Melinda holds a master's degree design in interior design (M.I.D.) from The Boston Architectural College in Boston MA. After working for one of Boston's largest design firms Payette, she stepped into entrepreneurship in 2009 with her 1st design firm she ran in Boston for 13 years designing commercial, aviation, & healthcare spaces across the US & internationally. Familiar to the media her work can be seen on HGTV, The Today Show, Boston Magazine, Fox News & Bedroom & Bathroom Magazine. Flat Pack was created in the midst of Covid. Initially designing over 80 Ikea kitchens around the US in person & online in the 1st year alone. She was introduced into the new construction multi-unit residential market in 2020 designing her 1st multi-residential development in West Town on Adams St. Nominated Development of the Year by Chicago Realtor Magazine & featured on House Hunters on HGTV. Today she has designed $300+ million worth of residential & commercial real estate. Her clients include some of Chicago's largest residential developers, builders & homeowners alike. Pioneering the neutral Nordic vibe weaving in unexpected color and pattern, which creates her eclectic signature style that she has become known for. Melinda currently lives & works in the heart of Lincoln Park in Chicago. Her unique heritage of Ecuadorian & Norwegian parents has inspired her design style that is ever evolving. No matter what style she is asked to create, each space designed by Melinda feels refined, livable and truly unique. My condo in a high-rise building was in need of complete updating. I no longer live in the area so had to entrust the project to a designer who could work well with my contractor. Melinda was recommended by another owner in the building and she did a beautiful job of helping me select new everything from cabinets, to fixtures to paint. She was very thorough in her communication with me, the contractor, and the building management. My condo looks great!

We worked with Melinda, who was a delight to work with and she provided us with lots of design and planning details we would have never come up with on our own to make a spectacular kitchen both in design and functionality. Melinda is a wonderful, easy going and hard working person. We met Melinda while working on a new construction multi unit development in Chicago at 2341 W Adams. Every year we work on few hundred + units in the Chicago area and this time we were very happy make cabinets that were out of the box. Melinda selected very unique and trendy finishes for each unit. New development turned out great and units were sold within few months. Currently we are working with Melinda on few custom projects. Melinda is very easy to work with, respond quickly to emails and phone calls always finds flexible time to meet with here in the office or on the job site. I strongly recommend Melinda, she is a great designer and real estate agent that knows the market and always help her clients to make the right decisions.

Melinda at Flat Pack was great to work with. She listened carefully to our ideas and very quickly created an elegant design. I asked for some revisions and she quickly delivered those as well. She was highly responsive online or by phone. Pricing was extremely reasonable. But ultimately what matters most is that when the design was actually built out in our kitchen, it worked and looks awesome.
