Kerry Flanagan of Factory Builder Stores

Art and creativity have always been a major part of Kerry’s life. In college she found her niche in interior design. “I love being able to transform the mood and feeling of a room with just a few creative changes.” Kerry graduated from Northwestern State University in 2005 with a degree in Interior Design, but an internship with a local kitchen designer ignited a new passion for Kerry. “The kitchen is more than just a place to cook; it’s a place for our parents and grandparents to pass down their legacy, a place to gather and share laughs, or console each other during times of need. The kitchen is where life happens!” Kerry moved to New Orleans in 2006 and started working at a boutique kitchen design shop. In four short years she was awarded Master Designer by New Orleans Homes and Lifestyles Magazine. In 2011, she won Mid Continent Cabinetry’s National Design Contest. “I approach new projects with an open mind because each client is different. Spending time listening and understanding their style is the foundation to a great design. I think outside the box by showcasing the more creative side of kitchens.” Kerry presents designs that fuse the client’s taste with her unique style. “My favorite part of the design process is sitting down with clients and picking out the little creative details. Small details like colors and finishes make a kitchen uniquely theirs.” In Kerry’s spare time, she loves doing DYI projects around her house. From painting and refinishing antique furniture to making curtains, Kerry loves it all. She is family orientated, loves spending time with her husband and dogs, Izzy and Scruffy.
