DESIGNS BY CHRISTINE

It is difficult to qualify the scope of Christine Smith’s talents, expertise, and professionalism as a designer, even by using superlatives. Initially, we hired Christine to double check our draftsman’s plans for our new home and look for any “red flags.” She meticulously reviewed each room, elevation, and exterior drawing; met with our draftsman several times; and inputted the draftsman’s elevations and room layout into her CAD system so we could see the exact home we were building. As a result, she helped us make modifications to the initial design to accommodate our desired use and enhance the aesthetic look of the home. Over the next several months, Christine met with us to design the interior and exterior of our home. Christine is an excellent listener and was able to hone in on design styles, which reflected our tastes. She worked tirelessly over the weeks and months to find materials that fit with our Craftsman style home. In addition, she would suggest practical ideas that we would never have thought about, which made significant improvements in the details of the home. Christine Smith is a consummate professional and has guided us through the design phase, and now in the construction phase. She is always looking out for our interests. She worked on our behalf meticulously devising a budget for the home that was extremely detailed (two huge binders full of pictures, notes, bids, etc.) and realistically calculated. She is fun to work with, has a perpetual “can-do” attitude, willing to go several extra miles to accommodate our wishes and needs, and has been our guiding light and safety net through this arduous and sometimes stressful process. It is refreshing in this day and age to meet someone who is excellent at her trade, easy to work with, demonstrates integrity and high-caliber character, an unparalleled work ethic, and respect and kindness toward others.

Christy and Larry were very professional in all aspects of the project. Christy designed my kitchen with respect to what I wanted in a kitchen and offered very valuable suggestions. The scheduling of the different contractors were done on a timely matter and Larry was always available to make sure the jobs were done professionally. The kitchen was completed as scheduled. I now have a kitchen more beautiful than I had imagined.

We recently had our bathroom designed and remodeled by Christine Smith of Designs by Christine and her husband, Larry Smith, of Custom Design Construction. Christine is creative, knowledgable and thorough. Her suggestions for materials and design elements helped to create a bathroom that is even lovelier and more user friendly than we had envisioned. Christine not only offers wonderful suggestions, but more important, was able to take our vision and make it a reality, while staying within our budget. Having Christine design our bathroom and Larry and his very skilled work crew do the construction made the project go smoothly. Christine and Larry had designed and remodeled our kitchen a few years ago, so we knew from that positive experience that when we were ready to remodel our bathroom, we wanted to work with Christine and Larry again and we are glad we did.

We hired Christine to remodel our 1980's kitchen and breakfast nook. She had wonderful ideas and put together a kitchen that when I walk into 5 years later, I say to myself, "I love this kitchen". Christine put together a very personable and professional team that hit all of their targets according to the schedule and cleaned up each day before leaving. We had a couple of minor issues that popped up and Christine handled them promptly. We are currently working with Christine to remodel one of our bathrooms and our dining/den area.

Christine designed three rooms in our house, the kitchen, master bath, and a guest bathroom. She took my ideas and added her expertise and design skills and made the rooms fabulous. Christine is very easy to work with. All three projects went smoothly and we are very happy with the results.
