We worked with Cabinets and Designs after Hurricane Harvey. Our experience was a great! Measurements and designs were excellent and timing was even earlier than expected. We worked with Rick and exceeded our expectations. 100% recommend!

We had a wonderful experience with Tom, Maggie, and Maria during the complete remodel of our home in Illinois. Even though the entire project was done long distance, their attentive service, obvious skill, and attention to every little detail made me feel confident that my kitchen was going to be perfect - and I wasn't disappointed! We are a large "foodie" family with 10 children and 10 grandchildren, so we cook a LOT and spend a lot of time together in the kitchen! Tom and Maggie listened to my needs, my desires, and my personality, and they considered all of it in the design! I already knew that Wood-Mode's beauty and quality is absolutely unmatched, and the designers at Cabinets & Designs managed to turn my "dream kitchen" into a reality! I couldn't be more satisfied - I LOVE my new kitchen!

I was introduced to Maggie at Cabinets and Designs by a friend that used her twice in their homes. I was impressed with the show room and her knowledge on the cabinets and the quality of them. We actually picked all of cabintes and the extra pull out pantry, trash can cabinet, extra cabinet for a 2nd pantry and the added end for the extended counter top to rest on in a relatively short time. Even the pulls. I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I am and how lovely the new kitchen and bathrooms and built in computer desk are. All match and look fabulous and were put in place on the targeted date. Perfect. I definitely would refer friends.

Cabinets & Designs were wonderful to work with on my total remodel (gut job) for my kitchen, laundry, mud and powder rooms. Maggie Grants was our designer and she is an absolute pleasure to work with. She was respectful of my husband's and my ideas, but she offered additional design and functional ideas that took our project from very nice to over the top and beyond. She initially provided a budget for the kitchen and the final costs were on target. We chose to expand the project to include laundry, powder and create a mud room where none existed before, so final total costs exceeded the original kitchen, but were well worth it to us. I appreciated that Maggie could guide and advise me what choices were driving up the costs and offered alternatives to stay within budget. Her vast experice with kitchen remodels enabled her to offer sound advice on how to improve the functionality in addition to creating a beautiful space. I am so pleased with our choice of using Cabinets & Designs, that I plan to work with them again on another remodel project. Note, project cost range is limited to costs incurred with Cabinets & Designs, and does not include appliances and other general contractor costs.

We had a beautiful experience with Bill Currier and Cabinets & Design on our kitchen and master bathroom remodel project! Bill offered design ideas we had not thought of that solved some of our issues with space, gave us the beautiful solid cherry cabinetry we dreamed of at an affordable price. We love our new kitchen and bath and the project was completed on time and on budget. Bill was always available when we had concerns and is a pleasure to do business with. I would recommend him highly to anyone looking for good design, on schedule, on budget!

The Not So Big House The challenge was making a 1936 charming rock cottage with a meager 1,000 sq ft into something livable. The original kitchen was about the size of a closet. It was so small that the refrigerator has to go in the hall. The screened-in porch in the back had been converted into a nondescript room in the 1960’s that had a leaky flat roof and termites. In a nutshell, here is what we did. We tore out the existing kitchen and converted the space into part of the living room. We demolished the nondescript room and rebuilt it on a slab so that it would support a second story. The nondescript room became the kitchen and utility room of my dreams. The upstairs became a master bedroom, a master bath, and an office alcove. In the kitchen (since the floors in the living room are oak, the walls knotty pine, and the ceiling shiplap - all medium hues of brown) we selected a very dark ebony matte finish on the cabinets so that they would stand out from the rest of the wood in the house. The color and finish turned out beautiful on the Brookhaven knotty cherry that we used throughout the house. The stainless steel washer and dryer are part of the kitchen and go nicely with the other stainless steel appliances. We put Saltillo tile countertops with decorative Talavera tile inserts in the kitchen. We planned a 15 inch space above the wall cabinets to display some Talavera plates. The above and below cabinet lighting add to the overall ambience of the room. Since we don’t have an eating area, we use the island to seat up to six. The pull out drawers, the pantry, the “Lazy Susans”, the spice drawers and utensil drawer make efficient use of space and motion. We even have a pull-out drawer under my sink to store my dish scrubbers. My trim carpenter installed the bottom cabinet molding backwards, but it still looks great. We made the mistake of ordering a side-by-side counter depth refrigerator. We lost valuable storage space with the double doors and would have been better off with a single door refrigerator. We’ll just have to live with it for now. Upstairs, I used the same Brookhaven knotty cherry cabinets in a matte ebony finish throughout. These cabinets integrate well with the rustic look and feel of the entire home. We carved an office out of the wall in the master bedroom creating an alcove by flanking the desk with bookshelves. Large iron gates close off the desk giving me some mental and physical separation from it since it’s in my bedroom. The master bath has Saltillo countertops and Talavera sinks installed in the Brookhaven knotty cherry cabinets. We love the soft close doors and drawers. The hammered copper cabinet knobs go well with the bronze faucets and other hardware in the bathroom. Now, a few things about Cabinets and Designs and why you should select them as your cabinet designers. The job went like clockwork. Cabinets and Designs made it so easy. No surprises. The cabinets came in on time. My salesman, David, came out to the job site several times. He measured the space while under construction to plan, then measured again before ordering, and came out again when the cabinets were delivered to review installation instructions with the builder. David shared his experience and expertise to make the best possible use of my space for what was important to me. Now I have the a bigger “not so big house” with the kitchen and bath of my dreams in it. Thank you!
