We are very happy that we chose Dream Kitchen to renovate our kitchen and bathrooms. Working with our designer Don was a great experience. He provided very thoughtful design ideas taking both functionality and esthetics into consideration. The entireRead Full Review

It was great that we knock down that wall and made you kitchen into a lovely living space. I can picture your family all together after a meal while you are doing the dishes. This is what life is about- being together with the people we love.

The shower valve I use all the time. I move the controls to the side closest to the opening of the shower. It give the bathroom that upmarket look and makes it easier to use the controls. Thus you do not have the shower head control and the tub faucet on the same line- making more room for the bar for the shower faucet and sprays. I put the main head int the middle with the tub filler under it. I put in my own own bathroom to show you this can be done. Unfortunately she did not use my contractor nor did she use my suggested plumber. Her plumber did not want to move the valve- (it does cost more but I think it is so much better) I then provided another massaging shower the same day that you called. i did not charge her any additional money even through my contract was for the initial shower valve. and the replacement was more expensive.
In regard to the medicine cabinet - my contractor said he did not know if the could put the medicine cabinet flush. I am sorry you were not there. It matters if there is plumbing or an electrical box on the other side. In this case he was not sure as the electrical box could be on one side or the other. So it was an unknown. This generally is an unknown until we open the wall. Sometime it works and sometimes it does not.
The new tub that was designed was a standard tub size, it would have been a customize size- very expensive. Please remember she wanted an inexpensive bathroom. Normally when the bath is taken out the it is easy to reframe the wall to fit a standard tub instead of paying the extra money for a non standard tub. Again she was on a tight budget.
To summarize- I provided what was in the contract. I jump through hoops to change the plumbing because the new plumber did not want to move the controls. You are correct I am not an expert on construction. I have contractors that are experts and I use there expertise. If this was done with the subs that i suggested or the contractors that I suggested- this project would have gone more smoothly. I have many clients that want to save money on the labor and I always am helpful and provide suggested subs please see my other reviews - my project go smoothly. This was unfortunate that you were not involved in the beginning..
I will add documents to this next week after I get the picture of my own bath.
