Working with Jen has been a wonderful experience. As someone who has worked with many different designers, my experience has been that they are strong in one area but lack the tools and repertoire for a complete experience. Not only can Jennifer help with all of your concepts, selections and orders, she takes your ideas and translates them into beautiful CAD drawings to complete your vision. I highly recommend Jennifer if you are looking for a professional who "checks all the boxes" for your design needs..

Awesome. Jen was spot on with style choices and keeping within budget. We'd hire her again. She totally paid attention to details and there were so many. She was always on top of the project and keeping things moving along.

Just to give you some background around my review: I am a 68 year old man who had just purchased a very "used" condo from a twenty-something male...it needed a complete makeover and I wanted all new furniture. I received Jen's name from a random, cold call i made to a Chicago furniture store, where I had seen some furniture i liked, which was my only connection to her before we met in person to see if i felt she was the right designer. I could write many things about her talents as a designer and how she listened to MY needs and wants, both from a design, and cost standpoint. She did it all from the paint colors, to the bathroom and kitchen tiles, the window coverings and all the furniture throughout my new home...she even helped me with placement of all my pictures, and then was nice enough to hang them herself. Long story, short...I Love how my home turned out...just as I had imagined. Although Jen is a wonderfully talented designer, her greatest strength is her qualities as a person, as she is probably one of the most sincere, kind, and honest people I ever met in my in my many years. Simply said...SHE IS THE BEST!

Jen is a great listener, has great attention to detail, and is happy to work with any budget. We had a very modest budget to work with for an almost entire home look rework (on the low end of the project cost). She defined my eclectic style and has truly pulled together several rooms of my house to form a cohesive, stylish home of which to be proud. I feel that it's "magazine worthy" now because of her help and receive so many compliments from guests. Just goes to show that at any budget, Jen can make your house look like a million bucks!

We are an electrical contractor that has completed a few small electrical projects for Jen of Ideas and Ink. She has always been very professional and easy to work with. We have enjoyed working with her to provide electrical work for her customers. We look forward to working with her on future projects

Our project involved a barely updated 1929 vintage home of less than 2000 sq ft, updating both baths, adding a walk in closet in the master, moving the laundry upstairs while rejuvenating the old part of the house and coordinating with the newer areas. Jen's assistance was extremely helpful. Her suggestions were on target to make the place more functional as well as attractive. Jen worked well with our GC and always provided options as well as great color choices. Would have no hesitation recommending her design services. She is very responsive and is able to work well on multiple projects at the same time.

It was so great to work with Jen at Ideas & Ink on the design of my restaurant. The project turned out better than I could have imagined. I had 2 fears working with a designer. The first is that they would come in with all these crazy ideas I didn’t like and try to force me into something that was not my style. The second fear was could I afford all of the recommendations. Regarding the first fear, Jen took time to get to know me and my style. Her recommendations were exactly what I would have wanted all though I don’t think I could have communicated that to her in the beginning. Regarding the cost we sat down and worked through my dreams and then prioritized what was most important to be able to stay within my limited budget. I spent less than I would have if I did it on my own. Jen also put much thought into the functionality and usability of the design which I would have never thought of. I was blown away by the finished product. It was everything I could have wanted and more. We have since used her again in designing our daughters room which also looks amazing. I highly recommend Jen for you commercial and residential design needs.

Jen helped me in designing window seat cushions for my family room. She came out with a variety of fabric and foam seat cushion samples to choose from. She was able to work with in my budget. I was very pleased with the end results. Jen also helped me in selecting a new beautiful chandelier for my dining room. It was nice to work with a professional as I am not and I was grateful she was willing to consult on such small projects.

We were feeling overwhelmed with a bathroom remodel and Jennifer made our job so much easier, with no stress and knowing the best places to purchase quality products for the best price. Just trying to figure out what would look right for our bathroom remodel was made fun when Jennifer was able to pull it all together and so fast. Jennifer is very easy to communicate with, she listens and she also worked well with the contractor who did the remolding. Happy to have found her and will seek her help again!

Jen worked with us on a home renovation to update our 1950's home. The project included renovations and new furnishings and appliances for the living room, dining room, family room, bathroom, laundry room and minor exterior features (window's, doors and lighting). The house was in need of updating and had become cluttered with too much furniture. Jen did a wonderful job of understanding our interests and preferences and bringing new idea's to us to consider. We learned about scale and color and de-cluttered our home as a result of the project. We now have a good flow, with less clutter, interesting pieces in keeping with our likes and functional updated furniture that really work for us. Jen was quick to figure out what we liked, presented interesting and different looks, furnishings and accessories that we wouldn't have thought of on our own. She worked very well with us and our contractor to ensure the job met all of our expectations. I contacted Jen as a result of two people referring her to me. I was in a bind with moving our 5,000 sqft business to a floor on a high-rise around 11,000 sqft. Jen jumped in and took charge, even though we involved her extremely late. Her confidence and keen eye for colors/textures won us all over in a single meeting. We let her take all the rest from there. We really appreciated her attitude and responsiveness through out the project. Her ability to manage all the trades on the worksite was a relief to me. Especially, to be able let go of the design and concentrate on keeping the company running day to day during the move. Jen has been working with us for over a year. She has been advising us throughout our gut rehab project and now Jen is helping us decorate our beautiful home. Jen has a great eye for color and style and knows how to carry out her and her client's vision. We would highly recommend Jen!!!
