You can stop searching for your new interior designer because you’ve just found him. William is incredibly easy to work with, because of his calm demeanor and patience. He made this a real collaboration with his conscientious work style, thoughtful suggestions, and was always mindful of my budget. I never felt pressured in any way during the process. He was so helpful for everything from hanging art, to finding a furniture refinisher for my grandmother’s bedroom set, to going through innumerable fabric choices to find the right one. He was very intuitive, and with each iteration was able to suggest items that felt right and that he increasingly “got me”. I have really appreciated his insights, and good humor – especially when after much debate on my part, I decided on his original suggestion! I particularly appreciated his patience with my indecision. He made this process easy and fun. I find decorating overwhelming, and knew I needed professional help to make my small one bedroom apartment mine. I had inherited mismatched furniture from a larger place, and just didn't work in this space. Oh, and I work from home. We replaced all of my living room, kitchen and office area furniture to make it cohesive. William helped me find pieces to complement the antique bedroom set and make it look more modern. We also refreshed the bathroom accessories, and found a great étagère for my tiny awkwardly sized entryway. I literally breathe a sigh of relief every time I walk in my home now. If you’re still reading this, just stop, contact William now, and have a very pleasurable redecorating experience!

Bill has made the task of decorating my NYC apartment and East Hampton home a lot of fun. He provides lots of options and always considers my point of view. The entire process has been very collaborative.

Bill is a gem: easy to work with, reliable--and, most important, graced with a wonderful eye for color, line, and style--and the determination that his clients be happy. He listens, he looks, he works hard. He is smart, nice, and fun. His prices are reasonable, and is work is terrific.

We have worked with Bill on two projects and he's terrific. Both projects called for very different decor and we found him to be creative in his recommendations and problem solving. He really listens to the needs of his clients, is responsive and stays within budget. We have since recommended him to several friends that have been equally happy.

The most consistent compliment I receive on my apartment is that the decor reflects my personality, taste and style perfectly. I owe this self-representation to someone else entirely. Bill Kranyak turned what I believed would be a daunting and dreary task into a creative, painless adventure that I thoroughly enjoyed. I learned about Bill’s work through word of mouth. Our initial meeting took place at my newly purchased apartment that contained the accumulation of my life in no particular order. While we discussed timing and budget, he took stock of the scene. He asked thoughtful questions about the things I loved, from my favorite books to my African art still on the floor. We began our work together by wandering through furniture stores, an education for me where I learned I had some ideas that were more mutable than others. He observed what I did and did not like then suggested specific key pieces that would comprise the investment around which we would develop my interior space. Without any pressure from Bill, my apartment began to look like my home. Knowledgeable, responsive, easy to work with, and really fun best describe Bill and the experience of working with him. He listened to all my requests even seemingly impossible ones like wanting to have a dining room table for up to eight people in my small New York apartment. Bill always took my taste into account then came up with creative, effective solutions. He accomplished all of this without ever straining my budget, of which he was completely respectful. This is the first apartment I have owned and I expected to find each choice overwhelming. Thankfully Bill applied the same diligence to every design element as he did to the furniture. He would do the background work, present a focused selection of items he thought I would like then we collaborated on each detail until we had put together an entire apartment. He overlooks nothing, even helping me decide where to hang the African art and accompanying me to buy plants. I learned a tremendous amount about design, from lighting, carpets and fabric to custom made Italian dressers under Bill’s guidance. His talent and enthusiasm made this learning curve surprisingly interesting and memorably fun. I never felt any pressure to buy a piece or agree with his preferences, though I did about 90% of the time. He was only emphatic twice, once to change the color of my bedroom walls and the other time to encourage the purchase of a bookcase I loved but hesitated to buy. Today these are the two aspects most praised in my apartment, and I love them both. At the end of the process, I felt I had made each decision wisely thanks to his input, effort and patience. The pieces I bought are enduring; some are investment items and all I will keep forever. I have a chaotic life yet I smile everyday when I come home. I love every view from every seat and each item. Whenever I invite someone new over for the first time, I silently thank Bill as being complimented on my apartment never gets old.
