After getting bids from the big home improvement stores and then having them flake out, I tried my luck with KCR. Rachel confirmed an appointment and was here in just a couple of days and told me for the amount I was quoted by the popular chain she could give me my dream kitchen. She helped me envision an entirely new space and went to work planning the design. I gave her my budget and she worked every option to keep me on target.
The cabinet install team was beyond amazing. Confirmed their work date in advance, were here exactly on time and completed the installation in just a day.
Due to high demand, we had to wait 8 weeks for the countertop and backsplash to be completed – but the result is perfect and a testament to the skill of the crew at Stone Creations.
Rachel handled all the project management – scheduled the suppliers and installation, procured materials, managed my budget, and kept me excited as the plan took shape. I could not have done it on my own. I could not have done it without Rachel.
I’ve since recommended Rachel to my best friends who now also have a brand-new beautiful kitchen. I’d recommend her again and again.
Thank you for completing my forever home Rachel and Kitchen Cabinets Reno!

I had only 3 goals for my kitchen remodel. 1) improve the quality of the cabinets and update the look, 2) have cabinets installed properly, 3) use a kitchen designer whose expertise I thought could improve the amount of storage and efficient functioning of my small kitchen. 1 & 2 were delivered on but #3 was a fail because I ended up with less efficiency and storage. I also felt there were delays and problems with installation due to communication problems and poor or non-existent planning by the designer. I do think the contractors they work with were quite skilled but often their time was wasted because of poor planning.

This is the first review I have ever written. I felt compelled to do so because of the great experience we had with Sandy, and how disheartening it is to read negative reviews by people who have unreasonable expectations.
Sandy is a local small business owner and a retail seller of materials, but she does so much more than she has to in order to sell her products. She believes in educating the client and has a great little tool called the Budget Worksheet. This is where she helps you think about all of the components involved in your new kitchen, and wow, it's a lot to think about! It's not an actual quote by any means, but Sandy has a lot of experience and was able to give us ballpark estimates on everything from the demolition to the last little knob. Having been a Project Manager for 20 years, I added 25% to her guess-timate to cover the 'unknowns' that I knew would be buried in the separate contractor's bid. And sure enough, we needed it.
As with every construction project, you Know there will be an issue, you just don't know what it will be. I believe customer satisfaction comes not so much from whether the project has issues, but rather what happens after the issues occur. Well, even though Sandy was very clear about where her involvement ends and the contractor's begins, she jumped right back in to help keep the project moving forward when we encountered those issues. And, when one of the cabinets we purchased from her was unsatisfactory, she immediately got the manufacturer to replace it, without question. When we dropped into the showroom Sandy stpped what she was doing and spent as much time with us as we wanted.
It is frustrating to operate with no kitchen for 3 months, and it's infuriating when things don't go perfectly, but when you rely on a professional, it all goes so much more smoothly. And Sandy is a Professional. We walk out into our kitchen every morning and still smile. It was so worth it!
Lastly, don't be fooled by the box stores. They buy builder grade products in huge lots with limited choices. If you want your cabinets to look beautiful and last a lifetime, go with custom choices and quality at a reasonable price. Go with Sandy!

I’m sorry you had a bad experience. Unfortunately I don’t know who you are. With just the name Jo it’s not enough info to look into this. Can you tell me what cabinet brand you ordered? Who the installer was? Who the designer was? We strive to make all things right and will do so on your job given the opportunity. Please feel free to contact Sandy directly at 775-250-2488 so I can help resolve you issues.

Sandy is an excellent choice if you want someone to hear you and guide you through that difficult process of a kitchen or bath build or remodol. She is great at identifying your needs and wants and accommodating you. She is very attentive to detail and understands budget constraints. She works hard and loves to see her customer more than satisfied but thrilled with their results. She is great at coordinating and understanding all facets of the process and will guide you with confidence. It is rare these days to find true people of their word that do what they say, Sony is one of those rare finds. I could not more highly recommend another that will help with more integrity or excellence and pride of workmanship. Your kitchen or bath is her reputation and calling card and she takes that as serious business. You will not be disappointed if you hire Sandy Tyler!

My wife and I recently completed a kitchen remodel with Sandy and couldn't be happier. We received 4 different quotes for kitchen cabinets in Reno NV and decided to go with Sandy due to her professionalism and knowledge, and we are so happy we did. Throughout the entire process, she was always quick to respond, extremely knowledgeable, passionate about her industry, and a real pleasure to work with.
We had a budget for our cabinets and she worked with us to not only get the wood species and colors and finishes we wanted, but also stayed within our budget. We can't believe how beautiful AND functional our new kitchen is. Sandy loves to cook and was very thorough in designing the "flow" of our kitchen and worked with us to create a very practical and open layout.
During the entire renovation, we always felt that Sandy was going the extra mile for us and also had the same service from her team. Her installer, Sean, did all of the cabinets and he was a perfectionist and did an amazing job.
In short, we couldn't be happier with the value or end result. Many thanks to Sandy and her awesome team!

We met Sandy at the Reno Home Show. She came to our home for a consultation and listened carefully to the changes we wished to make to our "cookie cutter," builder grade kitchen. The kitchen she designed addressed all our needs and incorporated all the design features we wanted. We gutted our old kitchen to make room for the new cabinets, countertops, appliances and floor plan we desired. Sandy also accommodated a mid-project change that we felt was needed.
We now have a beautiful custom kitchen that includes the new appliances and storage we needed, as well as the "wow" factor we desired. Sandy's design and cabinets, and the granite from Soarks stile and Stone, are gorgeous. The granite fabrication and install as well as the backsplash design and install were beautifully done by Chavez Tile. We are very pleased with our new kitchen!

We hired Sandy to design our kitchen. Her ideas were great and made our space more functional than we ever thought. she came in on budget which was very important to us. Her team was efficient, clean, and showed up on time. She gave us resources to look at for inspiration and places where we could purchase items for less than retail.

Our kitchen remodel started out very good with this lady and went down hill fast. She came out and measured our house twice. I showed her exactly what I wanted my finished cabinets to look like...I wanted them to be the color of my dining room table legs and chairs. She seemed very knowledgeable, but she did not have any samples. We picked cabinets doors from a small catalog and I did not get to see the actual color, but I trusted her. We had to pay for the entire amount in cash up front. We discussed everything before hand with my husband, right there, we knew what our part of the demo was going to be and what her fee included. Her fee was cabinets and install. On my second visit to her very new office space I brought my girlfriend and the specifics were again gone over, we do the demolition, electric and plumbing, her fee includes cabinets and install. She had me sign a 6 page contract, of which I did not read, she briefly went over the items. She gave me 3 computer drawings of my new kitchen cabinets, which are not in the least bit accurate. When the cabinets arrived, her installer was present and was supposed to check each box and cabinet, he did not. He actually is the one that delivered them and he was not happy about that. This was on a Monday, he left the boxes all over my drive way and deck, in front of my garage door, so I could not get my car out, counted the boxes and left. Saying he would be back first thing Tuesday morning to start the install. He came on Tuesday saying one box is backordered and he could not start the job, he had a very tiny blueprint of the layout, and could not read the measurements on it and was asking my son in law what he thought the figures were and then he left. My husband and I bought a hand truck to move the boxes into our garage, we live at 6000' and its the end of October. The installer said he would be back bright and early on Wednesday to so the install. He phoned on Wed. and said he would give us an extra day??? to do what, I don't know?? and he would come and start the install on Thursday. So I called Sandy Tyler of Kitchen Cabinets Reno and said we would just install the cabinets ourselves and how much did I pay her for the install? So I would just give that money to my son in law, she tells me then, "Oh the install was not included in the $10,000." I said yes it was you told my husband and I it was included, you also told my girlfriend and I it was included, she said look at the contract you signed, its not included. I said well don't you think I would have asked you how much your installer was charging?? Don't you think I would have asked the no show installer how much he was charging? So we decide to install the cabinets ourselves and my son in law is in construction, built his own 3000+ sq. ft. house, but no he is not a cabinet installer by profession. We had a laser etc, to get everything straight, but no blue print or anything showing us the layout, other than the 3 computer generated pictures. Well the pictures weren't to scale and there were 3 more cabinets delivered than were pictured, but we figured we could figure out something and make them work. Kind of like a jigsaw puzzle. This no experience lady did not allow for the plumbing under the sink and the rollout drawer, 1st mistake. At the corner one drawer just misses the other corner drawer, but ok, it does miss it, but when it came time to attach my knobs, handles and drawer pulls, nothing can fit on the one drawer and still be able to open the other drawer. She said its our fault since we didn't use a professional installer, a professional installer would have known about a blind space...Yes we would have know that as well, had we had the blueprint of the kitchen mess. She has still not given us the blueprint she promised! The crown molding she provided is usless and does not match the cabinets, other than the creme color, no chocolate glaze on it anywhere, same with the boards that are supposed to enclose the refrigerator, solid creme. Oh and did I mention the color of these expensive cabinets do not match, nor look at all like my shabby chic, antiqued off white dining room table??? The cabinets are actually a light yellow color, with some dark paint/glaze in the corners and they show every finger print. We waited for 3 weeks for her to replace the under sink roll out, until I realized she's not doing anything, once she got her $$. She gave us a name of a place to look for appliances, still waiting 6 weeks later to get a price from Standards of Exellence and we went there twice. I checked out granite and counter tops on my own and then she email a couple names of places to check out and tell them she sent me. Well most of the granite places I had already been to and the formica places never returned my calls, I think I shouldn't have mentioned her name, these people all ran when they heard her name. Finally found my appliances at Czyz's. I believe she meant well at first with our job, but dropped the ball and has no clue what she is doing, she did measure correctly, but then couldn't put the whole thing together hence the extra cabinets (which I am grateful for or it would have been a bigger mess). I am not happy with the color of cabinets, nor do we like the crown molding or refrigerator box and won't be using them. We were able to make it work in spite of no blueprint and one drawer with no handle.

Comment from Kitchen Cabinets Reno:
I am a retail dealer of cabinets. As such I am not allowed by the NEVADA CONTRACTORS BOARD to quote or sell installation. Most clients do want some sort of idea what install will cost so I try to help them by giving them a "ballpark" idea of what it costs. I have no mention of inclusion of install in my contract. It was unfortunate that Candy D misunderstood. This client chose to do much of project on her own because of budget constraints. This can cause issues pulling the job together. I have 6 years experience remodeling kitchens and seen projects go better when I am in direct communication with whomever will be handling the demo and install. Because of mis-interpretation of the sales agreement by Candy D she and her installer cut off communication with me. Had the installer spoken with me prior to starting install I could have given him some insight. Regarding color of cabinets...Candy D was in a hurry to get done to be ready for a big holiday dinner to show off her project. She chose her. Color from a brochure and I believe looking online as well. I never recommend this but when a project is rushed and a sample door is not ordered this is what can happen. The design was a "standard" design including "boxing in" the fridge. Clients do change their minds sometimes during install and that's ok. If a client doesn't want to have all cabinets installed that's ok. It is their house and they have to look at it every day. It is unfortunate that her project did not work out the way she had hoped.
One of the reasons to let a designer handle your project is to foresee issues that might arise in the future. What you spend on Designer Fees is above what the cost of cabinet will be but that cost is usually made up in savings over the entire project.
My goal is always a happy customer. But sometimes it is difficult to reach resolution on some projects
I wish Candy D the best and I hope she grows to love the product she chose. The line of cabinets she chose is outstanding in quality.

I am a Residential Designer in the Reno area and Sandy has worked with a few of my clients on the kitchen design. Sandy has been very attentive to the desires and budget of each of my clients. She works hard to get the clients everything they want for the budget of the project. I would recommend her to anyone who needs cabinets.
