Ten years ago Benson Homes did the remodel of our master bath and our hall bath. We were extremely pleased with the results so when it came time for a remodel of our kitchen, which would include a reconfiguration of the layout, the half bath and the small laundry area we knew there was only one company, Benson Homes, we would trust to do the project. Jim Benson, his staff and contractors are all very knowledgeable, personable, accommodating and easy to work with. Benson Homes works with you every step of the way from design, taking into consideration what you the homeowner envision and then giving you options you may not have considered, to choosing materials and appliances. The contract is explained in full and you are given a timeline for the work. All work done is handled in a professional manner with attention to detail. In our instance we wanted to retain our wood flooring, which was done in 2004 and since our kitchen layout was changing the original flooring was no longer available. Benson Homes went above and beyond to locate a very similar product and was able to incorporate it into the existing floor and it works perfectly. As work progresses if any issue arises, no matter how small, it is dealt with immediately. The results are beautiful. We are so happy with the remodel and highly recommend Benson Homes.

We have been working with Benson for the past couple years. They worked with us to identify our end goals and the phased the renovations to meet our timeline and budget. I had a small space in a narrow house for a kitchen renovation. Benson Homes helped to completely reimagine the space and redid both my laundry room and powder room along with the kitchen and it feels like each change doubled (at least) the usable space. They have outstanding designers who work closely with you, but are also happy to work around your schedule. Their workers are polite and thorough - every day they completely cleaned the areas to minimize dust. All the features are high quality - Jim, the owner, is also very hands on and was responsive to all of my questions. I also loved that they gave regular updates on progress and any delays, which will happen on any project. The communication with the whole team was excellent. I couldn't be happier with the end product!

We selected Benson Homes to replace our front porch and doors. From start to finish we received exceptional service from everyone involved. Our Project Coordinator led us through the design process to finalize options that complimented the style we envisioned. We were provided with a very complete and accurate estimate up front detailing all work involved including the schedule. The Master Carpenter for our project was both highly skilled and professional. He maintained a neat and orderly worksite. Throughout the project we received weekly in-person updates from our Project Coordinator. OUTSTANDING, HONEST, QUALITY WORK!!! Jim and his team came in and save me and my Family. We had gone with a different contractor to build an addition for my son who had a diving accident and was made quadripelic. Our house did not have any bedrooms or accessible bathrooms downstairs. the other contractor was supposed to be completed in 120 days and it was almost 10 months and failing city inspections. Jim and his team came in and corrected all the errors and finished up quickly. he went out of his way to ensure quality of the work and even went further than what he had to. The addition is wonderful and my son had a very usible space. Thank you Jim.

Benson Homes was professional and thorough from the start, with Jim (the owner) involved every step of the way for our kitchen remodel and complete redo of the floors on our first story. They were very committed to showing us a properly rendered draft of what our FINISHED project would look like, down to the exact materials in the precise places, and how it worked with the adjacent rooms. They communicated daily with us on progress and anything unexpected that came up. The lead contractor, Ryan, was the perfect person to head up our project (which wound up uncovering a looooot of issues), and was on site every day to ensure continuity and quality. Even with me having to travel for work and my husband sleeping during the day (night shift), we had no doubts that the job was in good hands. The quoted price was a little higher than we were aiming for, but you absolutely get what you pay for, and the quality with Benson was unquestionable. And with a lifetime guarantee that they'll come out to address any issues that arise at any time, there was no doubt. They stuck to the time-line promised, even with having to do some pretty extensive, unexpected corrections for water damage and a termite colony, though this naturally pushed the budget higher than originally quoted. I am in love with our kitchen every single day. It's still hard to believe the transformation it went through, but the function is infinitely better, and the beauty and quality is incredible. We just hosted our first party since the renovation last week and the openness to the living room made for easy entertaining.....not to mention everyone was drooling over the kitchen. We would definitely hire Benson Homes again! They are worth saving up a little extra money for.

After interviewing a handful of other builders and reviewing references, we selected Benson Homes to do our remodel. Jim Benson was professional, knowledgable and humble. We felt a sense of confidence turning our home over to his team to add a pool bathroom, renovate our laundry/utility room and combine our two existing bathrooms. It was refreshing to work with a team that respected our home and our wishes as two prior experiences with remodeling using other companies did not go anywhere near as well. Had used Benson Builders in the past for some remodeling and was pleased with their professionalism and knowledge. Straightforward. Needed someone to construct a 12 x 20 greenhouse and was having trouble finding a contractor with this experience. Although their experience with greenhouses was limited, decided to hire them. It was a learning experience for both of us, but the end result was truly spectacular. Was built partly from a kit from Canada, and Jim and the crew were in frequent contact with the company to work out construction, especially since it was a custom size. Excellent follow-up for minor adjustments.

We hired Benson Homes to renovate our master bedroom, bath and closets. After selecting tiles, plumbing accessories, furniture vanity and shower glass we were given a comprehensive plan for design. Several days before demolition began, they provided a detailed daily schedule of progress which to my amazement was followed. Looking back, the renovation progressed so quickly that the inconvenience was minimal. Every trade that entered our home was professional, efficient and friendly. The construction site was cleaned daily and carpets protected from debris. So much progress was made each day that we were excited to see what was next. We have lived through several other renovations and there is no comparison. Our completed project is beautiful, exceptional, so much more than we could have imagine. We hired Benson Homes to complete our whole house renovation. The work included: fixing structural problems; relocating the laundry room to the second floor; remodeling the kitchen and all three bathrooms; upgrading electrical items; installing new hardwood floors; and various other items throughout the house. Benson Homes provided all the services to assist in the selection process from the appliances, to cabinetry, to tile work, to countertops, to flooring, to fixtures, to paint colors, to carpets, to roof replacement options, to any area being addressed during the remodeling, no matter how small. Benson Homes was always responsive to our questions. We found all responses to be objective and forthright, with the overriding desire to ensure we understood what was involved in each decision and what tradeoffs existed when alternatives were available. Benson Homes recently remodeled my 28 year old kitchen. My wife and I worked with Jim and a designer to develop the most efficient utilization of the existing space. Enlarging an opening to the family room was suggested early in the process and, with hesitation, we agreed to the change. Jim and Carol were right on the mark. The entire kitchen and adjoining family room now flows much better. The cabinet layout and appliance recommendations were designed specifically around our expectations and desires. A Project Manager was assigned to our renovation from day one. He was instrumental in working with the subs, doing construction work and acting as Quality Control throughout the project to completion. The entire project stayed VERY close to the established work timeline. I was ALWAYS able to reach Jim Benson or the Project Manager with any question or concern. They quickly resolved a couple of issues that arose during the project. They were extremely responsive and helpful. I’m sure that it cost me a little more money due to the personal attention to my project and the resulting “hand holding” that I received, but I feel it was worth the added cost. I would definitely use Benson Homes again and would, without hesitation, recommend them to anyone.

Over the years we have had a number of contractors work in our home. Benson Homes has been the very best. We had used Benson Homes for numerous small projects in and around our home, so when it became necessary for a full master bath remodel we felt confident that Benson was the best chioce. We met with Jim Benson, Graduate Master Builder, to discuss the design elements and the budget available for the project. We had some specific needs in this remodel, a fully handicap-accessible bathroom with a widened doorway, walk-in tub, accessible shower, ceiling fan, wall heater, additional lighting and electrical needs and raised countertops. The advance planning involved professional expertise and research to accommodate the different elements we needed in the room. Benson Homes’ interior designer developed the initial design and assisted with selections for tile, cabinets, paint, etc. The final design met our needs within the current footprint of our bathroom and has resulted in an aesthetically clean flow of lines and great functionality. And within the budget we had established for the project! This planning allowed the project to proceed smoothly, on time and on budget. The week of the demo came and we were concerned that the whole house would be a mess. Amazingly, our entire bathroom was in the dumpster very quickly and the mess was confined to the bathroom which had been completely sealed off from the rest of our home. Our floors and carpets were covered to protect them. Work areas were left clean each day. We received weekly updates in the timeline of the various aspects of the project and were always informed of changes at every step of the way. Subcontractors were professional, competent and respectful. Every challenge that arose was met in a timely manner by the contractor, working with his subs to meet our specific needs. When the comfort-height toilet was installed, we discovered the industry standards had changed and it was too low for our needs. A solution was found in short order, installed within a few days, keeping the project on schedule. The goal of Benson Homes was to meet our needs at every stage of the project, which they did – with creativity and excellence at every point. Another example of their creativity was the shower enclosure. In order to avoid the mold problem that existed in our bathroom since we purchased the home nineteen years ago, the design called for a frameless enclosure. The glass company informed us that the size of the shower would not allow a frameless enclosure due to safety concerns. The contractor spent several days researching the available design elements, talking with other glass companies and finally coming up with a design to provide the frameless enclosure with the strength needed to insure a safe shower. It looks beautiful. And no mold! Inside the original footprint of the room, we now have an attractive and functional bathroom. Attention to detail was exceptional. Quality materials were used throughout. Jim Benson and his staff were responsive to our questions and helpful in every way imaginable. Although the project has been completed for a couple of months, any minor problems still remaining have been resolved very quickly. They have earned our trust, because they are trustworthy! Jim Benson and his team at Benson Homes are the most professional, knowledgable, experienced, and likable group of employees ands skilled trademen that you will ever meet. We originally hired Benson Homes to design and renovate our kitchen. That project grew into a redesign of nearly the entire house. During that process, the hands on involvement by the seasoned, competent Benson teamreassured us that the project was proceeding as outlined with every detail discussed, and that the end results were going to be spectacular!!! Another amazing job! After our kitchen remodel, we knew that we wanted to have the same professional experience with our master bathroom renovation. Benson Homes did not disappoint. Extremely professional, curteous, clean, responsive and on time are words to describe the staff.

We added a sunroom and deck and remodeled our kitchen, family room and powder room. The sunroom replaced a previous deck previous and a new composite deck was built. We knocked out a wall to expand our kitchen, installed new cabinets and appliances, converted our stove from electric to gas. We added and redesigned windows from the family room to the sunroom and installed a flat screen TV with surround sound in the family room. The downstairs hallway bathroom with a tub was converted into a powder room. We installed hardwood floors in the kitchen, powder room and family room and slate tile in the sunroom. Jim Benson is the consummate professional and provides full service from design thru build. He listened to our needs and desires and used his expertise to guide us. His associate, Carol Eubank, an interior designer provided numerous suggestions which improved the design of our project. We had regularly scheduled meetings to review the progress. Eric, the project foreman, was very professional, courteous and attentive. Shawn Anderson, the landscape archiitect of Visonscape, referred to us by Jim, did a wonderful job of coordinating the landscape and lighting with our new addition to enhance the final look. The work and materials are of the highest quality. We have used Jim previously for a bedroom addition and he stands behind his work. He has been very responsive in resolving the few warranty issues. Jim has proven to be very knowledgeable, ethical, trustworthy and easy to work with. We would highly recommend Jim Benson and his team for any home renovation project.

Our first experience with Benson Homes was in 2007 when we contracted them to replace the siding on our home, build a screened porch and replace our deck and some exterior doors. They met with us to discuss our goals and provide options. They were professional, timely and very well prepared for our meetings. As with many remodels, there were surprises and unexpected challenges with replacing the siding. We were pleased that Jim Benson listened to our concerns. He was accomodating to move a more experienced project manager to our project. Subcontractors were called back to the job until it was done correctly. The quality of workmanship that Jake, our project manager, did with the construction of our screened porch and deck was quite impressive. He was skilled, knowledgable, and very much a perfectionist. Jake treated our home as if it were his, always cleaning both the garage and exterior of our home at the end of each day. Since then we have used Benson Homes for multiple smaller projects around our house, including replacing all of our skylights. The quality of the workmanship is impressive. Most importantly, through our experiences with Benson Homes, we trust them to do quality work on our home in a respectul and professional manner. If something doesn't seem to be right, they always return to correct the problem. Jim Benson is a high quality and professional businessman.
