Barbara was absolutely wonderful to work with. She helped us with a major remodel of several rooms including out kitchen including not only the design, but also assistance with finishes. She was always available by text or emal to help with issues as they popped up during construction as well. It's great to have someone so experienced that is willing to help you achieve your vision, not create a copy paste space like so many designers do.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Barbara Stock on the remodeling of our kitchen, laundry room, and guest bathroom. From the outset, Barbara's expertise was evident. Our home’s dated primary bathroom was years overdue for a complete overhaul. It needed to be torn down to the studs and rebuilt from scratch. Since we had never done a major remodel, and especially one as complex as a bathroom, we were in serious need of expert design advice. We were very fortunate to connect with Barbara and her wealth of experience. She did a fantastic job of providing wonderfully creative yet totally workable ideas, and guiding us to translate our desires into realistic designs. She is truly an artist. Barbara provided and refined floor plan options, including elevations, for our relatively small space, that we never could have thought of by ourselves. Moreover, we were initially overwhelmed by the sheer number of different design elements available – tiles, fixtures, furniture, paint colors, lighting and more. From the huge variety of possible choices, Barbara reviewed and prescreened options for us, including in-person trips to many local vendors, that were compatible with our contemporary design desires and would work well together, and she helped us narrow down to final decisions. We had so many questions that she always answered promptly and knowledgeably. In parallel we were undertaking a second major project, having the entire exterior of our 2600 square foot house painted. From the huge variety of possible colors, Barbara presented us with a screened palette of about 20 colors and helped us make the final paint selections for the siding/stucco, trim, and shutters. The projects are now approaching completion and everything looks wonderful! Thank you Barbara!

We are so blessed to have found Barbara! We had a Kitchen remodel that we needed to get started on right away. From the first communication, Barbara contacted us right away! She was always extremely fast with her responses to our questions, no matter how big or small. She was honest, professional and went above and beyond in everything she did for us. We explained our 3 different visions and she helped us narrow it down to the best options that would help us achieve our "must-haves". Then, after her first sets of drawings, she made many modifications so that we finalized a design that we wanted. She was always such a good listener and never pushed her own ideas. When I had a question about something, she would always send me visuals so I could have resources and see which idea I wanted. She has such a great way of giving her professional opinion, while honoring and respecting what we wanted. I've rarely seen that in a designer. I will highly recommend Barbara to anyone looking for a designer and I hope to work with her again in the future!

Barbara created an old school blueprint for our master bath project, which included multiple elevations and revisions. Barbara is a good listener and I am confident that our remodel was designed perfectly. We are looking forward to the finished project in the Spring. We also traveled together to numerous tile shops as I needed help with the tile picks. My husband Michael and I can highly recommend Barbara for all of your designing needs.

My husband and I moved into an 80s "white box" with great bones, a beautiful yard, and fabulous location with our 6 month old twins. We were overwhelmed at furnishing a house together for the first time. Barbara is like marriage therapist and master interior designer in one, and I could always trust her expert eye! My husband's taste is very different from mine, and she not only helped us strategize functionality and livability in the space, but did everything from help design a custom architectural window seat/bookcase to detailed suggestions including knobs, fabrics, and numbers of pillows for our family, living/dining, and master bedrooms. She helped turned this house into a forever home. I also appreciated that she helped us maximize our budget. With so much to do, we had to bargain hunt. She found a massive high quality sofa on NextDoor that retails for $3500 (which we bought for $100) and helped us reupholster for less than half the retail price! Total steal. I look forward to watching our boys grow up here and consulting with Barbara for future rooms in the house as our budget allows.

Barbara has added so many wonderful elements to two of our homes. She has contributed significantly not only to the kitchen designs, but was a sounding board for other important decisions, such as hardwood floors, paint colors, lighting, hardware and furniture. Before purchasing our current house, Barbara, at our request, met us and consulted on-site to help us assess renovation design possibilities for other homes we very interested in that required upgrades. She is a huge asset for kitchen, bath and laundry room designs, or even if you just need help with other projects like refreshing a guest bedroom, kids room, workout space or office. As I sitting writing this review, I look around to see how Barbara’s touches enhanced this room, especially the paint color which made this space perfect for me!

I recently was in need of extra rooms and decided to convert my garage. Barbara had already done wonders with my kitchen and master bathroom, so she was my first and only call to design the new space. She is a master at getting the most out of a small space, creating something both functional and beautiful. The garage became 2 good sized rooms (with some creative use of space in order to accommodate the difference in floor heights by including a platform bed). In the adjacent space, she then carved out a pantry and good sized cabinet with large drawers to compensate for my loss of storage in the garage, in addition to an ADA compliant bathroom for my mother. The result makes it all look as if part of the original layout of the house. She even matched my existing travertine floor to make it all flow as one area! I cannot recommend her enough. All was done quickly and within budget (except where I kept adding things I wanted!) She also developed a great rapport with the contractor I had chosen. If you need to remodel or add rooms, look no more. Barbara is the best!

Always a pleasure working with Barbara and her lovely clients we (Walker Zanger-North Hills) work together as a team to guide them with their appropriate selections, choices are always tasteful and well thought out. In addition, Barbara manages to keep track of her orders each and very step of the way for her clients particularly very detailed with each phase of the projects, making sure materials are ready and waiting when needed. Nevertheless at final phase her clients are extremely pleased and super happy.

Barbara Stock worked with us on a recent kitchen renovation in West Hills. She brought the client to us, along with preliminary design plans. Barbara collaborated well with the client and us to finalize the plan. Once construction started, she made sure decisions were made, appliances, hardware, paint colors, etc., were selected, and specs forwarded to our company, so design decisions never held up our crew. When changes or issues arose, she worked with us to solve them in a timely manner. We all worked together well to minimize cost and maximize the benefit to our client. I was a fan of Barbara long before I met her after seeing pictures of a house she had done in a magazine. Years later when I saw on Houzz that she was available, I was thrilled. Barbara came to me with a wealth of experience, knowledge, and creativity. I have worked with Barbara Stock in the design and construction management of three home rehab projects. She created floorplans, selected materials and finishes and added the little touches that turn a house into a inviting home. Beyond her talent as a designer she was a pleasure to work with. When unexpected construction issues came up, as they always do, she had creative ways to resolve these setbacks and put the project back on course. She also had the respect of the construction crew and would regularly communicate instructions to ensure the project looked perfect. There was no running after her and un-returned phone calls. So if you are looking for someone to help you style your home and give you suggestions or someone to handle it all the way through construction, Barbara is more then competent, she is talented.

When I saw Barbara's kitchen, I knew I wanted one just like hers. So, when I found out she had designed and managed the project, I hired her! She delivered everything I asked for and much more. Her designs for my cabinetry and walls were full of lovely touches, and her attention to detail made for a elegant and well thought out "look." Seven years later, I still wouldn't change a thing. In fact I was so happy, that a few years later, Barbara also re-did my bathroom.
