Wild Madder Design

Kate did a brilliant job transforming my decrepit Cambridge garage into a writing and painting studio! From the choice of paint color, to the selection of furniture, and everything in between, she guided me through a series of decisions that resulted in a perfect workspace. Not only did she stay within budget, but she channelled the feeling I was looking for, one that makes me excited to sit down to work. I am very grateful to her, and look forward to further design collaborations. Kate is also very knowledgeable about landscape design. Come spring, I hope she will help me think about how to integrate this new building into the surrounding garden.

Working with Molly is fantastic. We have collaborated on four projects, two commercial and two residential. She gets my vision, does of a great job of reining me in a bit and keeping me focused. Molly offers a range of choices, and makes it easy to make the best choice. “Simple is best” are words I have really embraced, and her work is universally admired when I have shown my spaces. She makes me look good!

Kate Conklin was incredible in helping me to stage my house for sale. She has an impeccable eye and was able to re-purpose much of my existing décor to best show the house. For those additional items we had to purchase, she was always sensitive to my budget and would always steer me in the right directions, so I lost little time on shopping efforts. My family and friends were amazed at the before-and-after photos, post-staging. Kate was delightful to work with, always responsive and seemed to personally care about my house on a deep level. I recommend her very highly.

Wild Madder Design handled the staging and, essentially, the redecorating of my house in Grafton, Vermont to prepare it for sale. I think they did an incredible job and would recommend them without reservation. They were responsive to my needs, completely professional at every stage, and (since I live in California) had to take initiative and "go above and beyond" many times. They worked within the budget we set and finished on time. I could not have done this without them and I think the finished product is a testament to their hard work and excellent taste. I loved working with Molly and Kate! They turned vision to reality. Their process included lots of probing and listening to understand my aesthetic. Our experience with Wild Madder Design was incredibly positive. We moved into a 1950's ranch/camp with an expectation of a full exterior and interior remodel. We interviewed a number of designers and contracted with Molly and Kate for a number of reasons - their vision matched ours, pricing was very affordable for the quality of their work and they were patient with the many questions we needed answered. They met every deadline and were flexible as we searched for a contractor and then discussed options with the one we chose. The initial contract included a whole house design to give us a sense of the overall feeling and goals for the home, an original and redesigned floor plan and material selection for a new roof, siding and windows. The first phase of our renovation is the full exterior and we plan to renovate the interior next year. While we wanted to maintain a sense of nature in the home (we live in a forested area), we also wanted exterior materials that were low-maintenance. Our biggest concern was finding a mix of materials that fit this goal without the house looking cookie-cutter. With Wild Madder's help, we found the right mix of black standing seam roof, white vinyl board and batten and fantastic windows to highlight the views we have from the home. We will post before and after pictures once the renovation is complete. The layout options they provided (three total) has set the stage for our future interior renovation which will include new flooring, redesigning the master suite (including the removal of a wall, creation of a new hallway and relocating the current bathroom), new kitchen and extending the current living area into an enclosed porch.
