Expert craftsmanship is only the beginning. The entire kitchen project was a collaborative effort supported by in-depth construction knowledge and skills, meticulous attention to details and a genuine caring attitude. Because of these characteristics, the project as a whole comes out better than a customer could imagine. Whatever your vision, it is enhanced by the expertise and sincerity brought to the project. My home was built in 1958 with distinct rooms, not an open floor plan. The kitchen had never been remodeled. The entire room was gutted down to the studs. The ceiling was removed to facilitate the rewiring, no easy job due to old blown-in insulation in the attic, which was removed. The kitchen's two pocket doors are very useful to my lifestyle with pets, so we retained them, but Darryl recommended that we replace the doors themselves with beautiful new French doors to open up the room. Darryl said that the old track mechanisms are superior to those manufactured today, so we reused the old tracks with the new doors. This was a more time consuming project than just replacing the tracks, but Darryl gladly made the effort because of the superior performance of the old tracks. I also have two walk-in pantries in the kitchen and I wanted to keep them, so we updated them with new decorated frosted glass doors and put lights in them. I don't have enough room for an island, which I really would have liked for a work space, so Darryl suggested that we expand the old not-too-useful 14" countertop configuration to a really useful 34" peninsula and move the dishwasher to the other side of the countertop. The old kitchen had very poor lighting so we designed a new lighting scheme of task, ambient and decorative lighting. I am a collector so I included some lighted cabinets with glass doors. Darryl brought a team of professionals to the project - installer, electrician, tile setters, painter. Everyone was very positive, helpful and truly interested in the best outcome of the project. Work was completed on a timely and efficient basis. Every time I go into my kitchen, I smile and smile - I just love it. Most people tell me that they have had problems with such a large-scale remodel but not me. When we encountered a few unexpected issues, Darryl and the team and I collaborated and resolved the issues. Like everything else in life, the quality of the outcome is in direct proportion to the quality of the people and Darryl and the team are top-notch and very nice people to boot.
