We had a delightful experience working with Amany Hanna and Rich Breese to design and remodel our kitchen and master bathroom. Amany worked closely with us to design our kitchen and bath and presented multiple options for us to chose from. She was great at guiding our choices allowing us to decide on a design that fit our existing décor and was very functional. Rich was wonderful to work with. He kept communications open, was always available to answer our questions, and managed all subcontractors effectively. Our project exceeded our expectations and was finished on time and within the budget we had agreed upon. I look forward to working with Amany and Rich again in the near future on our next project!!

Divine Design & Build did an amazing job remodeling our master bath. They worked with us through the initial design concept, selecting materials, and overall construction process. We couldn’t be happier with the end result which came out beautifully. We were especially grateful for their expert advice on materials and layout.
We worked primarily with Amany on the design and budgeting for the project, and then with Roberto and David on the construction. At every stage of this project, we found Divine Design to be responsive to our questions and preferences. No detail was too small and they worked well together to give us a great experience.
The project moved along efficiently, and the work area was kept very clean every day. We loved working with Roberto throughout the onsite work and think he did an exceptional job on our space. And lastly, at the end of the project, we were very impressed that Divine maintained the same high standard and responsiveness to ensure that all issues and details were resolved favorably. We would happily do another project with Divine Design & Build and have already recommended them to friends.

It was a pleasure to work with Divine Design + Build on my kitchen renovation. From the start. Amany Hanna and Dave Pillarella explained the process to me and addressed all of my questions and concerns.
Tad Jaillet, my project manager, was on site every day from beginning to end. Tad was trustworthy, reliable with high standards about the quality of work being done.
Amany, Dave and Tad were all highly professional and maintained great communication throughout my project.

The Divine Design team did a job remoding a dated dark master bath into a light modern spa-like space. They are well organized, responsive and truely do try to attend to every little detail regarding the project. The onsite crews were clean and respectful of our living space, house and any outside areas that were to be impacted.

We hire Devine Design and Build to renovate our entire home interior including the garage with some exterior work. The team, Christian, David, Kevin and Jana did a first class job. We were impressed by their quick response to any inquiry, their communication skills, and the craftsmanship.
Kevin, the carpenter kept the job site neat and organized. He worked well with other technicians involved in the project which made things
easy on us, the home owners. He remembered all the little details of the job and followed thru on every item. Frankly, it was a pleasure having him work on the project.
Jana, the interior designer gave us insightful suggestions that really worked well in the space. She was able to augment our furnishings with some lovely pieces. She pleasant and easy to work with.
David, the project manager handled everything with a professionalism you don't find a lot of these days.
We've gotten so many compliments from our family and friends, even the telephone man, remarked on the completed renovation.
Finally, Mariette and Magued Barsom the company's owners have put together a competent, professional team that made our experience stressless. We recommend the company to others and would gladly hire them again.

We do Glass work for Divine. We always see out of the ordinary designs, attention to small details and request for the best material available. The last project we did for them was a full back painted glass wall in a bathroom including the area inside the shower!! You do not see that every day.

We live in a large ground-level condo in Brookline, MA (built in around 1985), and decided to replace an old and dark kitchen and adjacent dining room with a new, bright, open kitchen-family room combination. We considered a number of possible contractors and, after speaking with others who had new kitchens constructed and whom we had reason to trust, we chose Divine Design + Build, with showrooms and facilities located both at 2 Battery Wharf, Boston, MA, and at 180 Linden Street in Wellesley, MA. Our project was an ambitious one, requiring the design of an entirely new kitchen/family room area, the removal of a large bearing wall, the installation of large steel beams, the construction of new oak flooring, the creation and installation of a large island and an expansive glass backsplash, new Thermidor appliances, special imported cabinetry and storage space that was elegantly hidden from view, new ceiling lighting, new plumbing and electrical work, and a complete paint job. The result, with which we have lived happily for some time now, is absolutely fabulous, both functionally and aesthetically. When it became clear that we would need a bit of added storage, Divine Design + Build offered to create and install a special, spacious cabinet at no added expense to us. And, perhaps best of all, the main carpenter responsible for the primary construction and finish work, a highly talented and wonderfully cooperative fellow named Tad Jaillet, proved supremely capable both at organizing the project (including making sure that plumbers, electricians, flooring installers, and others did just what they were supposed to do) and at the hands-on work itself. Tad in particular was terrific at anticipating and avoiding difficulties, communicating with us effectively, and making things go smoothly. We couldn’t be more pleased.

My experience with this design / build contractor was less than ideal and I would not recommend for a high end job. Things started great, my interactions with Mariette were very nice and she is a talented designer. The difficulty began when her husband Magued took over managing my project from the direct project manager George. George was pleasant, flexible, available and responsive. Magued was difficult to deal with, his workers did not always agree with his suggestions, nor did I and frankly as my checks came in, the service got worse and worse. It culminated in what has motivated me to actually write a review, one year after they finished my job the unit above me leaked water and my brand new kitchen suffered water damage. My Divine Design installed cabinets needed some minor attention and replacement panels and we needed to look into a wall to see if there was permanent damage. Megaued came over, looked at the issue and said he would help me and that I should expect a month or two but then he will be there to help. Many months roll by and Magued no longer responds to my phone calls or gets back to me. He sent me a pathetic email saying that he no longer would help because the job was too small and he just couldn't make enough money from it! Now when I was interviewing them they were both speaking about how they stay there for clients to help with their needs going forward, can be leaned on for support, etc. Perhaps they only talk like that when they are trying to win business. Not the type of service you expect after paying them multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars. Life is too short to deal with people that say one thing and do another. Find another contractor, you will save money, work with nicer people and get a better product.

Comment from Divine Design+Build:
Dear Rob,
Thank you very much for you review. Sorry for the late reply and phone call, Mom was very sick and passed away and we were in the middle of it all.
To be honest, when we read the review we were in disbelieve and in complete shock. We know you, and we know how kind and gentleman you are. It is not like you to give someone a review for work they have not done or as for revenge, that is not you at all. So before we start, we are so sorry you feel that way and I am sure there is misunderstanding.
We read your comments over and over again, and I wanted to take this time to thank you on your kind words about our designs and working with us, and how were there for you.
We finished your project in fall 2014, and not a single time during the project or after you mentioned anything about Magued being difficult or hard to work with. We started your major construction project on the just about the toughest street in Beacon Hill (Kitchen, master bathroom, guest bathroom and floors throughout the whole unit) in June and completed in the September/October time frame.
If you remember, you were very happy with us and how the project was coming along, that you even gave us four front row seats to the Red Sox game as a thank you to Magued and our family cherishes till now.
Three years later, when your upstairs neighbor had a leak affecting your beautiful kitchen, you were working with contractors that handle insurance claims. Nevertheless, I was there the very next day after you called my cell. My assessment from what I saw that everything looked reasonably in order and I could not justify the extensive investigation you wanted to do.
I understand you were sick of dealing with other contractors, and you looked for us to do the restoration work (which as you know is something we don’t do). We were humbled and flattered that you wanted us to do other work (you must have liked working with me at least a little the first time :)
I worked tirelessly with the condo management company and your adjusters. Ultimately, we did not have the manpower to do the restoration and the insurance company would not even reimburse enough to cover our cost. We thought the right approach for you was to engage a company that specializes in restoration and insurance claims. We know the minimal restoration work is now complete. We are happy that you did not incur any unnecessary exploration costs which would have run many thousands of dollars. Thank God there was no damage to the cabinets or any of the finish materials we worked on.
From the bottom of hearts, we thank you for all the kind words and your trust in us. We sorry we could not do your restoration project. It is a shame that our decision not to do your restoration project so jaded our relationship and made you that upset. We had a great time working with you on the project. We wish many happy and blessed years to come in the amazing space that must be the envy of the neighborhood.

Divine Design did a great job remodeling our kitchen. Everything went smoothly and it was completed on time with all costs settled in advance. They helped us change the kitchen in ways we wanted and came up with new ideas of their own. The design was great. And we were very impressed with Tad Jaillet who was in charge of doing the work. He was super careful, attentive to detail, easy to work with, communicated very well with us, and is completely trustworthy. He made suggestions about little things that improved the results and made it easy for us to live in the house while the renovation was being done.

Divine Design & Build did a wonderful job remodeling our outdated and closed-off kitchen. The design process was detailed. Michael Hanna drilled down on all of our design decisions, making construction itself easier. The gifted kitchen designer/owner Mariette Barsoum weighed in on all decisions. Structurally, the wall between our kitchen and dining room was removed and a kitchen window which was low relative to the floor was repositioned in order to allow a run of countertop. The lead carpenter, Peter Flavin, was here every day and available 24/7 (though I did not abuse this privilege). Project planning began in earnest in May 2016. Demo began on October, 28, 2016. I had a functioning kitchen before the end of the year and the project was finished in early January, except for some exterior painting which must await warmer weather. There were no design changes during construction and the cost was as agreed prior to demo. The quality of the work was outstanding. Cabinets, countertops, flooring, etc were gorgeous. Finish carpentry was precise and extensive. Fascinating to watch. Subcontractors (plumbing, electric, flooring, plastering, painting) and DDB's carpenters were professional, neat, cleaned up each day and worked full days. I recommend DDB without reservation and will use them again once I have recovered from this remodel!

We worked with Divine on a kitchen and powder room remodel during the winter of 2016. We kept the existing footprint in the kitchen but ripped everything out down to the studs. We have a long, somewhat narrow kitchen, about 30 feet by 15 feet, and to start from scratch as far as design goes was overwhelming for us; we did not know where to begin. However, Michael and Mariette came up with three different plans showing us multiple ways to use the space. Once we had decided on a plan both Michael and Mariette were invaluable in helping us choose materials and in making design suggestions, all the while listening to our concerns and incorporating our ideas into the design.
The crew doing the work was skilled, professional, polite and neat. We cannot say enough good things about Tim White, Tim LeBlanc and Kevin Mayo.
Divine is not inexpensive. However, the quality of the work and the skill and responsiveness of the Divine staff is something not found at bargain prices. We love our new kitchen!
