we were hit with plenty of challenges (hello old house with weird stuff in the walls) as well as the coronavirus. Amidst a pandemic, Turnstyle maintained an air of poise and sensitivity. While things had to move slower, they were absolutely concerned for our comfort and well-being, as well as those with whom they contract. Every contractor that Turnstyle sent to our house did an exceptional job and treated our home with respect. Turnstyle truly chooses great people to work with. We were left with a kitchen that is so unique! It’s bold and powerful. Full of color and pattern. Just so damn unabashedly fresh. It feels like us. There was no design detail left to chance--everything had a purpose and was tailored to how we want to live our collective life in this home. We linger a little longer in our new space, we have better conversations, and our food tastes a little better. We love our home and Turnstyle is welcome back anytime!
