She had such creative suggestions, and was able to guide us through the many decisions we needed to make with her great wealth of knowledge of all the elements, details and products that go into a kitchen and bath remodel, We ended up using her design input in other areas in of our remodel as well, and she was always super responsive to our questions. This really reduced the stress of a major remodel! Shannon has established a great working relationship with the local trades, so she was able to answer questions from our contractor and his subs directly----even in Spanish --which made the project go smoothly. Shannon Demma, Urbana Design Studio is simply amazing! She is fabulous to work with; she has high, positive energy all the time. She is flexible and listens to the client’s needs. She seamlessly walked me though an entire new house build process for interior design, purchase, and implementation. In the discovery phase, she created idea boards to help me visualize our ideas, and she created my floor plan for me to see how these ideas would implement. She also worked directly with my electricians and plumbers to ensure consistency of planning. Once we had a good idea of what I wanted, we went shopping. Shannon took me to multiple sites to preview tiles, quartzite, flooring, lighting, etc. That process is somewhat overwhelming and Shannon kept me calm the entire time. Once I decided on my products, Shannon ordered everything and managed that entire aspect (timelines, product returns when imperfect, costs, etc.), so I didn’t have to worry about anything at all. Then she held onto my products for a long time as my contractor was behind schedule. When ready, she supervised the installation of my products into my new home, working directly with the cabinet makers, tile installers, plumbers etc., always with a smile on her face. Shannon added so much value to my new home. I cannot say enough good things about Shannon. I recommend Shannon Demma 100%+!

Our home has been transformed in a way I could not have imagined, yet perfect for my taste and needs. Shannon is an amazing designer. I have owned my small house for almost 17 years and I always wanted to remodel the kitchen. I finally took the leap this year. We had the pleasure of working with Shannon for our kitchen remodel. She listened to what was important to us and then she went to work providing suggestions. She provided us with suggestions on things we had no idea we needed and I’m so thankful for her design and help through this process. A kitchen flue fire led us to redo the kitchen instead of fixing the damage. Having another firm's design proposal in hand, but not feeling warm and fuzzy about it, we decided to contact Shannon and Tony to redo our kitchen. The first benefit was the rendering, which let us realize we didn't like the other firm's design proposal. That became apparent from Shannon's rendering based on the other design she used as a base line for costing and cost comparison purposes. IMO, she fully earned her fee just for preventing us from doing something we ultimately wouldn't like. We were originally drawn to Shannon's designs after looking at a picture on Houzz that resolved a "problem area" in our kitchen, one the original design did not address, greatly enhancing usable space and adding some sexiness as well. It took us well over nine months to finalize a contract, as I was real slow to make up my mind on certain aspects of the job and Shannon was more than patient with my slow pace. In the end we think we developed a great design and build-out, and are very pleased with the final product. Shannon has a knack for design and attention to detail. This was readily apparent when she commented that we would hate having the fridge located next to a wall as the door could only open 90 degrees as in the original design. She saved us many other missteps as well. The subs are top of the line and true experts in their craft and she works very closely with them in the design phase such that construction/installation goes off without a hitch. The quartzite counter fabrication/installation was a true work of art. Shannon also went with us to the stone warehouse over the hill to ensure that we had a harmonious match between the cabinets, quartzite slabs, and backsplash. Another time she met us at the window showroom to select the windows, frames, and colors. She had us show up at one of their job sites to see the selected windows in action, and that helped us to select thinner frames instead. We really appreciated the hand holding. We also welcomed all the advice and evaluation of alternatives for all the other accessories, like lighting fixtures, cabinet hardware and all the other "minor" aspects where I'm sure we could mess up if left to our own devices without the benefit of her expertise. She also provided invaluable insights and guidance in the selection and placement of appliances to enhance kitchen functionality. In the end, we think the total experience was excellent.

I initially hired Shannon to design our kitchen but as our project grew, she stepped in and designed a master bathroom, entryway, stairway railing, exterior, loft space, and lighting. Not only did she create an absolutely stunning kitchen, anchored around a twelve foot island, but curated exceptional materials that reflect the way our family lives. Photos can show the finished product in all the rooms, but they don't reflect Shannon's depth of knowledge in all facets of design and construction (she is also very experienced with installation of products) or her greatest strength: her outstanding communication and professionalism with clients. She is able to translate the relationship between function, space, and application with patience and clarity -- an ability I have never experienced in the home improvement universe. Shannon is also incredibly patient with both big and small decisions, offering guidance and experience with everything from cabinet design to door handles. Lastly, Shannon is extremely professional, always punctual and prepared, and also kind, generous, and helpful with everyone else involved in our project. She is a true gem.

It's been a couple of months since our bedroom-bathroom remodel has been completed, and still, every morning, we wake up and say, "wow, this is just beautiful." I started with a remodel of the kitchen and one bath and was so impressed with the results that I asked them to do the entire house. A+. Professional, great communication, They ALWAYS showed up when they said they were showing up, super craftsman, very creative in the areas I wanted to be creative.......I am very happy with my beautiful home. Santa Cruz Design + Build Review We recently completed and kitchen, living & dining remodel with Santa Cruz Design + Build. We hired them for both the design and construction phases of the job. In the design phase we were completely impressed with Shannon’s creativity, design/product knowledge and read on our own personal style while still keeping aware of functionality and comfort. She provided us quotes for everything upfront and got approvals on any change orders during the process so there were never any surprises in cost. She created detailed plans and beautiful 3D renderings that allowed us to visualize everything prior to starting construction. During the construction phase Tony and his skilled team brought our dream to life! They are so knowledgeable and skilled in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, finish work and all aspects of the build process that we never ran into a situation where they could not complete a part of the design or questions they could not answer. They responded immediately to questions we had, kept us up to date on schedules and were flexible with any changes we asked to make. They were in our home for 3 to 4 months and by the end they felt like our family and friends. They were kind and respectful to our entire family (including inquisitive children and giant dogs!) and the constant parade of neighbors coming through to see the progress. And the best part, for all homeowners anxious to get back into their homes, they completed the job a few days earlier than their estimate! It helped that we hired the entire team (design & build) as they were able to quickly resolve issues and questions that came up often without having to involve us. They are organized and work hard and the results show it, I would recommend this team to anyone interested in doing a remodel and looking for gorgeous, on time results!

I can't say enough how much of a pleasure it's been to work with tony and Shannon at Santa Cruz Design+Build. Humbly speaking, I feel I have a decent eye for design but what I couldn't do alone is put my vision into a feasible construction project. Tony and Shannon did just that and then some. I have the utmost respect, admiration and gratitude for AD Construction. We have been working with Tony and Shannon on and off for over two years now. They have remodeled our entire home and transformed it into the home of our dreams. All in all, they’ve remodeled two kitchens, four bathrooms, replaced all the windows and sliders, redesigned and built an outdoor deck and tool shed, and designed and installed an outdoor BBQ area. Over the past 8 years, I have had the privilege of watching as Tony and Shannon, owners of AD Construction, transform my home into a stunning work of art. This extensive remodel has encompassed major exterior and interior renovation, including an addition of a master bedroom and Zen shower room, installation of Shoji screens, remodel of guest rooms and guest bathroom, outside Epay deck, and design of outside concrete patio. Currently, Tony and Shannon are designing a walnut staircase with metal railing. I feel incredibly fortunate to have Tony and Shannon working on creating the house I envisioned 8 years ago. I had hired AD Building and Design to do two of my bathrooms a few years ago. I was so impressed with the work of both Shannon and Tony that I hired them to do a remaining bathroom and my kitchen. Tony's attention to detail is amazing in every aspect from the prep for the project to the finishing details. Shannon was patience itself when we explored multiple layouts for my kitchen - which was totally gutted - and exploration of the differences between conduction cooktops and gas. AD Construction owned by Tony & Shannon Demma, have completed two remodel projects for our family. The first was a Capitola beach rental that was budget restricted and the second was our La Selva beach home. With the Capitola rental they created a place that we were so proud to put on the rental market. The kitchen was updated with granite and new cherry cabinets; the bathroom is superb with Tony’s beautiful tile work. It is like a little jewel box that did not appear to be finished on a budget. With the La Selva home we gave them creative license to build an environment that would bring the ocean views and beach environment into the La Selva house. With the La Selva house they created stunning ocean, beach and bluff views that we enjoy from inside the house as well as outside. On warm sunny days we can open up the entire front of the house to the seabreeze, sunshine and ocean sounds. It converts our home to a luxurious beach deck to watch the dolphins and sea life. At night, the lighting converts the house into a comfortable wonderland to watch the city lights of Monterey to Santa Cruz or the waves rolling onto the sand. Tony and Shannon worked diligently to put together a plan that created our vision for La Selva. The Capitola rental was so well done that we decided to live there during the AD Construction remodel of our beach home. We literally fell in love with the beautiful little rental home and actually contemplated staying there it was so comfortable. Shannon is wonderfully creative. Her design skills, creativity, practical ideas and color choices guide you to a great finish. Tony is a consummate craftsman. He pays attention to every detail from framing, electrical, and plumbing to his tile work. He will amaze you as you watch your project progress. They employ sub contractors that are equally up to their standards; every one did an impeccable job for us. Our La Selva beach house is a place where we arrive every time and say, “this place is just amazing”, thanks to Tony & Shannon. They listen to you, your desires, requests and strive to build your dream as you see it. AD Construction will not disappoint you!
