I highly recommend Cyndi Mosher at Beyond the Box. She designed my beautiful kitchen remodel nine years ago that I still receive compliments on. She recently designed my gorgeous primary and hall bathrooms. Cyndi is easy to work with and has excellent designs. Cyndi is an experienced pro who I trust implicitly. I’m so happy with the results.

This is a very long overdue review... Over the course of several years we worked with Cyndi Mosher at Beyond the Box on a complete rebuild of our Westside home in Santa Cruz. The project was primarily an owner build, so between that and the pandemic it ended up being a multi-year project. Over the course of planning and building we worked very closely with Cyndi - not only on the designs for our kitchen and bathrooms but for general design help throughout the house. Cyndi was absolutely wonderful to work with throughout the whole process. Not only was she incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and helpful - she had an inordinate amount of patience (and tact!) in helping us navigate through the thousands of decisions that had to be made. She was adept at creating a cohesive design out of our rather ad hoc lists of likes and dislikes, and did so without imposing her own personal preferences or style. My husband and I also both appreciated that she was very pragmatic - she understood that we weren't interested in building a mansion and was very good about pointing out the areas where it made sense to spend and where it didn't. Her knowledge and contacts in the business were invaluable, both in terms of the quality of the workmanship we ended up with as well as access to resources that we would not have been able to find on our own. When it came time to order all our cabinets and countertops she handled every last detail, and made sure that what we ultimately received exactly matched her specifications. I was originally hesitant to hire a designer, both because of the additional cost and also because my husband and I are both fairly practical and were more interested in function over form. We have no regrets - engaging Cyndi to help us with the project was money that was very well spent. Not only did it prevent expensive mistakes, but we love the results. After living in the house for over a year I can honestly say that there isn't anything that she helped design that I would do differently if given the chance. Cyndi guided us through our first major remodel project, and we couldn't be happier with the process from start to finish, and even more so, the end result. She completely opened up our original 1968 kitchen, designing something incredibly thoughtful, functional & efficient, stylish, detailed, all while incorporating our needs. The same goes for our challenging master bath. Loved working with Cyndi, and would do so again.

Cyndi made sure that our vision became a reality! She is so easy to work with and took everything from our “wish list” into consideration when she designed our kitchen. She is very detail oriented and our project came together without a hitch. We are thrilled to have our dream kitchen/family room and couldn’t be happier with the design. Can’t wait to have her help me with our master bathroom!!

Cyndi is amazing! She has a talent for design and she is wonderful to work with. She listened and took my vague ideas and turned them into a gorgeous kitchen. I could not have done it without her vision, direction and suggestions. I had no idea how to design a kitchen. Once I saw her design I knew I could trust her. The design was perfect for the space. Also, her extensive knowledge of what materials and colors to use was so valuable. She helped choose everything: cabinets, backsplash, hood, pulls, lighting etc. Her recommendations were perfect and kitchen is stunning! She also took extra time to make sure the installation was correct and stopped by many times during the process just to double check. I always felt well taken care of by Cyndi and knew I could trust her for questions on the big and small details. Also, she is a super nice person and lovely to be with. I am excited to have Cyndi help with bathroom remodeling as our next project!

Earlier this year my husband Bob and I decided to screw up our courage and redo the 1971 kitchen we'd had for 45 years. We were a bit apprehensive, to say the least. Being older, and only somewhat familiar with modern options and possibilities, we decided to hire a kitchen designer. I contacted Beyond The Box and Melanie Asnis came to meet with us. She was professional and thourough, but also warm, friendly and open to our limited number of thoughts about wants/don't wants. I had saved a magazine layout of a kitchen remodel that I liked the looks and feel of and she greeted that with enthusiasm, even liking my desire for yellow to be a major factor. She came up with many good ideas and changes and was very tactful and gentle in guiding us into better options than we sometimes came up with. She also put us in touch with a reliable contractor who turned out to be the perfect person for the job. It became a major project of kitchen, laundry and 1/2 bath. She drew up detailed plans (several times as things changed and evolved) and the kitchen was stripped down to the studs and entirely rebuilt with new cabinets, countertops, flooring, lighting, sinks, faucets, appliances, paint, etc. Melanie was always available and there every step of the way to help us choose and coordinate it all. She was also there to consult with the contractor and workers whenever her input was needed. Bob and I are both delighted with our new kitchen. Everything came together perfectly and it is bright and beautiful and just what we wanted. Besides being beautiful, it is extremely functional. The increased storage, ease of use, well planned practical placement of things make it a joy to work in. We could not be happier. I thank my lucky stars that Melanie answered our call for help. It has been a pleasure and a very positive experience to work with her.

We had a very disfunctional kitchen floorplan, which had to be completely re-thought. Melanie and Cyndi came up with a remarkable solution, redesigning the floorplan and opening up a wall. The kitchen is now an integral part of the great room and a joy to work in. In choosing cabinets, countertops, pulls, etc, it was so beneficial to see all the products in their showroom and make selections with confidence. Melanie has great design sense and a good eye for what works together. She was always responsive and helpful. We highly recommend BTB Kitchen.

We had the pleasure to work with Cyndi Mosher in the summer of 2018. Cyndi was able to quickly incorporate our initial kitchen remodel ideas into a cohesive, professional and a beautiful design for our entire house. Cyndi beautifully designed both our bathrooms as well as the laundry room and living area. She was extremely patient, taking the time to answer all of our questions as well as helping with the selection of tile, counter tops and cabinets. Cyndi is easy and fun to work with. She is a true professional with an exceptional eye for design, space, materials and colors. We highly recommend Cyndi Mosher to anyone looking for a best in class Interior Designer.

We worked with Cyndi on a remodel of our kitchen, dining and living room space. She did an amazing job in every aspect! She made our kitchen go from feeling cramped to spacious. She pretty much nailed it with her first set of drawings. We changed very little from her original concept to the final design. It was well thought out and her attention to detail with regard to useability was great. She came out to the house several times to help with redesigning and adding additional lighting (it was so dark previously in our living and dining room!), changing our windows in the kitchen, and designing built ins for our dining room to add additional storage space. She also came out another time to go over the usage of every single cabinet and the sizes of items I would be storing in there. As a result, everything has it's own home now with plenty of room to spare. This was in a kitchen that we couldn't put all our dishes away in formerly due to lack of storage space. When we needed to trim a little from our overall project budget, she took the time to make suggestions as to where and how we could cut back just a bit. I felt her design fees were appropriately priced and we received great value for our investment. I had debated on whether or not to use a designer as we began the project and I can say with all certainty that without her, our finished product would be missing so many things I would never have thought of. Having her designs also made it easy to go to the city of Campbell for approval and also saved us money with the architects that were required to create drawings for us. They leveraged her plans. It is such a pleasure using our kitchen now and having our friends and family over is so much nicer now that the layout of the home is more conducive to family gatherings. Thank you Cyndi!

I'm so glad I hired Cyndi Mosher as the designer for our kitchen remodel project. I had an overall plan in mind but I never could have done it without Cyndi's expertise and attention to detail. She offered so many good ideas but also respectfully listened to mine. It was an easy, open collaboration. I liked that Cyndi came back and remeasured my space one last time before submitting the cabinet order - measure twice cut once. The cabinets and hardware we ordered through her are beautiful and very well made. Cyndi made sure heavy duty slides were included for the pan drawers and other pullouts. Our space was not all that big which made designing more of a challenge. Cyndi met the challenge and now we have a beautiful new kitchen and dining area. I would not hesitate to recommend Cyndi. In fact, I already have!

Cyndi Mosher, owner of Beyond the Box in Santa Cruz, didn't know what she was getting into when she agreed to work with me. I wanted to explore nearly every combination of options - ordinary to exotic woods, cabinet finish colors, door styles, countertops, everything, sometimes more than once. Cyndi was extremely patient; thank goodness her amazing Beyond the Box shop had a seemingly endless variety to choices to sample, even down to the details of cabinet designs, lighting, hardware, countertops & edges. Cyndi was a fabulous creative partner who worked hard to help me visualize my ideas and to set boundaries when my fantasies exceeded my budget and my available space. My contractor was a bit nervous about working with a new designer but was very soon won over with her command and precision of every detail of the design. She has an extensive network of professional associates that she can recommend for any portion of the project and she would be my first choice to recommend to anyone wanting to create their own unique dream kitchen.

Cyndi has been a joy to work with. We spent a good part of 2015 getting plans put together and then tweaking and tweaking and tweaking for a large remodel. In 2016 when the project actually did start she was just as helpful with every idea I would come up with and then being there every step of the way, many times having to come over on very short notice to decide about this and that. We never plan to remodel again, 9 months and still going is enough for us, but if we did we would use her in a heart beat.
