Kristen Menichelli is a kitchen and bath designer with over 12 years experience transforming spaces. She began her career in theatrical design, and later transitioned to home design and remodeling, with an emphasis on sustainability and eco-friendly design. While she has a strong personal style, Kristen believes in creating spaces that are true reflections of their owner’s personality and lifestyle. She has a keen eye for the practical as well as the artistic, and her aesthetic infuses warmth into sophisticated spaces. She loves a challenge and enjoys working with clients who have a unique artistic vision. Her referral-based company, Green House Designs, provides full-service kitchen and bathroom design and purchasing packages, as well as e-designs for the DIY crowd. She is experienced in sustainability practices for the kitchen and bath industry and specializes in eco-friendly designs.

To say that we enjoyed working with Kristen at Green House Designs would be a huge understatement. She was absolutely wonderful and I cannot recommend her enough! We did a large kitchen renovation which involved taking down load-bearing walls and we needed help with the layout of the room. She met with us virtually and in person to understand what we were looking for and what was important to us and came back with several design renderings that were beyond what we could have imagined. She walked us through every step of the design and construction process and was there to answer any questions we had. Her expertise on cabinet design and placement was wonderful and we are thrilled with how everything turned out. She never pushed an aesthetic on us and fully embraced what we wanted and only dissuaded us on our choices when there was a legitimate design or function flaw (which saved us from some big mistakes!). And in addition to being a wonderful designer, she is an even lovelier person and a total joy to meet with. We cannot recommend her enough!

Kristen was a dream to work with on my hardwood flooring installation as well as my full kitchen remodel. Her designs were amazing and while I couldn’t afford my dream kitchen, she did some magic to work within my budget to get me very close to it! Communication during the design and construction process was very clear and timely. I appreciated the updates on the project’s progress and remaining work. I would highly recommend her services for any kind of project, from design to project management.

Kristen helped us through a total rebuild of our home that included an addition and an in-law suite. We met with Kristen in the beginning of January 2015 and worked with her for an entire year. We worked through many iterations of the two kitchens and three bathrooms in our "new" house. Her knowledge, patience and willingness to work with our general contractors, sub contractors, and architect were unmatched from any other designer/service provider we used. Her responsiveness and pleasant demeanor were refreshing. She was reassuring when we doubted our choices, and thorough when we had questions or if our trades had questions. You'll find Kristen to be a joy to work with. I certainly did!

Kristen assisted with designing our kitchen and recommending a contractor. She helped us choose cabinets and counter tops as well as provided the design for placing them in our kitchen. This even included some custom elements. We couldn't have been more pleased with the service we received and would highly recommend working with Kristen. She worked closely with the contractor to make sure that everything proceeded smoothly, on time, and within our budget.

We worked with Kristen to redesign the kitchen in our new home. The house was built in 1979 and in DESPERATE need of updates. Thanks to Kristen's excellent work, we ended up with a modern kitchen with timeless look that really changed the whole layout of the house for the better. The main floor is now more open with the kitchen as the focal point of the family living space. Without Kristen's expertise and creativity we never would have been able to come up with the floor plan or get all the features and appliances we wanted into the space in such a functional and beautiful way. We are so happy with the finished product and highly recommend Kristen's design work to anyone!

From start to finish, the overhaul of my kitchen was expertly planned and guided by Kristen. Her willingness to help me work within my budget and her friendly approach to the design process made for a very positive experience. Every member of the team was professional and cheerful throughout the project, and Kristen was great at coordinating the various jobs and was always accessible whenever I had a question or concern. This project was a real challenge, since no work had been done in my small kitchen for at least 30 years. Additionally, the floor and walls were off-kilter and posed some installation problems beyond what was originally anticipated. But, Kristen and the Bray and Scarff team met each challenge head-on, and they made it all work. The kitchen is now the best-looking room in the house, and I am so happy with the results. It's my pleasure to recommend Kristen's design artistry and expertise to anyone looking to bring some home improvement magic into their lives.

My husband and I recently bought a condo in need of a complete kitchen renovation. We were dealing with a small space and felt we had limited design options. After trying for several weeks to design the space ourselves, we met with Kristen in hopes that she could help us maximize the utility. After visiting our space and listening carefully to our vision, Kristen designed two options for a beautiful and spacious kitchen. Her suggestion for sink placement was particularly helpful and helped us maximize counter space. After selecting the layout, Kristen reviewed with us our options for cabinet brands and styles. She helped us select a look that fit perfectly with the overall feel of our house. She walked us through the ordering process and the cabinets arrived in just a couple of weeks. From our initial meeting to installation, Kristen was extremely professional and pleasant to work with. She put us at ease with what had been a daunting task and delivered beautiful results! We would happily recommend Kristen for her design work!

Ms. Menichelli provided planning and estimating guidance, total project turn key contract execution and support for my kitchen update project in an older (1965) condominium that I purchased in May 2013. Kristen and her team also provided suggestions as to what would fit the physical envelope of the kitchen area and some very useful design ideas for cabinets, appliance and treatments. Once the project began she monitored the progress of the work together with the installation lead (trades) for the project and performed a final visit to review the outcome. All in all a complete service for my kitchen project that was very well performed and a very attractive update to my condominium residence.
