The San Deigo Department of Environmental Quality has established strict guidelines for disposal of bio-hazardous waste. California revised statute 44-1342 provides for penalties of $500 per incident of improper disposal of bio-hazardous waste. So what falls into this category? All needles, gloves and gauze for starters, essentially anything that can contain blood or bodily fluids.
