Ken was fantastic from start to finish. He is strong in both the design and execution parts of the renovation process. He was responsive to my requests and the end-product is beautiful! We love our new home!

Paid the $5000.00 D/P (mistake) to get my layout. After that was paid, hard to get a response back to get to the next step. I cancelled the job and sent off messages to get a refund for a portion of the D/P back. Never got a reply back. No communication is the worst type of contractor to do business with. I'm out $5k for probably $$500.00-$1000.00 worth of foot-work they did.

Hi Rick, I must say that I was extremely taken back when I 1st read what you wrote. My first thought was to not reply but I left the comment there for 2 1/2 years for everyone to see, "not smart on my part at all". What I will do is to state a few facts. I am sorry that you didn't like this explanation that I gave to you when we spoke on the telephone. To me, it is quite obvious that it wouldn't make a difference for me to explain it again but I will try. My Team & I were very excited about your project when you originally retained us to be involved in your project. I am very sorry that you put so little value on the amount of time that my Team & I put into the preparation of your project. There were (67 hours) put into the preparation of your project which consisted of design consultation meetings, product selections, research on windows with architectural glass, Copper Ceiling & Architectural Copper moldings, two site visits, measuring Kitchen & Pantry areas, initial design Concept Drawings, detailed Kitchen Floor Plan & Elevations, detail Pantry Floor Plan & Elevations, 1st revision drawings and 2nd revision drawings. The value that you are putting on these types of services would come out to an average of $7.00 to $14.00 per hour. The industry rate for this type of Design Service is between $125.00- $175.00/hr. This would be $74.00/ hr- 40% below the lowest Industry rate. I believe that you made the right choice in not moving forward with this project at that time but will certainly allow the use of the original retainer amount to be used toward this project at a later time. We both know the reason behind your decision not to move forward with your project but I ask that you consider removing this comment from this sight and let your conscience be your guide when considering my request. Working with Ken Dempsey was nothing less than inspiring. His product knowledge, professionalism, dedication and high standards were evident throughout my kitchen renovation project Two examples of Ken's keen oversight of the work and his commitment to his clients' satisfaction comes to mind. It was a Friday late afternoon when Ken arrived at my door to check out a dishwasher installation that wasn't working. He spent an hour and a half trying everything he could think of to remedy the problem and probably would have stayed longer had I not chided him for working so late on a Friday night. I was so impressed by his hands-on approach and grateful for his willingness to work beyond what would normally be expected. He really took the stress out of what could otherwise have been a very stressful experience. The second example is his having a granite shelf re-fabricated because he wasn't satisfied with the fit. His sub-contractors shared his commitment to the client and were highly skilled in their respective areas of expertise. It was a pleasure working with them all. I would highly recommend Ken and Northshore Kitchens Plus. In fact, I am planning to contract him for a bathroom remodeling in the near future. I could not imagine working with anyone else.

He came up with an amazing design for our potential kitchen and bath and involved us every step of the way, while giving us ideas that we never would have thought up ourselves. Ken is committed to getting the job done efficiently, cost-effectively, and as close to perfection as possible, while being flexible enough to meet individual needs. I contracted North Shore Kitchens Plus (NSKP) to update two 1960's bathrooms and one kitchen. This was a large extensive renovation taking several months. NSKP collaboratively worked with us to refine the design layout, fixtures, electrical components and cabinets. They provided complete and comprehensive oversight of construction activities on a daily basis. Their crews were courtesy and professional at all times. All matters that I brought to NSKP were addressed quickly and completely. I was very pleased with NSKP and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends or family. They delivered a high quality product on time.

Ken Dempsey was recommended to me by a well respected real estate attorney and I couldn't be happier. He returned my call immediately and showed up the next day (with his subcontractors in tow!) to walk through the house and see what I needed done. His subsequent estimate was timely and highly detailed. Ken's work is first class and the quality speaks for itself. But my wife and I especially appreciated his thoughtful advice and counsel when it came to making decisions. He has decades of experience and takes a truly customer focused approach to his job. He completed our entire project on a very tight schedule so that we could accommodate guests for Thanksgiving. This entailed working many nights and weekends but he and his crew did it all with smiles on their faces. Ken is a man of his word and we will definitely be hiring him again.

Ken Dempsey played a pivotal role in redesigning our 20-year-old kitchen from a blah outdated place to cook and eat into a warm, modern environment which became the center of our household. Ken and his team at Northshore Kitchens shared their expertise about products, materials, companies,and brands which helped us make a decision about what we wanted and needed for our kitchen. Ken Dempsey from Northshore Kitchens Plus along with his amazing staff redid our kitchen in 2008. It is truly stunning with top of line cabinets and appliances. He put in a pantry in the room with a glass door which adds so much to the kitchen. I have recommended him to friends and will continue to do so. The kitchen is so much more user friendly that what was in the house previously. The design is just perfect for us.

It was such a pleasure in working on this kitchen. Originally, there would have been plenty of space to put the things that you would like to have at your fingertips when working in the kitchen and preparing to entertain your guests. There wasn't any thought about making sure that every utensil that you own to be within your reach and visually in your eye site. The pantry that was customized to be able to do that was the key to really making sure that this space functioned beyond the clients expectations!!! I just love the way that this kitchen gets used by two of the nicest people you would ever want to meet! Happy Holidays to you and your family and friends!!!!!!!

The company is responsible for the complete renovstion of a very large kitchen. The project was led by Mr Ken Dempsey from day one until the very last moment. It was an exceptional experinece. Northshore Kitchens Plus remodeled our kitchen and provided other services to us. They renovated our kitchen from the studs out and expanded it into an existing family room. They also installed central air conditioning; 2 new gas fireplaces; and converted an existing fireplace to gas. They were extremely professional. I initially selected them because having seen their cabinetry in another home. I not only liked their cabinetry but also appreciated their attention to detail.

North Shore Kitchens turned my old Formica/oak laden kitchen into a granite and cherry beauty. The NSK staff were excellent, their contractors talented and reliable, and the results even better than we imagined. Ken Dempsey is a jewel--he has even personally come to my house in the last year to repair a small glitch in the dishwasher installation. No hesitation in recommending them highly.
