We recently moved from a modern, open floor plan home in the country to a Victorian in the city. We knew we needed direction and Kate was absolutely perfect for our project. Kate is like a breath of fresh air, she is enthusiastic, has exquisite taste and a mastery of space and color. She kept us on budget, helped us bring our personalities and aspirations for the space to life while honoring the architecture of our home. Kate was great at giving us direction without making us feel like it had to be her way. Working with Kate felt like having a dear friend help us bring out the best of our taste and our project's potential. We now have a first floor that is a joy to live in every day.

Wannemacher Interiors saved my sanity, if not my life! Long story short, my husband and I hired Kate to help us create our dream home of a recently purchased house. Very early in the process the contractor discovered a structural problem due to a poorly constructed addition. All previous plans had to be placed on the back burner to rebuild our home and make it safe. Needless to say, we were heartbroken, frustrated and angry. Without hesitation Kate revamped the entire project and she did so with grace, kindness and patience. We are still in the middle of this and Kate has been our ambassador from the very beginning. I look forward to seeing the beauty Kate will create from the current rubble.

Kate was a delight to work with in decorating our living room. Before embarking on the project, she asked many questions and then listened carefully to our responses in order to make certain that our family's needs were met. The result is an elegant yet comfortable space that we now use all the time. With a discerning and experienced eye, Kate also incorporated some of existing furniture and artwork (including a beloved painting) that made the room truly reflect our tastes and aesthetic. Importantly, we stayed on task and on budget thanks to her organizational skills, and she introduced us to several home resources. Truly, we couldn't be happier, and look forward to work with Kate on future projects.

We hired Wannemacher Interiors to design the first floor of our house. Kate designed and oversaw delivery and installation for everything including custom built-ins in several rooms, new kitchen countertops, furniture and furnishings including selecting new lighting and paint colors for the entire first floor. Kate is, in a word, fantastic! Her willingness to partner with clients is truly unique. The project scope developed after our initial meetings was proof positive that she listens. From the beginning, it was “our” project not “hers”. The design plans were spot on to my tastes and budget conscience. Kate took a “high, low” approach that allowed us to prioritize spend on the few pieces that mattered most (the best, family friendly, walnut dining table ever! with custom rug & curtains to match) and then get creative on the remaining details to complete the project without breaking the bank or compromising the overall design (I would have never thought of painting a canvas to use as a large scale piece of art, or stacking thin logs to create a sculptural work of art to fill a void and bring balance to an accent wall). She introduced me to talented craftsmen, and offered competitively priced pieces from her “to the trades” contacts. She was equally willing to share inspirational photos to guide me if I chose instead to source an item myself. Kate exceeded my every expectation and I will definitely work with her again, and again!

Both my husband and I have sought Kate's expertise on the aesthetic of our places of business and I would trust no one else at this point. Having a very specific individual style, I know what I want and usually how to execute it adequately. I am a hair and makeup stylist and my aesthetic is one of the most important aspects of my brand. The challenge for me was finding another set of eyes to help refine my vision while keeping it in tact and relevant to who I am and want to convey. Kate absolutely got it. She helped me re-work my loft space and gave me the confidence to use my favorite things in the most chic, stunning, simple ways. I tend toward more dark gothic, romantic styles and was working with a very modern, new space with a lot of natural light so there were challenges in keeping the integrity of that vision and utilizing the space. Kate has impeccable taste and a definitive eye for detail, proportion, texture and pattern. After living in NYC for ten years I wasn't incredibly certain I could find an interior designer in the Midwest who would understand my quirky/artistic/vintage/modern style sensibilities...however, she did. What I enjoy most about Kate (apart from her amazing eye) is her penchant for functionality. In this day and age many people have rooms they don't use yet complain about having "no space". Kate wants you to use ALL of your space so it becomes brilliantly useful for your specific needs (imagine that!). We used Kate initially to help us pick paint colors for our newly remodeled kitchen. She came up with a fabulous red, that we all just love, and that truly shows off the new cherry cabinets, granite and showcases the woods behind our home. Really makes everything pop! Since then, Kate has helped us pick additional paint colors for our home, even talking me in to painting the foyer a stunning blue/grey with yellow walls. Most recently, Kate totally transformed our living room from a rarely used space to a much cozier, livable space. In short we love the work Kate has done or us! Highly recommend her!
