Youtopia Designs

This is the second time that we have hired Youtopia Designs to remodel our home. The first time we hired Youtopia Designs was a few years ago and it was a complete remodel on the first floor along with a design for the master bedroom & bathroom. We were thrilled with the way Youtopia Designs handled the project from the first meeting all the way through implementing the project to completion. The end results looked identical to the 3D drawings she created for us. Long story short, we sold that home and moved out of state. A few years later, we were back in the St. Louis Metro area and purchased a home that had a lot of potential but also needed a professionals eye to unveil the hidden beauty this home had. We called Youtopia Designs right away to get them started on this full home remodel. Youtopia Designs reworked the foyer that had a lot of nooks a cranny's and took something that we didn't think was possible to update and made it beautiful. In our great room, there was a tiny fireplace that looked so out of place and they came up with the most exquisite design that actually fits the scale of the room and adds storage. Another area that we absolutely love is the laundry room, they took a room that I would consider builder grade with no bells or whistles and made it extremely functional. We now have built in lockers which allow us storage for shoes, purses, coats, you name it, room for the washer & dryer, an additional cabinet for storage with counter space and our favorite part is the dog shower! The dog shower they designed is positively amazing in terms of the design and aesthetic. Our dog is big so its not the easiest to pick him up to put in the shower so Youtopia Designs created retractable stairs under the shower, this makes it so easy when bathing out dog because the stairs are out of the way and when the shower is over our dog can go down the stars himself! This is just a small part of the remodel they helped us with, they also designed the dining room, study, powder room, great room, master bedroom, master bathroom, kitchen, butlers pantry, hearth room and more! We cant thank Youtopia Designs enough and without a doubt would recommend them to anyone looking for an interior designer.

I recently purchased a condo in Central West End and was in need of advice on design. A friend in the building had used Youtopia Designs in the past for their condo and passed along their information to me. I called Candice Wideman of Youtopia Designs and discussed my project over the phone with her and then set up an in person meeting to discuss what I wanted to have done in my home. She was very thorough throughout the initial meeting asking a lot of questions about things I never would have thought of. I knew right then and there that this was the right interior design company for me! I hired Youtopia Designs to help me with the overall design of my foyer, office, living room, dining room & master bedroom. The ideas that Candice presented to me at our presentation meeting were fascinating! I don't know how she was able to dream up these ideas based on our meetings but she did it and I absolutely loved all of them! She was able to use the majority of my current furniture that I wanted to keep and selected new fabrics to reupholster these pieces, she came up with such an unique idea in my foyer which incorporated using a tile accent with a beautiful paint on the wall that ran down to the floor and into the office... What an amazing way to draw one’s attention into the room! She used this same concept as well in the office area that led into the dining room which was a stunning way to tie these two rooms together while still keeping them separate. In my dining room, she came up with an idea for my wall that incorporated a beautiful off-centered tile mural along with a large multi-piece mural centered on the back wall behind my dining table. It incorporated multiple intricate pieces with the main part of the mural consisting of a large photo of a Buffalo. I am from Wyoming love that she implemented part of my past into my present. In my master bedroom, I disliked waking up every morning to sitting up and seeing myself in the multiple mirrored closet doors on the wall across from my bed. I had no clue what we could do to update this other than replacing the mirror doors with new solid wood doors. This is where Candice came up with one of the most unique and surprising designs that literally astonished me. She kept the mirrors and had a custom muralist come and paint a mural directly on the mirrors that looked as though I was in the middle of a national park with a pond and trees all around. There were bits and pieces of the mirror that weren’t painted and parts that were. That really made the design on the mural feel like the water was reflecting my room! I highly recommend Youtopia Designs if you are looking for an interior design company who thinks outside of the box to create a truly one of a kind masterpiece in your home.

We had the pleasure of working with Kerrie Russell with Youtopia Designs on our recent home renovation project. What started out as a master bathroom renovation turned into renovating three bathrooms and all the flooring on our second floor. Kerrie's design skills are amazing. She gave us wonderful choices that made the project uniquely ours. She is an excellent communicator and she was invested in seeing the implementation of our project being done flawlessly and to meet our needs. We smile all the time, for our bathrooms and flooring are all beautiful and functional. They are much better than we could have envisioned ourselves. We would highly recommend using Kerrie. Initially I wrote this review as a one star, believing that Youtopia had charged us for consultation and then backed out of the job. While they did decide that they didn't have the bandwidth to do our job right now, they never cashed our check, which was a professional move that we much appreciate. Once we communicated and figured out what happened, I changed the review, based on our consultation experience (which was really great). Candice and Kerry had great ideas and got back to us quickly with cost estimates. While our job didn't work out right now, I'd still recommend Youtopia to folks looking for designers.

We have worked with Youtopia Designs multiple times and each time they deliver an amazing design. The first time we hired them they created an amazing kitchen layout and design when we were at a complete loss of what we could do. They were able to maximize the amount of storage that we desperately needed and created a functional kitchen that is absolutely beautiful and fits the way our family functions in the room. Youtopia Designs designed our dining room in conjunction with the kitchen and found beautiful pieces of furniture that fit our style perfectly. One of our favorite things about the dining room is the detail they created for the ceiling using distressed wood planks in a reverse diamond pattern to highlight the chandeliers and table below. The second time we hired Youtopia Designs they helped us design our living room. This room was extremely tricky as it is long and narrow, but the designers created an amazing furniture layout that actually fits this room and looks good! The furniture selections along with the accessories, window treatments and lighting were exactly what we wanted but did not know how to put together. We have just hired Youtopia Designs again for the 3rd time to help us figure out how to properly design our newly finished basement and can't wait to see what they have planned for us!

I have hired Youtopia Designs twice to help me with my home and have nothing but rave reviews to say. The first time I hired them they helped me design my kitchen, dining room and living room. The 3 rooms were extremely difficult for me to figure out what to do with because the spaces were divided by walls and door openings which made the layouts challenging. Youtopia Designs created a layout that closed up one door opening and then completely opened up the walls between the dining room & kitchen which allowed for a functional space that allows me to entertain. Not only was the layout amazing but the overall design was exactly what I wanted! All of the finished from the cabinetry, countertops, backsplash tile and lighting were stunning and matched my design aesthetic to a T. The second time I hired them they designed my bathroom which again was difficult as the space isn't very large. However, they maximized the storage by removing a pedestal sink and designed a free floating vanity with storage that had flamingos as the cabinet knobs. I wanted to incorporate pink and green colors in this room and Youtopia Designs found stunning tiles for the flooring and shower walls that addressed the colors I wanted. Even more amazing was the way they designed the tiles to be installed, it was the perfect blend of each color. To compliment the tile, they found an amazing wallpaper with palm leaves that we used as an accent wall which took this room to the next level. I highly recommend.

When I purchased my new home I needed help with space planning, furniture, artwork and accessories to truly make the space feel like a home that myself and my guests would be comfortable in! My brother hightly recommended Youtopia Designs and so for me, I knew early on that I wanted to get them involved. We focused on my Living Room area, Kitchen and Breakfast Room as well as my Master Bedroom and Office spaces. They made all the selections within my provided budget and even came to stage everything at the end to make sure all the finishing touches were just right.

We hired Youtopia Designs during the process of building our forever home and needed help with everything! When we initially met with our designer for our initial consultation she was very professional and took notes throughout the entire meeting listening to both of our likes and dislikes. She took this information and created a design that we never could have imagined. From the flooring, paint colors, accent walls, lighting, etc everything she showed us we absolutely loved. Originally our plans for the great room had a tray ceiling but Youtopia Designs took the ceiling plans to the next level by eliminating the tray ceiling and creating a semi-circle soffit with wood beams in a starburst pattern. In addition to the great room, she included an amazing ceiling design for our first floor and second floor master suite. As Candice has said, your ceiling is just as important as the walls & floor! This company is an extraordinary design firm and authentic, we highly recommend hiring Youtopia Designs if you are building a home and recommend getting them involved in the very beginning stages!

We really love working with Youtopia Designs! Kerry and Candice are great designers, and on top of that, are fun and very professional! We were referred to Youtopia Designs by a friend who had used them in the past and highly recommended them. We just purchased a home but it was in dire need of a remodel as a lot of things were dated and in general not our style. In addition to the remodel we also needed help selecting furniture, art, window treatments, accessories, etc for the entire house in addition to furniture for the exterior. Upon meeting with Youtopia Designs they walked through the entire house with us and took a lot of notes and photos on what we discussed that needed to be done and also asked a lot of valuable questions on things that we hadn't thought of. Once we hired Youtopia Designs, they hit the ground running and were amazing at prioritizing what tasks needed to be completed first. They worked closely with our contractor to make sure the exact items we wanted were ordered and installed correctly and also took care of getting all of our furniture and other items ordered for us and placed exactly where they belonged in each room. We are a busy family with a baby and needed someone to take care of things for us and this is exactly what they did. They are on top of their game and came up with amazing ideas that were truly unique. We highly recommend Youtopia Designs to anyone who needs to remodel their home or just needs a room decorated.

Candice was our designer for our lake house remodel. My husband and I normally make these decisions ourselves. We have never used a designer and were hesitant to use someone as we are very picky. Candice exceeded our expectations with her ideas and products that she found for us. She was also able to find items that were less expensive and better than what we had found, which saved us money. She is excellent and I highly recommend her!!
