Annie Newell Creative Space Planning llc. specializes in design solutions for your complete kitchen remodel. Annie is driven to transform your kitchen into a space to truly enjoy cooking and spending time in. The difference between hating to cook and loving it can be made with a great kitchen design! Even if you don't plan to cook much, a great kitchen design will help you to enjoy hanging out in the space.
Your needs are prioritized and Annie listens attentively and delights in applying ideas unique to your desires and lifestyle. Her passion is found in creating designs that are very appreciated, sometimes surprising and always thoughtfully considered.
Hire Annie to design and complete fully detailed drawings. These drawings are the property of the client and thus can be taken to cabinet makers or suppliers of their choice for quoting/purchasing of cabinetry.
Optionally, Annie can be hired to specify and order the cabinetry and to oversee the entire kitchen remodel.
Growing up Annie was using her creative mind to come up with both inventive and artistic projects. They included painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and building with Legos or found objects. Her curiosity and fascination with thinking of ways to make things function better while also having beauty led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science, Industrial Design degree. In her early career as an Industrial Designer, Annie learned to design for form and function. This skill translated well into the ability to design both visually appealing and functional kitchens.
Annie is from NJ and worked for a high end custom kitchen design and cabinetry firm there for many years. She moved to the Charlotte area in 2006 and worked for a firm here for 2 years before branching out on her own.
As the mother of 4 kids, Annie made it a priority to cook meals for her family to enjoy together. The kids are mostly all grown but she still makes a point to cook and share meals with her family. Cooking and baking and spending time in the kitchen has been and still is an integral part of her life. Annie would love to help you create a kitchen to enjoy for years to come.
Annie is available for in person and/or remote consultations! For remote consultation, communication via email and phone is utilized effectively.

I worked with Annie on a DIY kitchen remodel using Cabinet Joint RTA cabinets. This was my first experience working on a design virtually. Would I do it again - YES. I felt Annie brought a lot of experience to the table, and held my hand through the entire process. She treated me fairly, was clear and reasonable about changes that were not in the original contract, and (this is big for me) admitted where a mistake was made and corrected it accordingly. If you are considering a DIY kitchen remodel and are on a tight budget, I would highly recommend using Cabinet Joint cabinetry and Annie's services during the design phase. I have several other projects planned, and may very well use Annie's services for those as well.

We had asked Annie to do a kitchen and laundry room plan for us on our to-be-built retirement home in Boone, NC. She responded promptly, stayed in touch with us throughout the process, and produced two lovely and functional rooms for us to enjoy for many years to come. In addition, she agreed to assist us with the materials ordering process and to help our builder in any way that she could. Her fees are quite reasonable and we would not hesitate to use her services again in the future.

Annie did a great job designing my kitchen layout for my remodel. During the process she was always responsive. Annie had some great ideas on what type of cabinets to put in different locations of the kitchen. Additionally, she was knowledgeable in terms of those smaller details, items such as cabinet led molding. Another critical aspect, she was thorough in making sure the dimensions were accurate and now that we are assembling the kitchen there have been no issues. I'm really glad I found her to do my kitchen design!

Annie designed our kitchen in 2006, and she did an amazing job. I was highly skeptical of having a designer work remotely (I live in Southern California, and Annie is located in North Carolina) but communication was excellent throughout the process. With Annie's help, we completely gutted our old kitchen and created a new (and highly improved) one - and most incredible of all, Annie found a way to make space for a kitchen island for us, something I didn't think possible! We get compliments on our kitchen whenever we have guests over, and we use that kitchen island every day. I'm really grateful for Annie's creativity and professionalism.
