It feels so good to get up in the morning and have the three main spaces in a home flow and function so well. Just can't help but smile. We are always getting high compliments from anyone who comes over to our home to enjoy a visit with us or from those who are just stopping by to see the end results of our projects. I was so blessed to find Julie at Rycenga's to work with me. She helped me tweak my design ideas and was fantastic on helping me find the products needed to impliment our ideas for the spaces. This made the projects exciting from start to finish.
We started with the kitchen first because there was no real function to it. Originally there was a continent with over hanging cabinets deviding the work area from the eating area. The above cabinest were so low that you would have to be on your knees to see or talk to anyone at the dining table. The space for a fridge was only large enough for an appartment size. The door leading to the deck was right in the work space of the kitchen. So the continet was removed and a work island was installed. The door was upgraded to a slider door that was moved to the eating space for more light and to be able to look out to the back of our property. The stove remained in the same location but I had the arched opening behind it closed up and tiled for a smoother look. The sink also remained in the same location under the window. The stainless sink is a perfect workable size and easy to clean. The island houses the drawer microwave. (Love it.) Julie was able to include a pantry to the right of the fridge with drawers in the lower section that are so handy for items that are used on a daily bases. We have a walk-in pantry just off the hallway that is on the other side of the eating area for needed but not frequently used items.
The second renovation was the main floor half bath. With Julie's help we were able to give it a new floor plan to include a shower. The original layout was just a large vanity with a toilet in a generous size space. So a shower was installed where the vanity was. I did not want a floor drain in the middle of the shower. So with Julie's help a low profile linear drain was installed against the back wall on the floor in the shower. A wall across from the toilet was moved outward 12 inches into the room on the other side. This allowed for the vanity I repurposed to be located. The vanity was originally a portable server we used at our previous home. I removed the wheels and put on the feet that originally came with it. I then sanded and destressed the finish and top coated it with marine varnish. The wood chopping block top was removed and replaced with a granite counter.
The last project (for now) was the upstairs bath. It was a space from the 80's. There was an elephant size blue jetted tub that was so difficult to get into. There was next to none when it came to storage. With Julie's design we now have two beautiful cabinets with four drawers at the base of each and a matching vanity. The jetted tub I'm so happy to say was replaced with a beautiful walk in shower. It also has a low profile linear drain across the back floor.
With Julie's help our projects turned out perfect for our purpose. She is easy to work with and is open to the clients input. She is a hard worker with you in mind and has a lot to bring to the table when working with you. Renovating is alot of work but it should be fun too.

Ask for Julie!!! I spent the last 3 years slowly completing a full renovation of my basement. Rycenga helped with the layout, design and materials right from the start. Rycenga provides design services if you purchase materials through them. I worked will Julie and she deserves a great deal of credit for how well the space turned out. She provided recommendations and design input, rather than simply throwing a bunch of options at me. Her expert help made all the difference.

We are very thankful for the great experience we had working with Rycenga Building Center on our whole remodeling project - but especially our kitchen! Julie in the design center was extremely helpful and knowledgable regarding our cabinet, flooring, and countertop choices. They had a great selection so help in narrowing it down was wonderful! The installers were also very professional and did a great job. We love our Dura Supreme Cabinets and Cambria countertops! A great experience all around!!
