While it is a shame that we could not finish this project, it is compounded by false and inaccurate statements. The project had been signed in January but did not start until February. Shortly after the start of production, we got bombarded by rain. Day after day, it rained and not just a little, a lot. Also to compound the rain was the condition of the soil (it was primarily clay) and the drainage conditions. Because of that we ended up importing load after load of fill dirt and sand that WE paid for so that we could negate the time we had to wait for drying out so as to continue with the grading and concrete work. Well after the slab was poured, we started framing.
One day work - one day rain.
Frustrating for all.
As for fixing things that "were not not done right", the Client, a salesman, kept trying to tell our professionals how to do things. We lost several pros due to this. Also, when it came time for draws, wow - that was a challenge. Only at draw time did the disagreements happen. There is not a person in America that is going to continue working for free. After a month of asking, well, we had to throw in the towel.
By the way, the project (check out HIS pictures) looks pretty good despite the total lack of details in the plans supplied by the Client.as far as the concrete not being paid is wrong that was paid up front to the concrete supplier
