Makawe Interiors

We hired Makawe to decorate our Brooklyn townhouse. Maureen was very knowledgeable and knew exactly how to blend each of our tastes into an aesthetic that we both love. I highly recommend her.

Maureen took charge of the project and made sure to coordinate all aspects. Her suppliers and workers show up and do what is needed on a timely basis. I feel I can rely on her taste and selection of items based on what I like. She has creative ideas and is a problem solver. The project, which was a total redo of a bathroom, is finished and looks great.

I have worked with Maureen of Makawe on numerous occasions and have successfully referred her to many friends and colleagues. Over the years Maureen has designed my apartments/home. It started out as a 1 BR apt in the East village then a 1 BR in Brooklyn which she helped convert to a 2 BR, and finally our big project was our first home purchase. (Did not include wedding consult!) Maureen helped us with everything from floor plans/layouts to colors/painting, light fixtures, I started out wanting to be very involved (wall units, diy hacks etc) and Maureen tolerated me! The majority of our projects she just handled it (carpet install, window treatments, built-in closets and much much much more). This meant giving us easy choices based on our taste. Typically Maureen’s recommended choices were what we ended up with. And very often that recommendation would be unique (Brimfeld) or something that could help us with our budget - (ie IKEA hacks for window treatments!) Maureen is a pleasure to work with and would absolutely recommend her services.

Maureen is extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of interior design and architecture. Her business skills and background were a tremendous asset to us, and helped in making our decision to work with Makawe. She was clear, honest and up front through all the stages of our project. I would not only recommend her to others but plan on hiring her again for any future projects.
